Yes. Its fun playing as part of a group. I tried playing it before on my own and it was too open for me, too overwhelming. This makes it more social and fun.Aslanasadi wrote...
I played it forever on the PC and just started a new playthrough on the Xbox ^^...Which is fun, because we are several friends who are playing "together" this time...I mean each of us as his own game, but we spend the time together - playing and chatting

Then I made up some fake reason that I was busy as a ruse to get him to play. Before I knew it, he was hooked. And so I just sat along and watched him and enjoyed the adventure with him.
Even though I know the whole game from watching alongside him, I popped in Oblivion not too long ago. I guess it's because I wanted to play for myself and also because I am eager for Skyrim.

Since Skyrim will be a Steamworks game, I suppose PC users will be able to "chat" in this way.
The Oblivion Steam chatroom is always empty, but I suspect the official Skyrim chatroom will be full around the time of the release date.
It was helpful with Fallout New Vegas to be able to ask questions in the official chatroom in-game, since there were lots of bugs. For example, I got some good advice about how to manually fix my savegame corruption problem.

I read somewhere about a construction set what is it used for and where can I get it?
It's used for creating your own mods.
You can download it for free here: http://cs.elderscrol...onstruction_Set
Here is a tutorial on how to use it: http://cs.elderscrol...eginner's_guide

I love Oblivion. Not sure how this game can ever get old.... Hopefully Skyrim will be as awesome.
I couldn't agree with you more on that there. I've just recently started playing. Got about 100 hours or so into the game and I love it. Heck I've not even touched doing the Main quests yet. All I've worked on so far is the Mage reccomendation quests and most of the Misc quest. Working on the Collector getting the statues from the Ayleid ruins. With what he's offering to paying its a gold mine quest.<LOL> Even learned something new with the bow as well.<LOL> Check out my earlier post above yours.

Now I know that there are trainers for which you can pay to basicly train you to where you can raise your sills up by 5 pts per level if you want to. Now do you have to got to a paticular trainer to become a master in that skill? For example a master sneak to be a master sneak? Or can will it just happen when you are of hight enought pts in that paticular skill?
If you raise your skill points high enough, you will eventually become a master, regardless of whether you increased the skill by normal activities or by training.
When you get up to a high level in a skill, the increases take longer, so if you go to a trainer it goes a lot faster, of course. And once your skill level is really high, there are no trainers who can help you except for a master.
Usually the masters are hard to find, this is part of the fun, and they give you some sort of quest before they will teach you. These quests sometimes require a little thinking "outside the box" in order to solve them.

It's all just UESP, Redneck1st.

It's more fun to find them in-game, though.

Your right I could have used UESP if I wanted to know the exact answer and not a roundabout one like I said. Because I agree with Naughty it's more fun to find things in game especially on a first play through.
Will have to admit that Wenyandawik runins while searching for the Statue for the collector ques was sure a pain in the rear. Of course it wouldn't have been so bad if I wouldn't have over looked the first time that I was in the area. I mistook it for a Welkynd stone holder. Live and learn as they say. LOL

Information is right there when you need it. But, I understand what you mean. The game's meant for personal exploration.
I don't understand though what thinking out of the box there is the Master Trainer quests. Most quests in Oblivion are very straightforward.

Your right it is and I'm doing allot of exploring,<LOL> Usually things like the UESP tell you where to go who to talk to and what they might or might not have you do? Not whether or not you actually need to do it. Like for the training. As I'm going through game and running into the trainers sure sometimes I'll train with them in one of my minor's as they tend not count towards your level increases. Now the DLC's like Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles for example the stuff for which we find in them areas can be carried over to the Oblivion game and vice versus right? How big is the knights of the Nine is it as big as what I've heard Shivering Isles is?

I play Fallout because it's sorta Oblivion only without magic and with better graphics. It's really the graphics and, maybe, the controls and characters that I'm interested in. Doesn't always have to be about magic. Not always. Often though.
Fallout 3 and Vegas uses the same engine for graphics as Oblivion does.

I am very new to Oblivion myself. Played it a couple of years ago for 10 or so hours, and I started again, with a new character, ridiculous backstor, and an invented class (because the preset classes suck)
The world is so extensive, its the world you fall in love with in this game, not the story and characters. What they say in that regard is true.

I devoted hundreds of hours of my life to this game. I am a powerful Battlemage, with bonus to magicka since I chose The Mage constellation.

Yes but correct me if I'm wrong here on this isn't Fallout a shooter game?

Symathy4saren- the reason I decited to pick up Oblivion and start playing it was I wanted something different to play. I'm not into the single person shooters or the ones for which you've got to play online. Able the mgr @ gamestop told me about Oblivion and Morrowind. So I bought Oblivion and ordered Morrowind. Since I've started playing Oblivian I didn't even open Morrowind. Its still sitting here sealed and waiting to be installed.<G> Thought that I would install Oblivon and check it out a little bit. But that little bit has been about 100 plus game hours.<G>
As for DA 2 it was a let down and not as good as they had made it out to be. You go to the same areas over and over again. Just got to be a drag.

I'm not sure what it is about Morrowind I like better - I suppose the storyline and the game's setting are just more appealing to me. Vvardenfell is just a much more interesting place than Cyrodiil is - not counting Cliffracers, of course.

Greengoron-I've yet to play Morrowind. I've got it sitting here but have yet to install it or play it. I'll get around to it eventually And then we've got Oblivion comming out on 11/11 so I doubt that I'll be needing any games for a while. Now as big as these games are.
Well I'm off to find out about the Unofficial Oblivion patch and see what I need and where to install it. I just hope I don't have to start my game all over again.
