What will shotguns be like in ME3?

Shotguns were hands down amongst the best weapons in ME2 so I am beginning to wonder what sort of mods might be attached to them? They don't really need much improvement.

Thoughts?

Oh! oh! Im hoping for some range increasing Mods, not super far like ME1 (tho thatd be sweet!) but maybe double the range and a decreased spread, thats my hope for shotgun mods

Tho i hope they are longer range to begin with anyway tbh

Shotguns are not meant to be fired at longer range.

Except they are. The only class that benefits from them when they have a effective range of three feet would be the Vanguard, and that just won't do in ME3.

Shotguns are not meant to be fired at longer range.


In real life, shotguns can shoot at a MUUUUUCH farther range than video games depict.

Hell, ME1's shotguns were more realistic than the usual "Can only shoot 5 feet in front of you" shotguns you see in other games.

Can't blame people for using what's effective. But for the sake of gameplay, yeah, they limit its range and spread.

I miss ME1's shotguns. Those were the days when I was like, "YES! FINALLY! A SHOTGUN THAT ACTUALLY SHOOTS LIKE AN ACTUAL SHOTGUN!"

Wrong; Engineers benefit, Soldiers benefit, Infiltrators benefit, Assault Sentinels benefit...you are so off, watch my videos and other videos as well...

Yes they all benifit, but to me shotguns in most video games feel unreal, why would you have a gun with such limmited range in ME3 along with some awesome new close range attacks? The shotgun should still do X2 damage at the range it has in ME2 but id like to be able to kill some people within a reasonable mid range fight

Compared to assault rifles that the other classes than Vanguard can unlock and use at longer range instead, shotguns (not counting the DLC ones) aren't beneficial at all.

I use shotguns when I see Krogan or if I want to stylishly annihilate someone with my Vanguard.

Otherwise, they're not useful. Not at the range they have.

Its why I use the GPS. Farthest range, most utility.

Because for all the potential damage a shotgun could do at long-range, it would do more at short-range and this would apply to games and real life.

And if you want a long-range shotgun the Geth Plasma Shotgun says hi.

A shotgun with a realistic range would be likely a one shot kill but be affected by a lack of ammo while an assault rifle would pepper enemies to death and have plenty of ammo to do it, but wouldn't be nearly as fast at getting kills at a shotgun.

So the shotgun in  your vision is basically a Heavy Weapon. :mellow:

Well im not saying it needs to do the same damage at range, maybe shoot a guy 3 times with a scimatar (or however u spell it) rather than charge and blow his brains out with one shot, im not asking for an over powered weapon, maybe just a more flexable weapon, since i have seen vanguards charging in with snipers id like to see and be able to do kills at longer range than right now
