What has happened to ME?

It evolved in a right direction, even if it's not YOUR direction.

What makes it "right"? Because you agree with it? You sound like you aren't an Elder ME Player, which tempts me to ignore your opinion.

^Did you ever seen a trailer - for movie or game - where they only show conversations?

Did you ever think Mass Effect was the type of series to only show action? Oh you did? You came along after ME1 for sure then, likely even during or after ME2 was already out.

Mass Effect 3 has shown just about nothing of the non-action sequences compared to the first game and similarly to the second. We all know ME gives you far more play time outside of action and combat. These videos and screenshots are leaving out vital parts of the experience's appeal.

Honestly, considering the subject matter of the third game (galactic war) I wouldn't expect much in terms of the overall atmosphere of the first ME. Which is kinda sad, but I'm still excited nonetheless.

You think wrong then. Read the features. We are in for a lot of non-action hourse, despite what the marketing pace wants the shooter market to buy into.

Ah, I've been using this "internet" thing for quite some time...and this is the most ignorant, narrow minded comment I have ever seen.

You ask what makes it right because it involves his opinion? What makes your opinion right? Get off your fu#king high horse. We all love Mass Effect, Mass Effect 1 included. I love the style that was ME1, I loved ME2, and from the looks of it, ME3 as well, stop acting like you are the only person who has ever played Mass Effect 1

Its clear that those who don't like the game are in the minority and everyone else is going to buy it with varying levels of enjoyment of the ME series. BioWare goes with the people who make them a profit and so they are going in the direction of the majority even if it might not be the best direction.

Good and Bad are subjective and up to the individual.

My, oh my. Somebody is sensitive. And no, not everyone loves ME1 equally or cares about maintaining its integrity. I am not going to act like the people who say, "It's a game man. I just want it to be fun when I am playing," or "Whoah. That is some badassness. Omni-blade Shepard can stab!" are holding ME on the same pedestal that I have it on. And my opinion is observable. ME has changed to more action-oriented interests, as evidenced by the released promotional materials. "Right" is not measurable here, so I asked what made it right.

Calm down and maybe your pony will start making ground.

Of course, because, everyone sees things differently, I think it's right you think it's wrong that's it: opinions.

Look at the Ridge racer series, I'm a great fan and I'm raging right now over the upcoming RRU....but there are people who thing that's great, and I'm OK with this, 'cause who am I to tell them there wrong  ? because I'm an "old fan" ? that's BS, everyone has the right to like anything they want, and if a series is going in a direction that's you dont't approve, here is a tip: cry a river, build a bridge and get over it.

I don't know if right and wrong are the right words for this situation... Opinion means neither of us is really right, but I get that you think you are. My question is still, why is is right? What makes this the direction you thought was meant to be for Mass Effect?

...yeah its me cannon...anyway, Im not fighting in favor of the new gawdy action stuff (see: omni blade, feiry logo, etc..)

however, I am fighting the fact that you think that your opinion is the only one that matters, we can all see the change, for better or worse, some of us are accepting it because we love the Mass Effect universe for its lore (stroy wise) and characters, not because of its "cool sifi synths," (not disliking those, they are always welcome) and you are acting like the people who accept the change arent true fans...well how about you cannon? the guy who refuses to play any shepard besides the stiff soilder marketing shepard? how are you a bigger authority than those who play and love every inch of this universe?

Because (very personal views coming) I don't think that ME is meant to be a RPG or TPS, etc......I think that Bioware wanted to do a space-opera in the shape of a game. That's what ME was, that's what ME2 was, and that's (likely) what ME3 will be. Of course if you excpect ME to be like KotOR you'll be disappointed, because Bioware didn't want to make a KotOR-like, but they just wanted to make a space-opera.....witch just happen to look like KotOR.
I'm glad they pushed ME on his own path,, and I fully support Bioware for achieving THEIR view of ME (not mine, but I happen to have a very similar view of the franchise).

Sigh, I guess it is easier to attack the person making an argument than to prove the argument false. So often is the case. Lets try to not fall into flaws of logic like assuming the postiton, Circular arguments, Straw man arguments, and attacking the man. None of those kinds of arguments succede in proving your point they only are distractions. If I use any of those please call me out on it and lets all just share new info. For example Mission Command is active on Facebook now.

Is there any mission other than the one where you flirt with Liara at this point?

Who cares what the music is? This is an information thread, not some looney music show! #FeelsVeryBossy

Well, we do make a hell lot of Three Caballeros references.

I guess that I agree, it doesn't really fit anywhere. Still open to more opinions.

Opening theme seems considerably less sci-fi and more like a war requiem, but you can still hear some strains of the ME theme at the end, which is a nice touch. Gives each game's menu a sort of distinct feeling now of exploration, a group of unlikely allies, and now the war to end all wars.

I think it's very cool, can't wait to hear more of the game's soundtrack
