57 powers? Add to that all the different evolution branches, and power combos, and you've got a lot of power flexibility in ME3.
Now we just need to know if the exploration will be up to scratch, and then ME3 is pretty much guaranteed to be awesome in my books.

Texmod can also save textures from in-game, including the blank Datapad layer-thing.LGTX wrote...
Why would we need Texmod? If there's an HD mod we need to use, could you link it here please?

I have a request to make for the new project concerning this thread:
Could someone load up Texmod and ME2 and take a high quality pic of the datapad screen that appears when you interact with datapads, upload it, and post it here?
Thanks.

Yeah. Make sense. I'm pretty sure the aging process stops when you're dead so when Shepard was brought back he/she was probably still 29 at the beginning of ME2.Cornughon wrote...

How long after ME2 is ME3 supposed to start? Is it a two year gap again?
1 year since the beginning of ME2, or 6 months after Arrival.
By the way, what will Shepard's age be? He/she was like 29 in ME1, but since he/she was killed and than reconstructed exactly as he/she was, wouldn't Shepard be just about 30 technically in ME3 instead of 32?

So... does it mean that, we will have ten squadmates? 20 (sq spec powers) :2 (powers for each one) =10

Gameplay (apart from atmosphere and exploration) is always going to be a distant second for me after story but this is still pretty cool news.

I'm not sure how you're getting 19 base powers. I count 14 if you include Unity and Fortitude, and that's assuming Fortitude isn't a bonus power but something all classes have access to automatically.
178 points, as others have said, pretty much guarantees we get 9 total powers. I see two possibilities here. Either, a) Fortitude is a baseline power that all classes have, or
Either way, 178 points seems like an awful lot no matter how you slice it, and I'm having a hard time seeing how it makes sense from a points-per-level distribution sense. In all of the demos, it's clear that you receive 2 points per level at least up to level 18. So either that's going to change, and you'll get more points per level early on, or Bioware is going to completely reverse the trend in ME1 and ME2 and give us more points per level for higher levels.
Conclusion? Not enough information.

Fortitude is now Fitness, and all classes have their own version of this Fitness power.

This power is certainly one of the ME3 bonus power (maybe Vega's power)

No, it's not. Every class has an additional passive that is tailored to it in some way. This passive is known as Fitness for all classes, but has different stats for each class.

They haven't shown the bonus powers yet, I'm sure a 9th power slot will be added when Shep gets one.

Perhaps it's not implemented yet. PS, why do you seem convinced that the grenade powers (Proximity Mine and Lift Orb) are bonus powers? I'd put money on Stasis being a bonus power again, but I could be wrong.

I don't take that as confirmation that no bonus powers will return, but I can see why you'd think that with the limited information available.
I just can't see Stasis being main-bar for any class if it's as powerful as it was in ME2 when compared to other biotics.

I'm guessing we'll get to unlock some bonus powers from temp squadmates too. Which means that some squadmates might not have 2 unique powers, some may still have just 1.

Very nice info, I hadn't seen that yet. Answers a lot of questions.
So, what I'm seeing now is:
12 class Specific Powers (6 from ME2, 6 new in ME3)
6 class Mastery Passives
6 class Fitness Passives
4 Combat Base Powers (Incendiary, Disruptor, and Cryo Ammos + Concussive Shot)
4 Biotic Base Powers (Throw, Pull, Warp, Shockwave)
4 Tech Base Powers (Overload, Incinerate, Cryo Blast, and Sabotage which seems to have replaced AI Hacking for Engineer at least)
Unity
Totals out to 37, meaning 20 bonus powers. And yeah, I think 2 per companion is a reasonable assumption based on what we've seen so far (Lift Orb/Stasis for Liara, and AP Ammo/Proximity Mine for Garrus). That means 16 bonus powers left to be revealed. As many as 11 of those could be returning from ME2, but I doubt we'll see all of them make a come back. Specifically, I think Dominate is on notice what with the disappearance of AI Hacking in favor of Sabotage. Neural Shock seems unlikely as well, but mostly because it's such a lackluster power. I hope Inferno and Flashbang Grenades make a return though, using the new ME3 grenade mechanics.

I also don't think we can assume that all bonus powers will be found on a single squadmember, especially since so many potential squaddies can be dead. For example, it might be possible that Ashley and Vega will share one bonus power, both being soldiers. (Actually I think this particular example is unlikely, but you get my meaning.)
