Not really confirming anything but something intersting apparently Mordin may cure the geophage

Thats not good for the stability of the galaxy.

Edit: he says "we kind of think of it as world war two on a galactic scale" therefore Carriers will be the super weapon against battleships/destroyers/Dreadnaughts .... plus fighters can be equiped with thanax cannons.

I was hoping when I heard more about ME3 , I was hoping soldier would have a choice of strength vs durability as a power to balance the classes , strength would give him cybernetic implants that would allow him better or stronger melee , maybe if maxed out he could snap necks or his melee would knock enemies across the room , if you choose durability he would be able to with stand more gun fire from having another layer of armor called man of steel or something a more advanced version of the skin weave/bone mesh that would protect after sheilds and armor was worn down , but I guess my question to reader here is the fortification power on your skill tree , is it some how similar to what I'm describing or do I have it wrong?

Then that is a step backwards.  Per target XP was abandoned by pen-and-paper RPGs over the last decade for a good reason.  XP should be awarded per mission (which is a separate issue from whether you should actually have a Mission Complete screen).

I hope this is the only time BioWare listened to the whining grognards.

If my D&D games awarded Xp per mission we'd end up going up 1 level every 6 months! I don't know about version 4 but 3.5 D&D is still very much Xp per creature and I wouldn't have it any other way :o

1. Originally (in 1.0), 6 months was fairly standard time for going up a level.  Most campaigns retired at 12th or so. Once you hit 9th, it was common to take over a year to level.

2. You don't award per creature in modern D&D.  You award per encounter.  That is the point.

Awarding per creature makes optimal play a matter of killing everything.  It de-emphasizes alternate means of play, such as stealth, that do not engage every creature.  It penalizes role playing.  That is why the old systems of XP per creature are being phased out.

The most granularity that ME3 should do is just that: per encounter.  You get all of the experience once combat mode ends (and not before), and you get exactly the same no matter how you defeated/evaded them.

Mass Effect has never really had any stealth gameplay though. It's almost always focused on more or less killing everyone in the room to proceed.

I understand your logic though, and I do agree.

You know what's not good for galatic stability? having everyones flesh harvested, I'll worry about that first before worrying about the Krogan, especially with Wrex at the reins.

MIdnight report from Germany says they get a better look at Ashley. Not even a pix, though.

Damn shame, any word on if this was her in proper armor or that blue jacket in the alternate apperance pack?

Link.

I hope I'm wrong, but it reads to me like this is only "new" to whoever wrote this. After reading it closely, it sound like the same Reaper invasion footage show at E3.

I'm not. I think Bioware does the right thing to reveal as little levels as possible.
I mean c'mon, where would be the fun of discovery,
if we already know how all the planets, space stations or characters will look like?

Outstanding interview at this site. Found it through another thread on this forum. Some points could be considered story spoilers by the overly sensitive.

Well that more or less confirms that the Reapers attack Palaven among other worlds, though we sort of knew that already.

I was more interested in the part about how there won't be much "bonus point" optional side quests, that just about everything would directly impact the war.

No more fixing solar screens, or not much of it anyway.

Other points:

1. The RPG elements are deep, but optional.

2. There will still be some form of exploration, but they are no longer sure there’s going to be any ground vehicle combat or exploration. The Mako was too dull and the Hammerhead was too cheesy.

3. Hints strongly at story-oriented DLC.

4. No ship-to-ship combat. Period.

5. A pretty specific discussion on the “Geth Choice.”

The Yahg have just been confirmed to be in ME3 and there won't be any loyalty missions for squadmates in ME3.

Confirmed during the ME3 question and answer session at today's Gamescom video.

Also, no Mission Complete screens for ME3 - Hurray :D And leveling up will be kind of like, but not similar to, ME1.

Where is all this info coming from? (yahg too)

As I said, yesterday's Gamescom video where they were answering questions from the crowd and from twitter.

Crossing games a bit, but it always makes me chuckle when one of the NPCs calls Hawke a "walking armory" in DA2.

I kinda like Shep being visibly armed to the teeth.

I feel like that was pretty obvious. Mac Walters has been continuely saying that Cerberus is trying to kill you on his twitter.

Yeah, but I know some Cerberus fans have been pulling for Shepard to somehow ally with them eventually in ME3. Good to know that they stay enemies.

I see your point, but I'm just a little uneasy about Ash. That jacket was....wow, just out of character. Sort of hoping that she'll put on something more combat worthy like her Phoenix armor or something.

Is there a video, and at what point in the video? I happen to be on a thread with some people who won't be inclined at all to believe this.

It was on today's bioware pulse Q&A. It was one of the only few real pieces of information they gave out.
