I admit, I'd rather have them than James. But maybe there shouldn't have been an option to have them killed...

That these characters can die isn't the heart of the matter.  That the games are all meant to be self-contained, and that ME2 was an excursion so that new players wouldn't feel alienated from ME3's resolution of the Reaper threat, means that nothing would ultimately matter, because nothing would meaningfully carry over.

When all of the player's decisions are ultimately reduced to an intangible meta-mechanic, instead of showing up on the battlefield to help, it doesn't matter what the player, or Bioware, does.

I'm sad because my favorite characters are trapped in this wonderful setting that, unfortunately, ended with ME3.

At least there's fanfiction.

How do you imagine a Samara romance going, if possible?

I want to say Action Couple, because I have a weakness for the trope.

Realistically, though, I'd have to know what Samara intends to do with her status as a Justicar.  If she intends to stay a Justicar, I could see them being together, formally, but rarely seeing each other.  And when they do meet, it gets very passionate.

If she intends to give up being a Justicar (or if the Order no longer exists), heh, I could see her becoming a regular cop.  If she weds with Shepard, maybe she'd even join the Alliance (I'd really like to believe the Alliance isn't human-only - I think I saw two asari in ME3 wearing Alliance uniforms).

I can't say that I see her at all settling down.  To return to the role of mother might hurt, a lot.  Lastly, Samara has been traveling the galaxy for hundreds of years.  I think that, by now, her feet would get restless if she stayed anywhere for too long.

This is how I see it as well, Justicar for life.

Subjective, admittedly, but I think it's entirely possible that one can get tired of constant strife. I see my Shepard as having done so, and intending to resign from the Alliance if she survives. Samara could--in theory--at least, maybe, consider trying something different. This might be because I'd see a life of more action after ME3 as being rather anticlimactic and wanting to just let people have peace, but I think it's something Samara could at least consider.

I imagine that if Samara was to give in and allow herself to be with shepard that she would also give up her life as a Justicar. She deserves some happiness, she didn't deserve what happened to her daughters. I would love for her to be able to move on from that rather than punishing herself for the rest of her life.

Especially since the whole point of her becoming a justicar was to legally be able to kill Morinth and give her something unmoving to lean on if it got mentally difficult to do so.

Agreed :) I would prefer if Samara and Shepard settled down on Thessia, however I can also see them righting wrongs in the galaxy together. But after seeing the photo of her and Falere, it looks to me like she would be more likey to settle down.

It is such a shame that BW didn't capitalize on the opportunities presented with characters such as Samara (and Thane)  there was such potential for redemption and rebirth but it seems that bioware baulked at the cost, I don't care what they say, we all know that the decision to railroad characters arcs in ME3 was all about money and nothing about art.

so be sure, even if i have not the time to be around here quite often, i'm totally supporting you and if you have some news for me, i will bring them on snn and post the news with translation for you in here, so that you can see what i've reported :)

Attention Samara fans!

The Romance DLC Survey ends today at 3pm EST.  Yesterday we were sitting  at whopping 7,500 responses! We're trying to get as close to 10K as we can!

If you haven't yet taken it, and are interested, PLEASE pop over there and take the survey (see link in my sig).  It will only take 5 minutes of your time...unless you like to make comments. ;)

Results will be analyzed statistically, summarized into a report, and sent to Bioware.  If you want to be heard on this issue, this is the best way to do it!

Please take the survey and spread the word:  https://www.surveymo...omancedlcsurvey

This will be my last spam of your thread.  Thanks for being tolerant! <3

Good morning and "Glück auf" Samara Supporters!

Need some support from Germany? Well, here I am!

But, let me begin with an important question:
Was "Samara" her name even before she became a justicar? And what's about her family name?

I also would like to know if her bondmate was another asari (but I think so).

Thank you for some answers.

Last but not least, a german Samara-specified joke:

translation: "Shepard! My eyes are up here!"

haha i'm not racimbavic ;)

i just know that romances are for a lot of mass effect gamers (for me too) an important part and i can understand why a lot of samara fans are upset (same goes for all me2 li's especially thane and jacob, but well, all of them) so i'll just keep fighting and in some way, it's my job to be informed :)

so is anyone in here kind of a leader that may can send me some mor information. i can also help to make connection with the german fans or the other fanbase ^-^
well giftfish is another good starting point for connecting all li protesting together, because she run an generela li protest thread:

http://social.biowar...ndex/12870201/1

make your voice up there, it's the best way to let your voice being heard. also you may ask Squeegee84 she's running the Thane campagne and orginized the Thane Poster Project. Maybe she has some advices for you

Agreed. There's so much they could have done with Samara and Thane, and both of them have alot in common. Samara and Thane are both the more mature LI in the game, they both have a kid, are highly trained warroirs, wise, speak very properly, both trying to make the galaxy a better place an dboth stuggle with thier past. God there is so muh they could do, provided that we get the ending that we all are asking for, I would glady pay for a romance DLC to futher the romances with Samara and Thane, to have them back as full LI. If we are willing to pay for it then there is no excuse for them not to do it.

Have you ever seen an interview with Maggie Baird, the voice of Samara? Still looking, can't find any.

Ms. Baird seems rather elusive.  I've never seen her in any promotional material, I've never seen her give an interview about her work for Samara.  She's just...the elusive voice of Samara.

ok since others have introduced themselves i should do the same although my last post didnt do that ^^

im a huge ME fan and i think my favorite side characters are samara and zaeed messani...i know a lot of people have talked about thane here...but i must say that the ending they gave thane was totally appropriate. i was really sad to see him die but he went dont with dignity and i think it was set up very well.

concering with samara...just like zaeed messani and katsumi goto they got way to little screen time and BW has made themselves extra problems becuase they introduced so many charactes in ME 2 that they all needed an ending...which there was too little time for.

my biggest problem with samara and a potential LI is the fact that she has so much emotion but because of her life as a justicar keeps them barried deep inside...and suddenly letting it out for a person she loves is a problem for her. when it comes to a potential love interesting she needs time to return to showing emotion to that extend. and overtime it will return...i think that should be shown and included in such a senario

Gamageddon, they were going to write more for Samara's "romance" in ME3, but, like all of the new ME2 squadmates, she got ME3'd.

I'd like to write something where Shepard is in the last months or so of his life, and Samara comes to visit him.  This Shepard never married, never had children.  He's a solitary hero figure (much like Samara).  They talk for a while, they wade through the romantic tension, and she joins minds with him.  That's as close as she'll let herself get to him.  I'd then write a monologue for Samara, that takes place after Shepard passes, where she ultimately regrets her decision to not open her heart to him.

That hurt to type :crying:

Just been wondering, how long was Samara in training to become a Justicar? And did anyone or any family know about Samara and her family, or Morinth? I wonder if Morinth started her killing spree on Thessia or did she wait till she escaped? If she did start some or at least a little on Thessia, I wonder if Samara knew the family of the victims, or if those family's knew that it was Samara's daughter who was behind it? A lot of this should have been questions to ask Samara, or at least that's what I was hoping for, to get more info on her past.

ok thats really depressing but kind of makes sence...id like to think its more traditional although shepard has to fight all the way to brake through that wall she put around herself. she breaks at one point and all that emotion just flows out....that would make sence in my eyes ^^

im still so curios how BW would have handled that situation
