That looks a great deal sexier than the bog-standard omniblade.

I know one thing that would - "Vigil" playing during a final assault (for example the Normandy flying towards a host of reapers)/Shepard's last moments, a "calm before the storm" or some such scenario.sephiroth199127 wrote...

I don't know I'm pretty hard rock, however if ME3 can do something to prompt this emotion I will have go outside and do something manly.

Oh wow yes. I'd really love for something like this to happen. Make us really feel something during those last (?!) moments.

Games and movies don't make me cry. They're not real, after all, and even real life rarely makes me cry.

Strange playing a game with so much emphasis on being an emotional rollercoaster for the player.

Are there any confirmation if it is the console version that is on the pictures?
I can tell with 98% certainty that it's the X360 version, since it seems 9 out of 10 previews from multiplatform games shown are the XBox version, and this is especially the case with UT3 engine games, since the X360 goes up for 'leadplatform'. It goes without saying the PC version will eventually end up being visually superior with better detail shadows, lighting, textures and higher poly-models. Whether or not it will make use of enhanced DX11 features (which could do wonders for the relatively crappy soft-shadows) still remains to be seen.

"Hey I wonder if you can tell us which version of the Unreal Engine you will be using for ME3?"
"March 2010 code drop the rest is custom-built."
March 2010 is not DX11 compatible, only March 2011 and onwards is.

Using a specific engine code with added customization doesn't necessarily exclude features originally not available in that specific build. Batman Arkham City also uses a pre-march-2011 build and it supports DX11.Vertigo_1 wrote...

I'm curious by the way of how easy it is to go from a specific version of a specific engine, and updating to a newer version of the same engine, shouldn't that newer version be backwards compatible? And in the case of UT3, they shouldn't have to pay a new license cost, since they just have to pay 25% of whatever the game makes, regardless of engine revision.

Do you have a link to where they state they are using a pre- March 2011 build?(not 2012 as you stated). Plus they could have had the build that supports DX11 before it was released to the general public?
Aside from that it would be too late to upgrade this late since they are in Final Production phase.

Fixed it, my mistake (sorry!) But no, I couldn't find a hint which particular build they're using, but then again, they're developing it since February 2009.Vertigo_1 wrote...

ME3 won't be released in another 6 months, Arkham City is due in october, which is 7 months after the release of the march 2011 UT3 update, which is, according to your logic, and where you're probably right, too late to use that build, especially since Rocksteady had a complete build of Arkham City in March 2011 (source: www.destructoid.com/rocksteady-has-a-complete-build-of-batman-arkham-city-183076.phtml), comparable to where ME3 is now.Aside from that it would be too late to upgrade this late since they are in Final Production phase.
Also Medal of Honour and Homefront have (some) DX11 support... So it isn't impossible ME3 will support it as well.
And since DX11 support still isn't denied (in)officially NOR confirmed at this point it's still open to speculation, which is exactly what I'm doing, as are you.

no...it looks just like the Soldier's....maybe the animation glitched and didn't animate the actual "blade" part flipping out but that's the Soldier's heavy melee.....
I don't know, it has the bluish purpleish bioticness that a vanguard would have. It seems diff in general, like an IMPACT after the hit.
Edit- nevermind, that is the guys nightstick that is the blue thing. It does seem like more of an impact though.

I doubt that's the Vanguard move. The Vanguard has never had any sort of electrical effects associated with it, be they Overload or Disruptor Ammo. I'd imagine the Vanguard will get a Biotic attack. My hope is that it's a kick of some sort.

Maybe, but that's from the same leaked beta footage that shows double omni-fists, which we know that no one has. I doubt that's a final version of any class's heavy melee.

Different teams (with different publishers) have different priorities. Just because one dev team decides to incorporate DX11 into their game doesn't mean another will (or has to).
We are speculating sure, but with the hints they are dropping such as their aim to keep requirements largely the same as for ME2, engine being used is a heavily modified March 2010 version, it seems more and more likely they won't support DX11.
Aside from that DX11 isn't something I care for right now, I'd rather they focus on the story and gameplay.

I hadn't see this vid ! Thank you ! With a new place around 1" with Geths and a Geth on the ground, maybe Legion, being a (temporary ?) ally.
There is also a floating thing 1'30.... What is it ? Enemy weapon ?
