If the PC version doesn't get voice commands (and I'm pretty sure this'll stay a kinect only feature) this just goes to show how BioWare won't do anything to use the PC's potential, and this is just a small example.
Heck, they didn't even give us official 360 controller support, which seems to be a relatively easy thing to do, as they have a 360 version of all games, and they even left some files from the 360 version so that modders managed to edit some cfg files and enable the controller.

This is just silly.

You consistently get top end graphics, with capability, should your hardware allow it, to have full 1080p and above resolution, etc.etc. because the PC librares allows for that. You get better control through the keyboard, and often many of you take great pleasure in telling everyone how playing on PC is the ONLY way to play games.

The fact is, the Kinect libraries, allows voice control; why is it completely impossible for any PC player to forego or defer any feature to a console? Would you rather Bioware spend a small amount of time integrating Kinect voice control for the 360, or spend months adding voice control for all platforms?

Sorry but I constantly get the feeling that PC gamers somehow feel slighted at ANY feature that is console or console-only, yet also like to feel superior in every way to players of other platform (same happened when the PS3 port was announced).

'We impose order on the chaos of console port evolution. You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we will endlessly moan about it'

Sorry, I apologise for what might seem a rant, but please, just get over yourselves, and lets care more about the actual game than whether platform A gets something platform B doesn't, these trivialities are irrelevant.

This is complete and utter nonsense. Why would the game only be available to the PC and the 360? The game did well on the PS3 and the way they implemented the options from the first to the second was done nicely. Sure I would still advise all PS3 players to play ME1, just because its such a great game.

Now stop your trolling and get back in your cave

Have to agree. I was on the forum a long time ago describing how I used the Revenant LMG. Somebody asked me if I had a good PC and a gamer mouse. A little surprised, I said yes, I had a good up-to-date Velocity Micro and a first-rate gaming mouse. He replied that what I was doing, or rather the way I was doing it, wasn't practical on a console.

Also, thanks to high resolution, PC users with good rigs already have a very good idea of what Tali looks like.

Games had voice commands on original Xbox using just the headset. WTF they need Kinect for? Kinect is the bane of gaming anyway I hate that POS. Seriously why couldn't the voice commands just be handled with a damn microphone?

The speech recognition software in Kinect is the same as in Windows Vista and Windows 7 (called Windows Speech Recognition). I even managed to make some modifications to allow voice commands in Mass Effect 2 so it shouldn't be hard for BioWare to do this.

Jean-Luc's texture mod was applied. The shape of the head is the same but think away the eyebrows.

My point is voice recognition is not part of the standard xbox libraries that devs can just make use of, so Bioware would have to implement it or at the very least do some research into how other devs have achieved it. Plus there's the whole calibration malarkey that for the most part is rendered moot with Kinect.

You say 'it shouldn't be hard for Bioware to do this', but it would be harder than to just use , and then people do have a valid case to say that Bioware are wasting time adding frivolous features by spending excessive time developing their own voice recognition system

Hopefully they fix the issue with action cutscenes on the PS3 version that they had in ME2.

Don't be ridiculous. Something to use the PC potential would be FIRST anti-aliasing options, x64 and quad+ core support and dx10-11 effects.
People who plays shooters on PC, do them with mouse and keyboard, not with a controller or voice support. PERIOD.

So not true with ME2, mostly because the devs were way too lazy to do it...

im hoping for some sorts of iron sights system in mass effect 3.

the little over the shoulder zoom thats in me2 is decent but iron sights can really make the battle feel more visceral.

you mean like, zooming in in first person while aiming?! that will never happen .. the textures are not good enough and would just break the combat.. Mass Effect is not about presision and realistic shooting, it's
about fast paced third person shooting with powers.. stoping and going into first person to land a headshot with a AR is a bad idea. and the Dev have already promised a Gore system.. like .. shoot a human husk in the head, his head explodes and blue blood goes off. and he keeps going now bling and furious! that's viceral enough for a game like this!

lots of old gripes in this thread lol.

Clearly console gamers will have great periferal interface, but shi tay picture. PC users who have monster rigs with GTX 580 in tri or quad SLI, 24 GBs of 2000MHz ram, and 2 overclocked 5690 Xeons will be able to see flys blink 50 meters away over Shepard's shoulder, but that's what you get when you put 15K into a rig.

I just think as long as you have the same 'content' to the game across all platforms, 'platform x vs platform y features' shouldn't matter.

Might want to add this, as it is the phase they are in for the ME3 Development:

twitter.com/#!/PWatamaniuk/status/94036170153000960

"Have started locking down decisions. This is the phase of project where we look at what we have designed and go - yes, no or iterate."
