That's a false statement. Pc gaming is just one of those things that is always dying, but still very much alive and kicking. http://software.inte...-its-pc-gaming/

Only if you think you need to buy a whole new PC just for ME. You dont as I already outlined. <$300.javierabegazo wrote...

Of course PC is always better, but it costs a yacht and a half to build a decent rig. Consoles are affordable, and that's all there is to it.
It costs maybe 300$. You dont need to start from scratch unless your PC is 5years+ old. 200$ for the card 100$ for the CPU = 60fps in all areas @ 2048x1152 (my monitor is slightly higher than full HD).
My CPU cost me 60$ 1 year ago, and the card 200, 2 years ago. So I think you are way off.
Every time a PC game comes out, one of the first questions are
1. What are the Minimum Requirements?
2. Can my PC run this on the highest specs?
3. How much more will I have to pay to run at the highest specs?
My friend, that can bearly get online by himself plays ME2 just fine via Steam in a 4 year old system. He has no viruses, no game errors, and plays just fine. Also, pointing at game errors means possibly ports need to be done with more care and not a PC vs. console flaw *cough*.When a game for the xbox is announced, it's the same as it was 5 years ago, you know that you will be able to run the game immediately out of the box without problems, without fear of "Error 76476374" or Compatability errors with any hardware you might have installed.
1.Consoles don't get viruses.
2. A lot of people who have HDTV's cannot use that TV with their PC.
3. Not everyone likes the Mouse and Keyboard interface with every game. For Starcraft 2, I'm sure it's wonderful, but when I played The Witcher 2, I found myself wishing I had a controller to move him around.
There are plenty of pros about PC gaming. But most of them do not matter if you're not interested in learning how the actual tech works.
Suggesting one needs to be a techy in order to play ME on a PC is rediculous.
Almost every HDTV I know has input for HDMI, so yes, they can use the TV with their PC.
Yes, as we all know PC users have to toil away with their PC to get it to work right. Right? None of them have 70 hour a week jobs or other hobbies. Really? But in the end, lets say I dont' even know what a graphics card is, and I work 70 hours a week at my restaurant, and I also sculpt in my free time, and I spend a lot of time on riding my motorcycle, the ACCESSABILITY of Console gaming is far more attractive to me than having to think over all the small features.
"But most of them do not matter if you're not interested in learning how the actual tech works." Conflicting points here.It has nothing to do with your intelligence. It has to do with the amount of time you wish to invest.
To be clear, console gaming is easier and more accessable, but many of the points you made are even more off than the original post I quoted.
The only real practical differance is taste in mouse/kb vs controller.
PS: I play on both 360 (family members) and PC, so I understand the dynamics of both and what it takes.

Rest is pretty much history on that lol. The only franchise that I like even remotely as much as ME is Assassin's Creed. And even that is a distant second. (Both franchises I own and plan on getting Revalations this year as well but that's waaaay OT lol)
Sorry, got a bit off topic there but all this talk of consoles and pre-ordering made me think back to when I first played ME1 lol. I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread XD

Even if it MIGHT only cost ANOTHER $300 to play modern PC games, that doesn't guarantee that you can be able to play the games on the highest specs. Playing ANY video game on low specs is really degrading to the experience.MrBigglesworth79 wrote...

Well, back when NPD sales figures used to be released openly to the gaming press just a year ago or so, it was very clear then that PC sales on average comprised about 5-10% of console sales (not counting digital sales... as digital retailers never release their figures).... so it's not a large leap to assume Mass Effect is about the same (though perhaps a bit higher for Mass Effect since it is made by Bioware, a developer that used to be purely PC centric in the late 90's / early 2000's and earned a great many loyal PC fans back in the old days).
This figure obviously fluctuated with certain games - namely cross-console RPGs and the Battlefield series (since its distinguished, long history is on the PC), however for the most part, the 10% rule was pretty accurate for most sales figures.

I kind of find it poetic justice in a way that The Witcher 2 is coming to Xbox 360. And I will be playing the crap out of it too lol

Plus the 360 is basically the uber poor man's PC and that's why I've got it. I can't afford to spend 1000's of dollars on a gaming PC.
I will say, I wish we could mod to the extent that the PC users can.... thank god for the gibbed editor! XD

Sood's sources claim that Microsoft pitted the best console players using control pads against "mediocre" PC gamers with mice and keyboards and found that the console players were "destroyed every time." It was apparently so bad, he wrote, that cross-platform play would have been an embarrassment to the Xbox team.

If you're not used to it and use a bad mouse and an absurdly high sensitivity sure, it will be difficult. However, when it comes to aiming, a good mouse user will always be better than a good controller user.
Someone with a decent mouse and who's used to their specific sensitivity are extremely accurate when it comes to aiming. A controller just doesn't give the same amount of precise control a mouse can.

Think what you will (and I know most people think it's the other way around), but IMO using a mouse is just.... terrible. You want to move just a little to the right... you move your mouse and then you're looking behind yourself. Whereas, I can pull off headshots with ease with a controller.
It's all about tastes though.
