the problem with fast travel is I once ended up underneath the area I was trying to get to (due to a bug). I personally found horses to be more hassle than useful (Morrowind did not have any horses due to Dunmer barbecue traditions)
Note if you finish the DB quests then you are in charge of the local group.
One thing that bothered me about the purification is just how oblivious they were to me doing it one by one. The final one (the male Argonian) who had only just managed to survive one poisoned apple completely disregarded the corpses of others who had died from the apples and Antoinette who had been stabbed to death in her bed and went to his own bed...

Well now how can there be a local group when you killed them by means  of the purification.<LOL> But will agree with you in regards to the purification. Heck I managed to kill all but 2 with apples one was the mage and the other was the Vincente the vampire. Vampire died from an o.d of garlic while talking to the mage assasin. Whats the mage assasin do go back to casting his spells in the training room where they both were. Took him out with Umbra. 3 died in the living quarters at the same table two in the same chair. and Oceeva died in her quarters.

You'll see what happens to the DB at the end of the quest chain
(I actually did manage to kil the mage with an apple (despie his desperate attempts to cure/heal himself)- You would have thought that after selling them he would be more alert for such things)

Well your right I was kind of surprised at the way things turned out to be honest with you. Will have to admit that I didn't think that there was someone switching my dead drops and I was killing off all the blackhand members.<G> Though one of them I got lucky with. Got credit for killing the dark elf in the "A Matter Of Honor" quest and I didn't kill him at all. A couple of bandits did and I got the credit for it. Of course I did kill the two of them as well as for looting all 3 of thier bodies.<G> I'm officially the Listener of the DB now.<LOL> As well as for the head of the fighters guild. I think @ midnight I'll go join the thieves guild. Hopefully it's just a good as the DB was.

You know I just wish tht someone would have told me to do the thieves quests before the DB after all it would have saved me money on  the bountys's for which I had to pay out on the DB quests.  Doing the thieves guild I learned that I could get my bounties taken off for 1/2. Oh well can't win them all. Now I just hope they don't raid Benrus Manor in Anvil or I'm going to prison forever.,Image IPBImage IPBImage IPB

Can you increase an attribute you don't have a major skill in?I'd like to get all attributes and skills to 100 and reach max power level, but if I put a major skill in my specialization skills I end up with a couple skills starting at 30.

Yes, and I'm going to beat it before skyrim especially after watching the 20 minute demo. Now if you will all excuse me. I'm going to die now and lay in a tomb until 11-11-11 gets here. Talk to you all then. Holla.

Oh, definitely. And it's pretty easy to do in Vanilla. You have to work on the skills that the attribute governs. That's the only way, though.

On another note, I discovered Obsurco's Obilvion Overhaul and am in love. Does anyone know if Better Cities will conflict with it? I want to know before I use them both at the same time.

I use FCOM (includes Oscuro's, Francesco's Leveled Lists, Martigen's Monster Mod, Warcry) and quite a few other mods including Banasplit's Better Cities, Unique Landscapes, TNR and Qarl's high res textures with no problem.

I highly recommend using the Wrye Bash utility, as it allows you to customize and select certain options for Better Cities, as well as other mods that sometimes conflict.

Better Cities and Unique Landscapes go very well with Oscuro's IMO, as together they will tremendously enhance the look and feel of the cities and the exterior environments, while Oscuro's will add many new creatures and some quests.

Oh, thanks! But I have one more question (sorry) I tried BC and UL w/ the BC patches and it worked fine for a bit. But then now the game crashes every few seconds after I leave a city and enter the wilderness? Is it something that Wyre Bash can solve or is something just not installed right? The problem is definetly UL because the game crashes now even with that by itself....

In fact increasing attributes without major skills is much easier. Major skills are more of a handicap then an advantage.

I got into Oblivion again for a while this past summer and I will probably dive back into it in October to get me pumped for Skyrim. Oblivion is still pretty fun but it's age is showing.

At close to 50 my age is starting to show as well. But will have to admit even though Oblivion's age mgith be showing ti's a great game with lots of game play time. Unlike allot of others out there. At least with Oblivion you got your money's worth as far as game play goes.

Can't argue with that.  Won't find better value anywhere

So true I payed probably as much or more for DA2 And DA2 didn't have the hours of playability for which there is in Oblivion. Not to mention I loved the DB quest line and now I'm enjoying the TG guest line. Currently doing the Arrow of Extrication quest and trying to figure out how to get by two guards that are on either side of a door I need to get through. 100 plus sneak didn't work. Might have to try a combo of sneak and chameleon. I've got the ring of Khajiiti<sp> and an Illusion spell called "cloak" that will give me a total of 105 chameleon, wonder if that will work. Well guess it won't hurt to try it out. Whats the worse that could happen I go to jail.Image IPB

Replaying it now in anticipation for Skyrim. Having a lot of fun and paying more attention to the lore aspects (like the Ayleids and Necromancers etc.).

I tend to play Elder Scrolls games as a powerful but arrogant Altmer scholar who is proficient in spellcasting.

I just completed the Fighters Guild questline and got that Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw. Looks kinda silly, but nevermind that.

It just put my Endurance at 107. Overpowered Orc FTW.

Will have to admit I thought the same thing about that helm. I"ve got a skeleton key from one of the Daedra quests and my security is well over 100; I think it's now like 120 or so. Seems that using it your security still goes up like you were using regular lockpicks.

Right now I'm currently working on the thieve guild quests. I've completed the FG and the DB. I'm now doing quests for the Gray wolf.

I never finished, sadly. I got the full armor of the Crusader set (Knights of the Nine), and pretty much called it a day.

I tried to pick up Oblivion and play it again a couple of months ago, but couldn't do it. The inventory screen feels way too dated to me now, and it's almost painful to use.

Emelia Palenix tried to do the Fighters Guild yesterday. She got pissed off at how they talked to her and left. She's such a hissy queen.

Not sure who Emelia is but will have to admit that I didn't have a problem with the FG. True at first a couple of them come off as real jerks but after you've proven yourself to them by doing a few quest and moving up in rank their attitude changes for the better. You just have to go with the flow.<LOL>

I could use some help on the Thieves Guild Quest. I get to the back of the Abandoned Shack with Armand and the 2 other people, but nothing happens. He holds a torch for 4 hours, then leaves and goes back to his house. He's supposed to tell me about the diary but he never does.I even got his disposition to about 90 but it didn't help.

Which quest is it, exactly?

Sorry, I have only done about 30% of the Thieves' Guild quests and I don't remember the diary you are referring to.

The first one-May The Best Thief Win. It may be that I didn't talk to any of the beggars, I'll check that later.BTW-You do have to talk to the beggars before Armond will talk to you. I had to steal the book back from another thief though.

I'm starting to close all the Oblivion gates to get the cities to aid Bruma. Some of them can be a real pain to navigate..

Just use the spell water walk to cross the gatorade lava.
