I've made my decision. If, in ME3, I can help Samara reconnect with her family, I'll choose her. If not, I'll choose Morinth.

Now why would you do that?

Also. Did you not already read the spoilers?

Perhaps not these. Would you PM them, please?

People actively seeking to spoil themselves? I still don't get it.

We have insatiable curiosity and extremely weak willpower.

By and large, I don't, and I've actively avoided seeking out Liara spoilers. However, this would make my decision of what to do on Samara's loyalty mission, which I'm approaching on my ME2 playthrough, significantly easier.

Morinth it is then.

For me it doesn't "spoil" anything. I'm just finding out what I will in 3 months without having to wait - apart from whatever they change, anyway.

Besides, it's one thing to read it, another to experience. I bet I'll still enjoy the game as much as if I didn't know beforehand, just with less of an "omg" factor.

I guess that explains it. I feel sad for you weak-willed humans.^_^

Nothing new, york. And while Dean likes goading fans, he also has a point about Samara ding before or during ME3: it is a very likely (and suitable) ending for the character. Wether or not she's miserable or at peace is still open, however.

And then my Shepard will just go along http://www.fanfictio...Fractured_Soul]this[/url] route after ME3.

AshiraShepard... I was just browsing these fine forums, saw your display pic, thought "Samara, cool. She's a great character". I was going to move on. Then it blinked at me.... I'm still a little scared.

lol

Anyway while I'm here, I totally support Samara in any capacity for ME3. I think she's a really interesting character that should be explored more. She represents the mystique of the asari in a way other characters (even Liara) do not.

Samara was a very interesting character. Hope to see more of her in the Mass Effect games. Honestly, Asari in general seem to make great characters. Morinth was interesting as well.

If you count the info from the leak, yes.

I've been brought up-to-date, and it sounds like a simple retread of Samara's situation in ME2. I thought Bioware would have learned their lesson from reception of Garrus' situation in ME2, that character fanbases don't like retreads. Guess I'm out.

I didn't think about it as so much of a retread... I just thought the person who went overboard on Jack and Thane's background was let loose on Samara in ME3  -and they decided to torture her far more- but you're right, it is very much revisiting old ground.

And the whole whole Sidonis/Saelon thing did legitimately bother me.

Hia guys    =)

I have no idea about spoilers, try to stay as far away from those as possible. But, just browsing DA I saw this wonderful photo with Rana as Samara. Just had to come over and share because Samara is just that awesome!

It is so amazing that Rana took part in these photos, it is like watching Samara live, so cool!

There is a difference between Saleon and Sidonis, in that Sidonis' harm to Garrus was both far more personal and something he felt was proof that he himself was an incompetent leader (thanks to the turian stigma against those who promote subordinates beyond their capabilities).

I'm not sure if I like this situation with Samara, though. It seems quite frankly unfair to her (and her daughters). Not that the last one wasn't, but this is worse.

The whole set up seems overly-wrought, in order to make Samara's character develop on personal suffering. This isn't sadism, anymore, this is villainy.

But why would you think that Samara was putting up a facade at all?

Her personality seemed realistic, not like she was hiding behind a mask or anything.

She overwrote her initial personality with the "justicar" one, which quite frankly seems like some kind of robot a lot of the time. Sometimes even moreso than Legion. It feels like there's only a few times when her programming wavers to show who she actually is.

I can see this.  It will indeed be interesting to see her reactions to things if the leaks are still correct.  (Don't worry, I'm not spoiling!)

She would only breifly let her guard fall with Shepard, but I think we'll see everyone drop their guard at some point or another in ME3, no matter how stoic.
