Yeah, I agree, of course, but such is the way of things at current. I will be missing out on this bad boy; not worth switching pre-orders around unless against all odds Gamestop doesn't offer anything. Then I guess I will consider it.

If it's a standard rifle (the Valkyrie rifle is supposed to be very popular on the black market as well), then why can't we buy those things in the game instead of doing this?
Retailer DLC disallowed on the grounds that it violates its own lore?

Yes. So much approval.
It's so dumb the way it is now. "Here, Shepard. This is that rifle everyone knows and is very common on the market, but I had to go through plenty of contacts in order to get one and only one. Enjoy."
Edit: And what's with the lack of trigger guards on these guns?

DLC items were strange to begin with. "Shepard, I've decided to think simplier and sent you ancient rifle with fancy thermal clips system added. Oh, and btw, that's most effective AR in game. Enjoy." Decision to try plasma-fueled, futuristic bicycle before usual one (which tears futuristic one apart, in addition to that) kinda rises questions about TIM's cognitive abilities.Someone With Mass wrote...

Blame EDI for that one:
"Mattock Heavy Rifle
Shepard,
Miranda has been working with EDI on crunching battle telemetry numbers, and EDI had an interesting thought. She suggested we may be overlooking older, proven technologies in an effort to provide you with the state of art. Normally I wouldn't give much credence to the idea, but when an AI criticizes you for loving high-tech, it gives one pause to consider.
With that in mind, I delivered a few heavy rifles, the Mattocks, to the Normandy. They've been modified for thermal clips, but the rest of the rifle should be the old, reliable gun that colonist militias have been using for decades. Good hunting."

Knowing BioWare, I'll probably end up buying codes on eBay again to get a complete game.

...the month's just started. Remember reviews saying "DA2 - RPG of the decade"? Yeah, that didn't last long. I'm sure something else to do with ME3 will pop up which we will whine about more.

I preordered my CE from Gamestop back in october.JG The Gamer wrote...
And here come the retail-exclusive DLCs, just as I predicted. I'm going to stick with Gamestop though since it's just a drive down the road from where I live and Best Buy is on the other side of town.

At any rate, I wonder if Amazon will be getting an assault rifle too. Maybe all three of them can shoot one-another dead and leave small businesses to make some coin. I hate how I can't support the local game store without sacrificing completion. Then again, I won't get the Argus and whatever Amazon offers anyway, so maybe I will just support those folks. /shrug
Still don't have the Terminus Armor, Blackstorm and the... What was it? Collector Armor?

I was okay with the Collector Armor not being sold later, since it was part of the Collector's Edition, but the Terminus and Blackstorm not being sold was a big mistake.JeffZero wrote...
I picked up the alternate squad appearance packs for ME2 earlier. Figured I ought to celebrate Downloadable Content Is A Scourge Day with some downloadable content.

Amazon's preorder might be semi-decent, but it might just be a gun.

Obviously Bioware has decided to replace all NPC voice actors with Keith David to save money. You won't notice this as Keith David has a great vocal range.pmac_tk421 wrote...

Imagine a whole game voiced entirely by Keith David.
