I'm sure the code had a clause along the lines of no-suicides.

It was good writing, I agree. But I think the Citadel conversation could've delved into it further. Was she disillusioned with ebing a justicar and the Code? Why/why not?

There's no way to be certain of that.  It's speculation at the most.

Does it matter if she was disillusioned?  That's a personal thing, and irrelevant to the Code and being a Justicar.   Unless you're wondering where Samara the Justicar ends and Samara the Asari begins.

Exactly, I think it would've been really interesting to explore that dichotomy in her character.

So there is no Sam and Shep romance or flirting?

No, just what was mentioned on the previous page. If Shepard attempted the "almost-romance" with Samara in ME2, Samara takes Shepard's hand and says a romance-specific line.

I tied to romance Samara in ME2 and in 3 when I stopped her from committing suicide, it seemed to me that there was some sexual tension going on, I wanted an interrupt icon to pop up and steal a Kiss from her right then and there. Ha Ha got ya, but no I didn't get to do that.

Than she took my hands and she told me to spend time with those I love and care about, and I never gotta ask her "What if your the only one I love and care for?"
But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO,

Someone with a more thoroughly serious take on the characters of Mass Effect will have to write that scenario.

Hey folks,

I'll limit my comments to:

I enjoyed the Monastery mission. I was happy to see Samara return, even if it was too brief. I felt Samara's treatment in ME3 was in keeping with my perception of her character (Justicars are not devoid of emotions, just bridling them in and managing them through duty; just as vulcans manage theirs through logic).

I won't be very active on the boards. ME3's endings as they currently stand have spoiled the IP for me. It's still a great game, I'm glad I bought and played it but I no longer feel committed to it. Add to this the difficulty of actually logging onto this board while I'm 2 weeks at work and you won't see much of me anywhere on the ME forums for a while.

It's been fun while it lasted though! <hugs Ashira>

Flamewielder, you, too? All my favorite BSN posters are leaving! I agree that the ME3 endings were awful, but you can't stick around for discussion and creative speculation?

Due to uploading a slew of screenshots I felt in need of a silly mood...if only slightly silly.

A very simplified rundown of my Shepard's emotional response to this mission.

Ashira!  I remember how the Samaratans used to make those captioned pictures.  This brings me back...  And yeah, those were my reactions, too.  I shouted "SAMARA!" when I saw her, and then, all too soon, it's on to the mission.

In the Jack thread, spiros9110 said that this ambient music reminds him of Jack.  I think it sounds elegant, cold, vast, mysterious, elusive, lonely, isolated, and distant.  It reminds me more of Samara.  What do you guys think?

Yeah, I think Samara more than Jack.

My apologies for not being more analytical about it. :P

The theme for her on the ME2 soundtrack will always fit best for her, no doubt, but it's nice to find music outside of the established 'verse, genre, whatever, that suits her.

The "Samara" theme is great.  It sounds exotic, alien, mysterious, ancient, wise, and dangerous.  I know Flamewielder said that "The Long Walk" reminds him of Samara, because he always chooses Samara to hold the bubble in ME2.  He associates the music with her.

There should have been a scene on London with Jack & the biotic kids fighting
Suddenly Samara (if you saved her) pops up and wipes out a ton of Cannibals with a Biotic Wave

Samara: **** Please!
Jack: Not Bad : (

I really like/love her character and actually screamed, "NO!! I have lost too many friends already. I can't lose you too." when I took the Paragon interrupt. Hoped to see her drop the whole Justicar business and become a Spectre or something (Vasir is dead so we are one Asari short). The Justicar system should be abolished honestly unless you are a huge Judge Dredd fan. Or maybe even the new Councillor although none of the ME squad-mates are the politics type. Also, Falere could have been locked up in C-SEC on the Citadel & Samara could meet her there.

I haven't actually finished the game proper because my save got corrupted.
Will play through again on Narrative difficulty until I reach the Monastery mission.

Also, Raptor or Widow for Banshees?

Neither. Use Tech Bursts or Biotic Explosions. They rip 'em apart.

As Samara is my Shepard's bro, he wouldn't ask her to change.  Even though she says that this war may be the end of the Justicar Order, there will still be Justicar Samara, even if she is the last of her kind.  I think Samara will be content with being a Justicar until the day she passes away.

A person in another thread said that they felt like Samara's ME3 treatment was stilted. As in, in trying to condense everything down to such brief appearances, elements of depth and detail were lost, and Samara's character was worse off for it.

I blame both of you for my picturing Samara eating cereal and for some bizarre reason reading the ingredients with the utmost interest. Why? Hangover, pot? No one is that interested in cereal's ingredients.

Unless you happen to be Leng...

For anyone in here that feels that Samara was overlooked in ME3, whether romanced or not, we have started a new thread for all the ME2 LIs, to gather support for ALL of them that were inadequately portrayed.

it's here

I for one was a big fan of Samara, and was disappointed with her VERY small role in ME3.  She could have been so much better utilized!

Why are you sure of that? There might be a suicide option available specifically for a moment where a Justicar can't will herself to follow the code.

IIRC, according to Samara, it covers all possibilities.

I think it'd match how strict and severe the code appears to be if in the event that a Justicar cannot separate the demands of the Code and her emotions, she can do only one thing - remove the Code, I.E herself, from the situation.

Anyone else get the feeling that at the monastery after Falere says she'll stay that Samara lied about the code allowing Falere to live as long as she stayed? I think Samara broke the code or either bent it in order to avoid killing her daughter.
