I may like Vega. I might not. And since everyone survives in my missions (except for my Vanguard who lost Tali for some reason I can't figure out), there is a chance that he may not get much playing time, except...

Not every previous squad mate is going to be available for the entire game no matter who survived. There is a chance that Garrus or Thane may not be available and Vega is the only option (I hear the combat is going to be much harder this time around, so variety in the assault team may be important).

And who knows? Maybe Vega will be pretty cool.

Actually, Zaeed, Kasumi and Miranda were all good characters. I kept Miranda in my game almost every mission. (aside from Tuchunka) So, your premise is flawed and your argument invalid.

Garrus and Tali were always the main members of the squad I used in ME1 and I was disappointed how you had to wait so long to get Tali back.

I blame the Xbox 360's low disk space and Microsoft's refusal to allow mandatory HD installations. It's clear from the unused recorded dialogue that all the squad members were originally recruitable in any order.

Apart from the fact that his new-style Alliance armour looks absolutely sweet, I totally agree with BioWare's decision to add a 'newbie' as the fresh-pair-of-eyes to the Normandy team. There needs to be a person as the proxy for newcomers to the series (y'know, the sort of guy who asks all the obvious exposition-related questions...), as well as to add a different perspective for the rest of us.

I like having human characters and always used Miranda and Ashley since they were both interesting and fun. Don't like humans? Your problem, but I intend on giving Vegas a chance.

What? I'm pretty sure people did use human squad mates in there games and I'm sure he'll be an interesting character.

Also it is true the fanbase prefers squad mates from the previous games but it's also nice to have one to three new characters in ME 3 as well (and it's realistic too, you'd think Shepard would have at least ONE new squad mate that is new and from the Alliance)

That said though it'd be cool to have a black colored (like the Turian counciler) Turian squad mate who is a hardass, and doesn't care for the law but is still honorable and not unfair.

I like some of the human characters. I dislike some of the human characters.
I like some of the alien characters. I dislike some of the alien characters.

Remarkably enough, it's possible to like characters based on their personality, and not just the fact that they're a walking database about their people's culture.

Though I admit all the questions about Reapers have the equal potential to be annoying. I trust Bioware will put in a "Shut up and put up!" option in the dialogue somewhere. If I'm forced to use it, I will.

ummmm OP, you must have clearly missed or chose to ignore the fact that ashley,kaidan,jack and miranda are fan favs with rather large fanbases.

tali,garrus, and the rest of the alien speacis ARE NOT the center of the Mass effect universe nor is humanity its about them all.Weve already had a salarian,two krogans,a turian,three asari,a qaurian,a drell and a GETH!!! how many more non humans do you need? as for learning more about alien culture ME3 will have you visiting all three of the other council races homeworlds plus the citadel again.....ME3 will be bristling with aliens....dont really understand what your upset about.

i for one will give vega a chance if i like him i will use him,if not i wont use him as much but i will still talk to him and put him in some action.

Personally I liked Kasumi and Zaeed, and Ash just a little. I agree that I'm an alien guy, so as long as he's the last Human we get I'm fine. Who knows we may even like him.

It makes sense to have somebody since you can kill everyone in ME2 and that leaves not a whole heck a lot of people to use for different Shephard builds. 1 more character isn't going to kill us. We should wait and see what's up with the character over the next whatever year or 8 months or whatever. Erp.

all I have to say I do not want mr vega in my party or ship period. I want all or half of the party members from 1 and 2 and that is it. I'm for No new party members, except for Admiral Hackett - I still want him either as a party member or one I can talk to alot.

What I dont understand is that its been stated (dont remember where) that he will fill the role of a meatshield (tank) character yet we see him using a Widow. Tanks dont use snipers.

I am pretty sure that the person with the Widow in the trailer is not necessarily Vega.  He might be, but he also might not be, so you can't draw any conclusions based on the assumption that he is.

I'm not necessarily anti-human since Jack and Ashley are two of my favorites, but Alliance male squadmates already have two strikes against them in my book. I don't care about Jacob and I dislike Kaidan. You could say third time's the charm, but I already feel like I've been taken in twice since I had high hopes for both of them before their debuts. Now I'm just expecting Vega to be dull as dirt, then maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Basically my biggest problem with him is that he's new. It's going to be hard to be open-minded about him when he's taking up a spot that could go to any of the ME2 team and I'd be much happier. As for him rotting on the ship, definitely. But I intend to play as much of my first PT as I can with Ashley and Garrus anyway. The woman who joked about kissing turians, the woman who is kissing turians, and the turian in question. ::snicker::

Hmm...well, I think it would be interesting to have vega in the crew because, apparently it's mostly "old school" in the permanent squad. It'll be interesting to see how the new guy works to earn his place within a group that's been to hades and back 2gether. That's a difficult position for a new person to be in. At least I hope they address that.

But what about the 6th character? I thought it was prolly the LI from ME2 (if you messed around) so those awkward yet "interesting" interplays could happen. But what if you didn't mess around? Personally, I really want my krogan. either Wrex, or Grunt. I love having a krogan in battle with me...they have such enthusiasm for the fight...

I went thru alot of stuff for those characters in ME2, to the point that I felt like I was babysitting sometimes, not to have at least one of them roll over to ME3. In a permanent squad.
