Yeah I was the one who wrote it :P Here.

Well I don't know. I just think it's easier for certain characters to have fans that endlessly gush about them ala Tali and Liara.

Samara is not a character most seem to immediately like. I was intrigued from first time I saw her in the trailer because mysterious, powerful lady-of-war type characters interest me greatly.

But then you have the whole Code thing and it draws the ire and vitriol of others.

And there's also the fact that she's like what, seemingly the only to have said "no" to Shepard?

You know how Bioware fans can be...

I'm a Samaritan, too! I've loved her for her dignity and integrity ever since I first met her. She truly is a great character. I wish she received more focus in ME3.

We all seem to agree.  Not even a ME3 Samara forum avatar.  Isn't one for Jack, either, and she got that redesign!

I think it may even be as simple as Samara not being a "bro" character.  She's nothing like Garrus, in that respect.

You certainly wouldn't find her shooting bottles at the top of the presidium. No matter how much I loved that moment, Garrus is definitely a spiritual brother if you're just friends with him.

I would have liked the option to meditate with her before she and Shepard go their separate ways to battle.

I just realized reading over the old thread that I predicted one of ME3s possible endings. More or less.

And you guys thought it was silly :P

Which ending, Ashira? What was your reasoning?

Controlling the Reapers.

And I don't think I had a lot of reasoning, I think my thought was mostly influenced by the end of the current WoW expansion at the time because that's pretty much how it ended.

But the basic idea was "Shepard ends up controlling the Reapers." And what do you know...I end up god damn picking that because hey, maybe if Shepard controls them she can make them take care of the galaxy. *Trying to find something good to cling onto about it*

You did pretty much call all the endings of ME3.  That's impressive.

So it's your fault.

I think you know what the code demands...

Ahem but slightly on topic I've always liked Samara and while she didn't get a whole lot of attention in ME3 I liked what we did see and was happy that I was able to save something precious to her when she had already lost so much. It was the least Shepard could do.

I'm just stoked that we got to see Rila and Falere. I think they should have used the Samara/Morinth face model, though, with a recolor/new texture map. I thought Rila and Falere shouldn't have face markings, or at least obviously cosmetic ones.

Those Banshees are trippy looking! Samara was great though. I can't imagine not Paragon-interrupting that last bit with Falere.

I'm so sorry D:

And yeah, I'm so glad that Falere was still alive. I wonder what she and Samara talked about...

Also yes, the fact that the two remaining daughters didn't look like their mother as Morinth did was something I talked about Crimmsonwind.

One suggestion was that maybe whilst Morinth really takes after her mother, the other two take after their "father" so to speak?

Of course this could lead into a chat about Asari Genetics. And we know what happens when we talk about Asari Genetics.

I didn't mind too much that Rila and Falere didn't look like Samara and Morinth.  Asari genetics, how do they work?

It was nice to see Rila and Falere in person.  We only knew who they were from the Shadow Broker information.  I always wondered who they were, and how they differed from Morinth and Samara.

It hurts me to fight Banshees, and not only because they're a pain in the ass.  The asari are my favorite ME species, and I don't like seeing them twisted like that.

Just to clarify. You didn't romance anyone else in your ME2 playthrough when you "romanced" Samara?

Heh sorry for the late answer different time zone =P

Yes i dated no one but my Save told me i dated Ashley in ME1 even tho i dated no one so im not sure if that somehow influenced it.

But dont worry i made a Savegame yesterday where i dated no one in both games and let almost everyone die except Jack and Samara obviously  Liara survived since shes the "shadowbroker" and wasnt in your squad in ME2 =) im not at the point yet with Jack/Samara but from what i can tell they obviously made some mistakes in my eyes for the Squadmate part.
Garrus dead = i just got Liara, James (I totally do not like him except the Loco part) and EDI later on, if i do'nt do the DLC Quest with Javik and as it is now i bet because Tali is dead too i probably will be running around with 4 Squadmates? =O since I never liked Ashley and will again send her to the Fleet to gain som Assets :D so as i know Jack and Samara wont join no matter what im kind of sad.

If any of the Samaritans could expand the dialogue of any of the ME3 scenes where Samara talks to Shepard, or maybe make a new scene where they have more time to talk, what would they talk about? Disregard any personal headcanon, and just add to what's in the game.

I've sort of picked up my drive to write more Mass Effect regards Shepard/Samara. If anyone would like to look into that:

Dreaming After Death

Half venting own feelings and half legit character development for my Shep regards everything.

I like what I am reading so far. :)

Also, Is it true that there is no extra dialog for having done the attempted romance with Samara? Bioware said that there would be. :(

They said there'd be a flag, but as far as we know, no conversation with Samara in ME3 acknowledges the flag.  So, it's true.

I'm pretty sure I've heard that there's romance bugs, so maybe the lack of a flag acknowledgement is a bug too?

On the subject of extended conversation that isn't derived from personal headcanon...

Like I said before, they could have added the offer to meditate with her as a form of I don't know...calming influence. Similar to how Thane left a prayer for Shepard. It's not a "bro" thing and it's for Shepards who preferred Samara's elegant and respectful personality.

Yes, meditating together with Samara would be a great idea. A silent scene, no dialogue, just Shepard and Samara meditating together, side-by-side, in the Presidium somewhere. Maybe, if the "almost-romance" was attempted, Shepard and Samara could be positioned closer together. Holding hands...?

A minor thing that bothered me about the monastery mission in ME3 is that while Falere has a British accent like Samara, Rila does not. I found it a bit jarring. Considering that Rila and Falere have been living in the same location for several centuries, I'm not sure how they'd have different accents.

Hm. I don't think Samara has a British accent. It sounds like an American accent to me. How interesting.
