How do you get more inventory space? Is it by getting to a higher level? Also I was just casually walking around and I found this...stone thing and I got this helmet thing that was permanently stuck to my face. I freaked out and I re-loaded from an earlier point. There are so many secrets in Oblivion. XD

Now if you had the names of the items and had posted them I would have been able to help you allot better. As I don't know what stone for which you are referring to. There are Varla and Welkynd stones which you can find in allot of the ruins. The Varla stones will full recharge all of your enchanted weapons but than it's gone. The Welkynd stones will restore your magica. I've got lots of both and haven't really used them. You see I use the Umbra sword which keeps me with lots of filled soul gems for which are used for re-chaqrging items as well. Got so many soul gems I stopped using Umbra.<G> Heck haven't even made any black soul gems in a long while.

Now its not so much inventory space as you've got plenty of that there. You're inventory is based on your strength and the weight of the items for which you are carrying/wearing. Once you are an Expert in Light Armor skill or a Master in the Heavy Armor skill your the weight of your Armor isn't counted against you as long as you are wearing it. That is one of the reasons I try to get my Armor skill as high as possible as quickly as possible.

If you can give me the name of the mask and the stone for which you are referring to.

I completed 166 quests including themain story and all the factions...but still a number of sidequests (Plus knights of the 9) to do (and some I would have to go back to an earlier save point or start again to do...)...but there are other games I would like to get round to playing....(thinks about massive number of games purchased but not started..and the number started but not yet finished...and the ones finished but to be played again and...)

One recent bit of fun was summoning that guy (Haskel? or whatever) on the shivering isles while standing before the steps in front of the throne and seeing his head sticking up through the carpet...

trouble finding the amber matrices..(got the Hammer one...but the other matrices I find (sword, shield, gauntlets, sword, shield, gauntlets, Cuirass, bow, war axe) are all madness)

I couldn't resist having a litlle fun with you. Image IPB I'm currently working on shutting down the gates and believe me I've got a long way to go with them. I think I've got about 10 of them done. I could realy use something that resist paralysis Got them spider Daedra who have a tendancy to use it as well as for some of the others having a sword that paralizes. Not fun at all. But I understand about your having other games. As for me there aren't to many for which I'm into playing. Only one for which I'm waiting on right now is Skyrim.  I do have morrowind which I've never played sitting here as well.

Now as for the Amber matrix's I didn't find to many of them either. I did find most of the Madness ore ones. At least the ones for which I was really interested in. Just don't care for the look of the Madness ore armor. Personally I think the Daedric armor looks better.

Feather spells are your best bet besides increasing your strength when you level or using the fortify strength spells. I also discovered that you can stack feather spells of different names. I can currently carry more than 1000 with all the all four feather spells (plus two custom spells) and my alteration skill maxed. I think alteration is the best skill you can max first. You can use feather and unlock spells you get a lot of stuff to sell.

I just finished the Knights of the Nine quest and am going to start working on closing all the oblivion gates I can.

I couldn't agree with you more on the feather spells as I use them as well very usefull spell if you ask me. As for the unlock spells their great till you get your security up to around 60 and obtain the Skeleton key by doing the one daedric shrine quest Nocturnal. Of course there are times for which I've used the unlock spells as opposed to picking them. I'm currently working on the Oblivion gates as well and I'm planning on closing all 60 of them. Currently working on the ones west of Karvatch.

The thing that really frustrated me in Shivering Isles is the way the knights of Order kept disarming me leaving me fist fighting until I could select an alternative weapon from my inventory (I always carry a few spares)-not easy to recover my sword afterwards...I have no idea where 'fang ended up

That what the 8 quick slots are for or haven't you figured that out by now? You see I have my bow in the first one Goldbrand in the second umbra in the 3rd fine madness in the 4th and welkynd stones in the 5th. Still leaves me 3 more to play with.<G>

The times for which they did that to me I just hit a number and out comes another weapon. I also keep  the Enemies explode spell as well. Remember Stealth can be your friend.<EG> I've leaned with stealth and a good bow you can get a couple of decent shots off before they know what hit them. As for the fang sword I got that at home. Not a favorite of mine to be honest with you there. Keep umbra on me not cause I need soul gems currently but it's a good back up and it don't weigh nothing cause I've not gone back to complete the quest. its still considered a quest item so there is no weight. Now that will change once I go back and complete the quest. But I'm in no hurry to do that.

As for me I've finaly got 54 of the oblivion gates shut down.

Now I'm curious as to something. I've been closing down all of the Oblivion gates for which have been opened since starting the main quest I've only got the ones in the Jerall & Valus Mts left as far as I can tell from the maps. Now the last part of the main ques for which I did was Spies which is done but I've yet to report back to Jauffre due to working on all the gates. Now I know that there is going to be a battle in regards to Bruma. which is located in the Jerall Mts. if I shut the gates down that I find in the Jerall & Valus mts would it mess up the main quest and finishing up the game properly?

Nah, you'll be fine.

AFAIR, the Bruma questline happens quite a while after that point, the OG you're describing isn't plot critical.

From what I remember I think you should be ok closing it before doing the main quest. If I'm remembering it right then a seperate great gate opens up instead of the regular ones for that mission.

Just keep a save from before you close them and you should be grand.

You'll be fine. I actually went around closing all the gates I could myself before continuing with the story and I never ran into any problems.

If you want to have increased inventory space, I suggest enchanting a custom set of armor/robe, rings and an amulet with Feather Alteration magicka to give a boost that has a Constant Effect instead of timed like potions and scrolls are.

Will have to admit that I did learn that there by this late stage of the game.Image IPB Now I've got 58 of the gates found and closed. Does anyone know if they count the final big Oblivion gate as one of the 60 or is there 60 plus the final one?

The "great" gate that opens in Bruma is considered one of the sixty. I lost my skeleton key somewhere, so I have to go through all the merchants and my chests to see if I sold or dropped it there. :(

Great that means I just need to find one more gate and close it as I've found and closed 58 of them already.<G> Sorry to hear that you lost you skeleton key somewhere hope that you find it. Do you have a house you might have accidently stored it at?

I have all the houses purchased. I usually store everything in the crappy Imperial City house just because I always sell at the marketplace and it wasn't there. I hope I can find it or else stock up on lockpicks and alteration spells.

I hope that you are able to find it as well. As for me I mainly sell to the shop in Anvil due to the fact that he's the one with the most gold to pay out for things. Especially when you get your Merchant skill high enough to invest in shops and where it adds another 500 to merchants once you @ master. I think he 0pays out like 2200 gold. I've got over 5million gold right now.Image IPB

I just started replaying this game earlier this week. Playing a redguard, i used the Staff of the Everscamp training regime fresh out of prison. I'm level 24 with all attributes excluding luck, and personality maxed out. All my combat skills and spells mastered minus restoration, blunt, athletics, and h2h are mastered. After completing the Staff of the Everscamp quest, i've a whole set of ebony, deadric armor with a matching pair of claymores, and longswords.

Earlier today feeling like i'm ready, feeling like a G, i decided to travel to Cheydinhal to get my first mage guild referral in my quest for enchantments. Taking the road east of the imperial city, I'm halfway to Cheydinhal, then suddenly out of nowhere ( forgot to stealthImage IPB) i find myself brawling with two ungodly minotaur lords. The damage they're dishing out is rediculous. My deadric armor is in ruins, and i'm running low on potions, so i decided to GTFO. Since i can't fast travel i run south figuring i can get these twin freaks into a fight with a patrolling imperial.

On the way south the s*** hits the fan when i accidently aggro a goblin warlord, witch and the imperial near the lake shore. During the 3 way brawl with the minotaurs, goblins, the imperial dies. Lol with a thud from the a minotaur's hammer the imperials crippled body soars 10 feet through the air skidding on the cobblestones. With the goblins and the minotaurs going at it, and lake in view i jumped in and swam the f*** out of there.

Long story short, the level scaling is fubar.Image IPB
