I'm still having problems with the DAO save import not correctly recognizing some events. I have three issues, two of which could simply be me misunderstanding things. I always use the developer's console and the zz_vault_debug script to check things. If this is not the correct way, please let me know.

1. Leliana romance & love making
In my first playthrough I found out the hard way that the save game import's romance detection was somewhat flawed. Leliana didn't acknowledge the romance with my warden in the Act 3 quest 'Faith'. After 1.03 I started a new game, with the same DAO save being imported.

While my warden’s romance with Leliana is now correctly identified, zz_vault_debug still maintains that no love making took place. I’m very sure it did. Is this a known problem and can this be fixed using GFF Editor? I tried messing with the indexes 16024 -> 17607 -> 42 and 16024 -> 17607 -> 43 which according to the worldvault.gda should be 'APP_LELIANA_ROMANCE_ACTIVE' and 'APP_LELIANA_MAKE_LOVE'.

Their values in both DA2 saves were 2042,1 and 2043,1. This is strange for two reasons: the 1 in the value  would suggest both occurred (true), while zz_valut_debug says that pre-patch 1.03 both are untrue and that post-patch 1.03 only the first is true. Same values, different results. Are these even the correct indexes I'm looking at?

Maybe this is related to an old bug in DOA where Leliana’s personal quest didn’t trigger when you let her approval get too high too fast. After patching DAO I used the Feastday Pranks DLC to get her approval down again. I then finished the game a second time with that same warden. I imported that save to Awakenings, Golems and
Witch Hunt, with the post-Witch Hunt save going to DA2.

2. Protecting farms and roads
The zz_vault_debug script also maintains that I did not protect the roads and farmers in Awakenings, which I remember doing. This may be simply me not understanding what the import considers ‘protecting’ or that I
misremembered (is there an option to send ‘some soldiers’, rather than ‘enough soldiers’? Perhaps there is and I chose that).

3. Saving Vigil's Keep or Amaranthine
The same goes for saving Amaranthine and / or Vigil's Keep. The Awakenings epilogue stated that both survived, but the import says I defended Amaranthine (which I did) and didn’t protect Vigil’s Keep (and I didn’t). It just doesn’t say whether the keep survived or not without me defending it. The Silver Order was formed however. Any way to check what's the what?

I can only respond to two of these.

2. If you chose the middle option of trying to protect everything the best you can, it might show up as this.

3. If you have gotten all of the upgrades for VK, it basically survives even if you actually choose to go fight in Amaranthine.

You can read all about the various DAA Epilogue results to see if they jive with your debug script.

Regarding the first issue: I just reloaded an older save in Origins and redid Leliana's personal quest. Afterwards the warden and Leliana made love. I saved the game right after that and imported that save into DA2.

This triggered a message saying that that save contained an incomplete game (very true), but zz_vault_debug still showed that the warden and Leliana did not make love... Is that script wrong? I don't want to play a game all the up to Act 3 again to find out the save is still not imported properly.

The "made love" variable is irrelevant. I don't think it's ever called in DAII. The romance active variable is what matters.

Well, that's what I'm hoping for; just started a new playthrough with a warrior Hawke.

@nightscrawl ... While it is true that Vigil's Keep survives if you get all of the upgrades and go defend the city it appears that on import DA2 believes that the Vigil fell and everyone you left there died.

I know this happens because I have been importing saves where I leave Nathaniel at the Vigil and go to save Amaranthine and get the ending slides where he lives, becomes a hero, saves Fergus Cousland and gets land granted to him that he gives to his nephew. However I do not get the Finding Nathaniel quest in DA2; I always get the Act 2 quest from Yehven that sends me to the Deep Roads. This is highly annoying to me but I do not know if they're going to fix it.
