you move your mouse and then you're looking behind yourself

Well I suggest you lower your dpi, or pointer speed, or mouse sensitivity options. Also mind that auto-aim is lower or non-existent in PC games.

I've always been baffled at how people can play shooters on a PC especially when using a mouse to aim. Those things are too inaccurate and quick moving for my tastes. <snip>

I'll.... just leave that alone.. probably for the best.

Think what you will (and I know most people think it's the other way around), but IMO using a mouse is just.... terrible. You want to move just a little to the right... you move your mouse and then you're looking behind yourself. Whereas, I can pull off headshots with ease with a controller.

It's all about tastes though.

It is indeed all down to personal preference.

Though on a technical side, even the cheapest 10 dollar mouse has a greater input accuracy than a controller... it's digital vs analog input... a mouse has pixel perfect precision, a controller does not (this is why almost all shooters on consoles use aim assist, to comepensate for the limitations of analog input).

If you're having difficutly placing your crosshairs exactly where you want them with a mouse, then you've simply got your mouse sensitivity far too high - lower it in the game options (or in your Windows settings) and you'll find it perfectly fine to control.

But again it comes to preference.... but on a technological level, the scan rate & frequency of a mouse is infinitely finer than a what a controller can achieve... but it does take some time to get accustom to knowing how to play with a mouse (just like it takes time to learn how to play with a controller... I for one can't hit the broadside of a barn with a Xbox controller when playing a shooter... cus I don't play it often enough).

Personally, I'd rather sit in my game chair, looking at my 42 inch Flat Panel LCD television, with my Razer Onza Tournament Edition controller, playing games that way.

Just a preference. Last PC game I played was Age of Mythology. GREAT game, that was.

I don't get this...I can either enjoy Mass Effect 3 on my pretty powerful PC, with a great sound card, excellent 5.1 speakers and extremely comfortable chair or I can just as easily play it on my tv. We aren't in the 90's it is possible to play PC games on tv.

She is correct. The biggest issue I find playing PC FPS games is the pixels themselves. On console everybody is limited (yes they are limitations, don't kid yourself otherwise) to the same hardware, aim sensitivity, and lag speed. Everybody is equal and this can be a good or bad thing depending on the person. In the PC market sometimes it isn't so much about whoever has the best reflexes or the fastest APM (lol Starcraft players know what I'm talking about) but who has the strongest machine with the most frames per second and who has the most advanced mouse capable of detecting the slightest motion.

Perhaps that is why some people have difficulty transitioning from console to PC and vice versa, but that does not make one better than the other.

I used to be a PC gamer but got tired of having to upgrade hardware so frequently, just to play game's I'm interested in. So, Xbox 360 for me.

XBox for me...I just don't get along well with mouse and keyboard....I bought a PC compatible controller, still waiting to try it out on a game though....Would be nice if BW re-introduced KOTOR, it's not available for the 360...:-(

Playing it on the PS3. My 360 died earlier this year and I don't feel like buying another one.

Playing on 360. I don't mind using a mouse to control but I can never get comfortable with the keyboard. PC gaming always seems to have an extra layer of hassle too so I gave up on it except for rare cases.

I bought ME1 back when it was 360 exclusive, of course I want my imports so I'll be playing the whole trilogy on mah xbox.

Edit: my PC isn't really up to the task of playing current gen games right now anyway. I'm still playing KotOR on it though :D

...who is planning on purchasing ME3 for a console. I've played (and am continuing to play) both Mass Effects on the xbox 360. But, just from observing other threads on this forum, I feel outnumbered as it seems a lot of people here are primarily PC gamers. So I am just wondering, am I alone or are there other forumgoers who actually are planning to get the console version of the game?

I have ME for the PC & 360, paid for both. I have ME2 for the PC & 360, Bioware gave me the PC version free for getting DA2, paid for the 360 version. ME3 I reserved it for the 360 at Gamestop and won't get it for the PC unless Bioware gives it away free.

I'm mainly a PC gamer, but since I do have ME and ME2 on the xbox as well I pre-ordered the CE on both platforms. This is the end of Shepard's story, how could I not get the CE on both the PC and xbox? ;)

PS3 for me, I am a victim of RROD and at that time they didnt have the 360 slim as an option and didnt trust the current model or want to fall victim to it again. I had the pleasure of playing ME1 when i had a 360, was joyed to find out ME2 was being ported to PS3 and wouldve loved the first to have too.

I do however plan to play it on 360 once i can get a new one. I want to see how the side stuff will effect ME3 since it seems we will finally see those play out too.

I buy shooters for 360, because it feels so much more awesome to pull a trigger to shoot a gun than to click a mouse button.

I will never understand favouring accelerated analogue stick aiming over the speed and accuracy of a mouse.

I play console strictly. Never liked PC gaming. Too much hassle.

Mostly this. And for reasons Javier stated. Still, though, it's not like I wouldn't like to have extra PC copies of some games like Mass Effect and the new Fallout games for making hi-res screenshots and playing with mods.

I have ME1 and 2 for the 360,I just hope I'm not forced to switch from my Elite to one of the newer Xboxes for ME3...

(I'm pretty much waiting for my Elite to RRoD before I upgrade, but well my Elite is being a trooper and pulling through)

I started on the 360 with ME1 and bought ME2 for it as well, but I've always been primarily a PS3 gamer (I actually bought my brothers old 360 to play Mass Effect). So, when ME2 came out for PS3 with all the little goodies, I had to get it. XD

So, I'll be getting it for the PS3. My brother (whom I got into the game) will buy it for the 360.

Id advise you do it while your Elite works so you can transfer the data. Newer 360s are the Wifi model and their Harddrive seems different. Just a word of advice so you can get your ME data over with one ofthe 360 portable memory units ive seen before.

I was originally purely 360, but I played the demo and liked how it played on the PC. I saw a Steam deal for both ME and ME2 and decided to take it, and I have to admit, the PC version of ME1 is in a lot of ways better than the console version, and I'm having just as much fun with ME2 on the PC as I had with the console.

But when it comes to ME3, I'm purely 360 until another Steam deal for ME3.

XBox for me. Reasons being, 1) I paid 300$ for my XBox Elite, and not thousands for a good gaming computer, 2) Big screen, Lazyboy couch, ME doubles as an interactive movie for friends watching, 3) My XBox never gets viruses or bugs up. Evar.
