There is no multiplayer, so stop worrying. And even if there would be in the slightest chance, over half of the ME fans would probably kill themselves. So if Bioware would do that, they would start a mass suicide. You know what I'm looking forward to?  Being able to change the site theme to Mass Effect 3.  I've had it set to Dragon Age Origins for too long.

Other than that, I'm spending every day watching for information on Mass Effect 3, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, and River City Ransom 2.

Shiver me timbers! Fine, I welcome MP... as long as the single player campaign is of higher quality than the first two. There, I said it. After all, the fact that game has multiplayer does not mean we have to play it. Now, if ME3 is riddled with bugs and if it was delayed to implement the MP... I'm gonna be pissed.<_<

In recent times there have been rumors about a possible multiplayer mode in Mass Effect. An advertisement of a South African retailer mentioning an online multiplayer pass was discovered. According to him this pass will be next to the Mass Effect art and comic book in the Collector's Edition.

Look at the last line in the ad.

I am not a fan of adding and removing the MP rumour every time it is dismissed and brought up again like I did some months ago.

I'd like to see something bigger before adding it (again), seeing how it is in direct conflict with a dev promise.

I agree with you.  That is hardly a set in stone confirmation.  However, it is troublesome to me, as it looks more legit than others I have seen.  As a consumer and a fan, I don't like being lied to, so I hope this "confirmation" is just another silly rumor.

And for the record, again, for those people who are inevitably waiting to jump down my throat, I don't mind a multiplayer feature.  As long as the single player is up to par, I see no problem at all with including it.  I just think there's a respectful way to go about things and a disrespectful way: lying to your fanbase would be the disrespectful way.

I believe my words were "more legit," not legit haha.  To put that in context: "Not Legit"= 0 credibility, so anything that is "more legit" is really not saying much. 

The only reason I said it looks "more legit" is because this isn't just words from a retailer (e.g. "there will be multiplayer in ME3!"), it also includes a graphic and a specific detail about the multiplayer feature in question: an online pass.  So no, if I was a gambling man I wouldn't bet that this is true, but it has "better" odds than others I've seen: better than 0%. 

This is the skeptical approach, and I'm a skeptical guy so that's the approach I'm going to have.  The two dogmatic approaches would be to vehemently believe (before the game comes out) either A) There is definitely multiplayer, or There is definitely not multiplayer.

I have discussed this with a friend actually, and he and I both agreed: the phrase is so vague it could mean any number of things. And that makes it kinda meaningless without anything else to support it.

I for one do not believe there will be full fledged multiplayer per se. I mean, it's Mass Effect! It has been a franchise built up from telling the story of this one highly customizable Commander Shepard. Maybe there are ways to make it work, but I don't see how that can happen without players losing a part of their experience in the process. And that's all that the game is about, really, the story of your Shepard.

Maybe this was done to build hype on the mag? If so, it's a very cheap shot. And you know what? I'm betting the full article won't even mention that, and this "big reveal" will turn out to be something else entirely (and whether it's "big" or not is yet to be seen). I could be wrong, but that's my take at least.

Until I read it I'll assume they're talking about the "Network" type of hub we've seen on Mass Effect 2 that is making a comeback in Mass Effect 3. Call me an optimist.

 Since they all refer to the same source, the source could be false or inaccurate, not the websites.
I'm not saying that the source is false, but we need more confirm about MP, not a simple advertisment. Maybe a direct confirm from Bioware.
