If you have OBSE installed you may be able to use the setquestitem command to clear its flag (though the ring can be any one of 1c4da, 6b654, 6b655, 6b656, 6b657 or 6b658!) but to be honest it's probably easiest to just install the Unofficial Patch!Redneck1st wrote...
<EDIT> Ok just looked up the ring on Wiki and it was given to me on the LIfting the Vale quest that I did in Bruma. I thought it was. But it's bugged that it remains tagged as a quest item. Guess I'll have to install the patch you mentioned.<LOL>

vometia- will have to admit that I've got no mods at all installed. I am going to download and install the Unofficial patch. Seems I need the one that the did for Oblivian, Knights of the nine and Shivering isles. Probably will do that tomorrow as I'm going to purchase and download the other DLCs as well.
Well I'm going to some frozen cave after some tears of the saviour or something like that there. Bow don't fail me now.<LOL> BTW learned a hard lesson on fast traveling. Never do it without a weapon handy never know what you might end up in the middle of like a bunch of skeleton archers for one.

Oh, I hated that quest. I must've spent an hour trying to find the last "tear".Redneck1st wrote...

With fast travelling, probably best to go to the nearest safe place and the rest of the way on foot to avoid being ambushed (just in case you don't know, you can move the map around by clicking and holding: that may sound utterly obvious but it took me a couple of hundred hours of gameplay to figure it out!) though I found I actually preferred not fast travelling at all: made me put more thought into what I was doing, and the change of pace made the game more interesting for me.

Be glad it only took you an hour. It took me 6 months.vometia wrote...

I looked for hours when I did the quest and couldn't find it anywhere. I gave in and checked some guides, still couldn't find it and assumed it had bugged. So I got annoyed and stopped playing, 6 months later I went back to it and found it in about 30 seconds.

Sometimes things fall through the ground, making them impossible to find; then at some random point in the future they reappear looking all innocent, as if nothing had happened. Or more entertainingly, they hit your character in the face at very high speed, which can be a little disconcerting. Oblivion's physics implementation is, erm, creative.Druss99 wrote...

I wasn't aware of that particular brand of Oblivion crazy.vometia wrote...

At one point I was convinced there was actually a ghost in the game stalking me when things would randomly vibrate on the ground and on tables or start bouncing about on their own. I thought it was some clever quest. I was wrong.
I also thought that a couple of bandits I'd killed were coming back from the dead to have their bloody revenge on me as I looted their camp. I was wrong again. Bloody physics engine...

And yeah Druss I've had crap like that happen, while taking a book, or jumping on a table. Or some times if you walk into a room stuff will load poorly, but Fallout three had that same issue.

For me it's books - quite often I will go into a new building for the first time, and several books from the bookcase will throw themselves to the floor. Items on tables are by far the worst offender though, I think.vometia wrote...

An entire bookshelf exploding in a literary mess is always entertaining; happens often if someone forgot to activate Havok in Construction Set. Placing objects is virtually impossible without mods like Decorator Assistant, which I've found to be essential if I'm not to just pile everything in the middle of the floor. FO3/NV weren't much better; I just hope that Skyrim is a bit more sane. I doubt it will be.Chaos-fusion wrote...

Oh, and don't try helpfully picking something up that you've knocked over in a shop - tidying is an arrestable offence!

Vometa as for the map took me all of about 2 seconds of playing the game to figure out about clicking on it and moving it.<G> After all it's not the first RPG for which I've played.<LOL>
I've also still got the sword of Chorrol or some such like that there that was stolen by a thief and you had to and recover it for another thief. Not sure yet whether I want ot give it to the countess or to the thief that gave me the quest. After all If I decide to do the thieves guild I'm wondering if it will screw that up or make it harder for me?

Has anyone purchased any of them and are they worth getting? I'm thinking about ordering them but wonder what others have thought about them?
Thanks for any information on them.

Now I'm curious about something here. I was looking over the DLC's for which are available for purchase and download. There are a total of 8 not counting the Knights of the Nine or Shivering Isles DLCs.

I actually haven't purchased/played them, but considering you're on the PC (with mods), I will say that I doubt the other DLCs are worth getting, since they are just glorified item packs.
I was mixed on Knights of the Nine personally, but Shivering Isles was quite fun. Very good expansion pack, much better than most of the main game imo.

Vile Lair and Mehrune's Razor are great DLCs. There are disc versions which just contain most DLCs except Fighter's Stronghold (which is free) and KotN and SI. If you are lucky you can find them on sale somewhere. There is also a GotY Deluxe edition which contains everything. Currently still a bit expensive, but definitely worth the price when it is on a Steam sale.mrcrusty wrote...

Now I've got Oblivion GOTY and it had Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles but not the others thats why I was asking about them as well. Working on the collectors quest now. Thanks again for the info I might get them.
