ME3 won't be released in another 6 months, Arkham City is due in october, which is 7 months after the release of the march 2011 UT3 update, which is, according to your logic, and where you're probably right, too late to use that build, especially since Rocksteady had a complete build of Arkham City in March 2011 (source: www.destructoid.com/rocksteady-has-a-complete-build-of-batman-arkham-city-183076.phtml), comparable to where ME3 is now.
Also Medal of Honour and Homefront have (some) DX11 support... So it isn't impossible ME3 will support it as well.
And since DX11 support still isn't denied (in)officially NOR confirmed at this point it's still open to speculation, which is exactly what I'm doing, as are you.

Different teams (with different publishers) have different priorities.  Just because one dev team decides to incorporate DX11 into their game doesn't mean another will (or has to).

You're absolutely right, I just hope they do.

We are speculating sure, but with the hints they are dropping such as their aim to keep requirements largely the same as for ME2, engine being used is a heavily modified March 2010 version, it seems more and more likely they won't support DX11.

I can understand they would try to keep the requirements similar to ME2's (1.8GHz Dual Core, 256MB shader 3.0 graphic card), since they're close to X360/PS3 specs, but weaker.

Aside from that DX11 isn't something I care for right now, I'd rather they focus on the story and gameplay.

Story and gameplay IS the most important thing, and I couldn't agree more!

Saw the PAX video. All I have to say regarding the ATLAS fight. That better not be in the final product. Dear lord that was some half assed sloppy combat animation by that mech. Half the fight it just stood there turning around in circles.

I understand its only a demo, and not the finished product but seriously. I just needed to get that off my chest.

There's a good chance that demo is already an old build. They still have time to polish the animations.

they also made the demo easier...like below Casual (because dying in a demo presentation doesn't look good and sucks after you wait 6 hours in line for your 15 minutes to be relegated to watching 7 game over screens)

I don't think it's below casual I think they just made it so Shepard can't die.

game demos are always super easy. i thought that was common knowledge?

its a demonstration of how the mechanics work. not a public demo they give out for people to try the actual game itself.

Mind you that's what quite a few people thought about the DA2 demo, then they realised that was actually how the game was when they got it ... :P

I'd expect an mmo if SWTOR takes off.

Hell I'd expect it if SWTOR didn't take off.

I've found Michael's answers to be inaccurate from time to time. I believe Casey Hudson has not ruled anything out at this point. He's said there will very probably be more games set in the Mass Effect universe but, beyond that, nobody is really thinking about what may or may not be in ME4. They're just working to get ME3 as good as it can be first.

I doubt that they're aiming for an mmo down the line. With Mass Effect they've been targeting the console market more and more with each game, and that's a very different market to court than the PC / MMO market. KOTOR was still very much a PC game so it made sense to trasition it to an MMO.

I would love to see a new Mass Effect game with a new protagonist.  Something set after ME3.

Brenon talked about stealth in this thread.  Enemies have vision cones.  You can take advantage of this to flank them.

It would be neat if the next Mass Effect game after part three will be made by Obsidian, which will be an RPG like KOTOR (II), and the same amount of depth as one of the best RPG's ever: Planescape: Torment... but not as much bugs as other Obsidian/Black Isle titles please!

They already did. It's called Alpha Protocol.

So you're saying Alpha Protocol is Mass Effect meets Torment meets KOTOR? I didn't know space exploration was part of Alpha Protocol!
I was under the impression that Alpha Protocol (which I have installed by the way but not really played yet unfortunately, but I am planning to!) is more in line with Deus Ex and alike, and indeed I heard stories of it having a storydepth coming close to Torment, which seems to be one of things Obsidian is good at (KOTOR II having (even) more depth than the first one, aside it's shortcomings, Fallout New Vegas as opposed to Fallout 3, even Dungeon Siege 3 seems to have some depth, so I've read).

I think wolfennights was trying to be sarcastic , referencing that Alpha protocol sucked . . .
At least I think. . . ?

But he listed KotOR 2, Planescape and Alpha Protocol, 3 amazing games held back only by a few flaws (Cut Content/Combat/Bugs)

This has probably been mentioned, but the official ME3 site was updated ...?
Maybe I've just been blind, but if you click the little N7 OPS logo on the top right, it brings you to info about planets, enemies, weapons (Falcon assault rifle ...?).

It's been there for quite some time. They are going to update it from time to time.

I recall someone asking Casey at ComicCon if we'd ever see Shepard again after ME3.  His reply was, "I know the exact answer to that question."  He grinned a bit and went on to the next question.  It's somewhere on BioWare TV.
