Irrelevant since 99% of PC players wouldn't dream of playing with a controller so it doesn't really matter.
Not with the witcher 2. The game is much more fluid on a gamepad.

Is there anything official concerning gamepad support for the PC version? Because I'm ready to start a defamation campaign on the internet if they can't finally hire a single competent coder capable of inserting an "if" variable where it belongs.
Troll much?
You havent registered your game on the forum, so that means you are either a pirate, or too cowardly to put your money where your mouth is. Therefore, your opinion is irrelevant.
Dont get me started on your competance if you need a controller for PC gaming.

Or he just bought a used copy. It does happen.
And wanting to use a controller =/= some sort of gaming incompetence. I grew up on a steady diet of PC, console, and arcade games, and depending on the game, I prefer different mediums to play it on. I dislike playing shooters on the PC, just out of personal preference, but if I could use the gamepad, I would, since that would also give me access to mods.
Seriously, it's just preference/habit. No one way of playing is better than the other.

I stand by my comment about his opinion being worthless, even if he did buy the game second hand. Buying it second hand means he has not contributed toweards the cost and development of the game, or of future games. Second hand game purchases only line the pocket of the second hand dealer, and provide no benefit towards the developer or publisher.

Well ya I don't play my racing games or fighting games with a keyboard and mouse, but Mass Effect where I have 0-9 to use and a mouse for aiming.

There! My mark of shame - I bought Dragon Crap 2.
Now, back to the matter at hand. The very notion of releasing a console port to the PC without gamepad support is ridiculous. It's shameful, it's unprofessional and an insult to customers. The console interface is already in the game files, the ini file contains gamepad button mapping, WHY THE F*CK NOT GO ALL THE WAY? Especially since "the way" is a single tiny step requiring but a moment of competence.

As a minority I'll stand up and shout then. I far prefer a joypad to M&K, and couldn't give a f*ck what anyone else thinks. It's my preference. I use emulation software to convert Joypad movements into K&M input so I can use a joypad for most of my PC games. For older games that's acceptable. But we now live in an age where most games are multiplatform, and options are extremely important.
It's not that much work to add controller support, even if just the Official 360 Pad. It really wouldn't effect anyone who does prefer K&M, so where's the problem?

Still waiting for that official gamepad support confirmation. Even Skyrim is doing it this time around.

For action games like AC and POP, fighting games, racing games - sure, I think gamepad support works fine. Even encouraged. I love playing AC on PC with a gamepad. The keyboard setup breaks my fingers. But for shooters? Pointless.
"But then again it's just my opinion, no need to go spreading around."

Yup. People have somehow forgotten that gamings biggest plus is customization. Yet some would rather limit that...Clonedzero wrote...

Bioware says that it all because of "different" power_wheel/tactic_screen, but it's not a big deal to change them ingame depending of what controller player uses (for example, i saw that on leekd Deus Ex version).
And not 99% of PC gamers uses keyboard - much less. Just look over the internet for posts where thousands of gamers are dissapointed by no_gamepad_support or how many tried use some gamepad modification or xpadder twiks. Mass Effect most awesome game at nowadays, but so tiny detail as gamepad support, could make it even better!

Programming the gamepad for ME1 & ME2 was a pain, so I support this 100%
