I regard Bioware games as the characters first, and the game itself second. I know I'm not the only person who thinks this way, too. I certainly didn't play ME2 for the gameplay, or the plot.
I thought that the plot and gameplay of ME2 were quite good, even if the cover/vault system was a bit annoying. But I agree that the characters in ME2 were great. Samara is one of the best characters in ME2 for sure. Will be nice (touch wood) to see her again in ME3 - hope it's more than a cameo!

Anyone think we get to learn Samara's real name in ME3 or did I miss that in the Shadow Broker Documents? We know Morinth's name wasn't actually Morinth, and when Samara was first introduced, the tracking officer said, "She calls herself Samara". She gave up everything she owned- wouldn't giving up her name and taking on a new for her new course in life be the same?
Thoughts?

Morinth had a reason to use a different name, she's on the run and traveling incognito. Samara has no reason to change her name unless as you say it is a precept of the Order. I doubt it though.
Well she kinda did, didn't she? Lair of the Shadow Broker documents talked about an Oath of Silence, and how Rila and Falere might be used against Samara- changing her name and further removing that connection to them would be just another step to ensure that.

But did it actually say thay she changed her name or is that just your thought? Because i have read all of it and it does not give any indication that she changed her name.Asenza wrote...

Hn, I dunno how the thought got into my head. It must have been the Tracking Officer who got that into my head. I could swear she said, "She calls herself Samara", and the way that was worded made me think, especially considering the mention that, "Whoever she was before she took that oath, is long gone" that Samara wasn't her real/first name...

Weren't no news, nothing exciting, anyway. I'm stuck without my favorite characters receiving attention, so I don't have business buying the game, or posting in this forum, for that matter...
By the end of ME3, Samara will either be miserable, or she will be dead.

Lovely, isn't it?
It seemed like someone took her line, "I will struggle all my life. When I die, it will not be in a bed," a little too far.

I don't like goading fans in general. Only people who find the Justicars admirable.

I really like Samara but there's one thing I hate about her. Despite the fact that Justicars uphold only Asari law, she seems adamant to interfere in other species business. Specifically, if you take her to Tuchanka, she gets offended at the Varren pit fights (Varren seem to attack everything anyway, might as well get some entertainment out of it) and threatens to come back there and use "Many Bullets" to make them see the error of their ways.
Really? Who gave you the right to interfere? Who made you Hall Monitor of the universe as opposed to Asari Judge Dredd. I guess you could say I'm overreacting but I wish you to talk to Samara about such things and even discuss whether she considers her crewmates a threat as well.
Also, I love how she speaks highly of Miranda & Jacob despite their associations with Cerberus. Only because they don't directly have any blood on their hands. On the other hand she almost seems to reference Thane when she says, "If I'm hunting a killer, do I really wish to know he is a loving father?"
So I guess she's not a total knight templar character but still.
Instead of discussing this, Shepard is stuck gushing over how awesome Justicars are, talking about her family and maybe trying to romance her.
Easy, as a peace officer she has not only the authority but the power to back it up. It may not be right... but it is what it is.

I'm kinda hoping that with melee combat becoming so important in ME3, the squaddies' armor will reflect this to some degree. Here's to some convincing (yet still sexy) armor for our favorite Justicar!
EDIT for top of page Samara!
Something with a retro, ME1 look, perhaps?

This is aimed at any regulars of this fine thread. I'm sure some of you know details of the leak, even if you
choose not to discuss them here. I also know some people aren't happy about the extent or specifics of their favorite character's involvement in ME3. I'm trying to gather summaries of these opinions and more
specifically what they WOULD like to see in ME3.
Would you kindly put together a short point form list of the most important (and at this point, realistic) requests you'd like to see of your character in ME3? Please do not include spoilers or overly specific points that are spoilerish. For example
-we don't want Snape to kill Dumbledore
is still a spoiler. Keep it reasonable. Keep it relevant.
I plan to compile all this information and draw Bioware's attention to it through any means I can. I have started a thread to gather all this information here. You can post there or PM me. Maybe it'll make some difference, maybe it won't.
We can but try, right?
Thanks!

Samara is very samurai like in that she follows a code that replaces the rainbow of good/evil, and unfortunately sinse the game is very western based she isn´t really appreciated by many fans.
Here is hoping that she is a main in ME3 and a LI that you can finally fully romance.
