 Hi All,

I've searched here and on the wiki, and can't figure out if it's possible to get lipsynch without VO.

I've seen Beerfish mention recording blank wav files to achieve this effect, but wondered if there was an easier way?

Can voice audio be turned down/off w/o losing other non-voice sounds?

What about deleting the RoboBrad files after posting?

Any help would be appreciated!

heyas;

do you use that technique, pro? aren't the robobrad face animations in the fsb? or am i confused?

seryn, did you try checking the 'no vo in game' option on the first tab for the line(s)? though i thought that also turned off the lipsynch, but i can't remember. (geeze, im getting rusty.) i think if you turn that off, it makes the text of the spoken line automatically appear across the top. which may or may not be desireable, depending on the effect you're trying to achieve.

according to my tutorial on using the convo editor as a face fx editor... turning on the 'no vo in game' should leave the expression (lipsynch) in, but not play the voice.

Thanks! I'll give the FSB deletion a try.

@Bloodsong--I did check the 'no vo in game' box, but the lipsynch animations disappeared as well.

Since I'm not planning on having custom voiceovers, I thought mute lipsynching would at least look better than blank faces.

@ BloodsongVengeance - Yes, I'm using FSB deletion.

Not quite what I expected, either, but easily verified by trial-and-error.

Slightly off-topic : you can safely delete the FXM files, too, even after VO is recorded, to reduce the bloatware the player has to download. To quote the wiki : "FXM - Metadata associated with the FXE for use in Studio (audio, phoneme info). Not used by the game".

Oh... I didn't know that, thanks!

Just to follow up: I deleted the .fsb files from my module folder and it worked as advertised--no more robovoice, yet the npc still lipsynchs.

Thanks again!
