I traded the scarf (gained in the forest by killing Anthras' wife) to the Hermit for the Acorn?  WOuld that update my "lost to the curse" quest?  At this point I could care less about the reward givin by Anthras, I just want the damn quest to update and be done.  He is nowhere in camp.
