I hope that doesn't impact the production side of things. Though, you have to wonder what would push someone to leave in the middle of the dev cycle. I hope that's not an indication of where the game is going.
*sigh*

When you say Lead designer of ME1 and ME2, don't you mean ME3 as well or do you have a different Lead Designer for ME3?
Preston is and always has been the Lead Designer of all of the ME games. Christina was the lead of the design portion of the gameplay group.

One would presume a change of that magnitude would require some leadership on Christina's part, and given Preston was Lead Designer on both, it's hard to know what input or influence he had on it. Hopefully it was plenty.

Am I the only one here who realized ever since the announcement of the kinect support that voice recognition can be implemented on any platform simply using a microphone, or a headset for consoles?
You "realized" wrong, Pakundo.
The reason they can add voice recognition for the Kinect is that the Kinect box itself, not the Xbox 360, does the voice-recognition. It has it's own software and hardware for it, that's very good at it, and very specialized, and that doesn't significantly impact the processing power of the 360 attached to it.
For a PC or non-Kinect-equipped 360 or a PS3 to process voice, it would need special software running on it, impacting it's performance, and require much heavier programming than the Kinect does (as I understand). So no, Kinect voice recognition doesn't mean all systems could have it. It does mean we're approaching the era when all systems could, but we're not there yet.

- Fix the flags,
- Make a new back-up of the OP,
- Spice up the Twitter section
- Add a new section about the San Diego Comic Con
Anything else?

I am just wondering, did you guys prefer the funny titles or these, more informative ones?
I liked the funny! The funny was nice. The Flying Spaghetti Monster knows these boards could use more funny and less SRS BSNS.

Funny all the way. We could do with some humour on this forum.

Interesting, is this announcement enough to revamp the squad roster?Vertigo_1 wrote...

The "nothings permanent" line suggests very strongly that the concept of full-time squad members has run its course and no longer the situation for ME3.

But why?
It worked fine and the alternative of arbitrarily switching out squadmates is just annoying. What if I like having a permanent squad? What if I like the synergy between specific characters?
It just sounds like they don't want to account for all the variation so they are forcing the choice on the player.
Or maybe everything is going to be great! (maybe)
