An equal mix of both.

I was initially disappointed by Origins as well but that was only because I bought it fully believing it was like the CGI trailers. But then it grew on me and I ended up loving it the way I love Mass Effect.

Neither; good game that might have been great.

I disliked DA2 because of the disappointment caused by my expectations which were induced by playing DAO. I am still undergoing extensive mental distress but my therapist believes I might make a full recovery. The cure is at least 20-25 minutes complaining about it on BSN once per day

It seems to be working very well... >_<

Technically, it's not a bad game. It disappoints a lot of the people who loved playing Origins, but those who played DA2 first, generally think it's a great game. And it is. Combat and art style are the main issues people had with this game. The parts of the game that follow what makes BioWare, BioWare - the relationships between characters - is comparable to Origins, if not, of a higher calibre. People will disagree with that last sentence, but I know that (in particular) the companions in this game have suffered, purely because of their association with DA2, not for their technical substance.

I like it even more than I liked DAO. Both are very good games, just different.

I bought Origins for the same reason, and was disappointed for the same reason. However I did grow to love it, as it was a quality game.

I love Dragon Age 2 because it is a quality game, and Origins didn't really factor into it other than "Hey, Dragon Age with a voiced main character." And I'll admit, a big reason I love it is because it feels like the CGI trailers from Origins.

Origins killed me with the combat, I have always hated Round-Based combat outside of tabletop RPGs. It is slow, and very boring. But I was able to look past it and enjoy a great story. Dragon Age 2's re-use of every map killed me, it was obvious and made little to no sense. But I was able to look past it.

Both have their flaws in my opinion, and both have their strengths.

So no, it is neither bad nor disappointing. Personally I think all the hate stems from people wanting the same thing over and over, which I abhor.(Call of Duty...Halo..)

Neither. I've given it a couple more playthroughs recently, and honestly the more I play it the more I appreciate & like it!

I actually loved DA2. I will admit that I loved DAO more, but I still enjoyed DA2. Both games have their flaws, but are still great games.

My opinion, I loved DA2.It was not epic like DAO and had its flaws as most games do. You should realize they are two separate games in the Dragon Age world. DA2 was just one part and a important part. Da2 is the catalyst for the Dragon Age world. It needed to be there to prepare us for what is to transpire in the next game. The Dragon Age world is going to be turned upside down because of what started in DA2. I can't wait for the unofficially announced DA3. Thats my opinion.

I must be the only person on earth who really liked this game...and Origins as well. Maybe I'm just easy to please. Though I doubt it, as these are the first two video games I've gotten obsessed with in years.

I love DA2 and there are quite a few people here in the forum who like it. You are not alone.

Not bad: AWFUL. And then to see this piece of junk proliferate into other games such as Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning of which was one big network like a spiderweb where all roads lead to a huge spider called BOREDOM. Pretty pictures, no substance.
