What will shotguns be like in ME3?

Except they are. The only class that benefits from them when they have a effective range of three feet would be the Vanguard, and that just won't do in ME3.

Shotguns are not meant to be fired at longer range.
In real life, shotguns can shoot at a MUUUUUCH farther range than video games depict.
Hell, ME1's shotguns were more realistic than the usual "Can only shoot 5 feet in front of you" shotguns you see in other games.

Can't blame people for using what's effective. But for the sake of gameplay, yeah, they limit its range and spread.
I miss ME1's shotguns. Those were the days when I was like, "YES! FINALLY! A SHOTGUN THAT ACTUALLY SHOOTS LIKE AN ACTUAL SHOTGUN!"

Wrong; Engineers benefit, Soldiers benefit, Infiltrators benefit, Assault Sentinels benefit...you are so off, watch my videos and other videos as well...

Otherwise, they're not useful. Not at the range they have.
Its why I use the GPS. Farthest range, most utility.

So the shotgun in your vision is basically a Heavy Weapon.
