That said, I think the conspiracy theory thing is a bit overboard. Meh. Whatever. I just want my account back.

Seems EA is under a big attack.
Now it's Battlefield Heroes (same system to enter, due to EA account):Battlefield Heroes is Offline
We are currently investigating an apparent security breach
related to our free-to-play Battlefield Heroes franchise. We are
working to identify which accounts were affected and will take all
precautions to ensure those players are notified as quickly as possible.
We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to have the game back
online shortly.
BTW, no mail from EA regarding the BF:H matter, yet.
yeah I've not recieved any email from them and according to a website which allows you to check by username/email to see if your accounts is one of the 55k that was compramised mine is, I only found out about it from another forum I go to. only thing is I think I've changed the password to that account so not sure which password is in the list that the hackers released, apperently its the accounts of the people who took part in the beta not people who created an account once it was 'fully released'.
I have the boxes of my nwn games(original + the 2 expansion packs, didn't get the diamond/platinum edition nor nwn2) and the cd keys, I don't play online so no worrys about clashing cd keys if they have been compramised.

No doubt some sites like that are genuine, but there is a risk that others are simply collecting e-mail addresses to sell to spammers.
For safety, I've simply assumed my account has been compromised, just in case.

"Tyvärr, men den kombinationen av e-postadress / lösenord finns inte i våra register."
"Sorry, but the combination of e-mail / password is not in out registers"
However, I can now login to the support by clicking on the support button on www.electronicarts.se that didn't work before.
Logging in on www.ea.com, social.bioware.com and on the www.ea.com support site works flawlessly like always.

I had the same problems.
Luckily I was still somehow logged in on the forum on my home computer. So I choose to change the password.
If you're not logged in anywhere I don't know how to do it.
But I think you can still request for the password to be reset somehow.
The big thing is that it seems like the forum wants you to change the password. So just do that somehow and then you'll be good. Any information about this is rediculusly hard to find. Everything is just about the hacked old NWN forums and EA accounts...nothing about the Bioware Social site itself.

Oh and I blame it all squarely on "The Cloud".

OMFG!!!! (SOLVED FOR ME NOW!!!)
ea.com and because I use my EA-account to login to bioware.com ALLOWS for specialcharacters in the password (#$%& and so on), and the swedish www.electronicarts.se DO NOT.

Curious idiot here. Just wondering since I've never played NWN why they were storing more up to date information on such an old server. Feel free to enlighten my idiot self.

I believe that EA reset all passwords of anyone with a Bioware account as a precaution

I was skeptical as well, but yes it's real. The easiest way to tell is to attempt to log in after you've recieved the email. If you get "access denied" then you need to click the link and reset. To be perfectly honest the process is a bit of a pain, but better safe than sorry right?
On a side note, I still haven't worked out why everything was stored on the NWN server. Guess I'll never know

I haven't received an e-mail, but I can't log in anymore (this is a second profile I made because of this). What should I do now?
Go to ea.com and try to log in. Of course, you can't so just click that you lost your password. Follow the instructions and you should get an e-mail that will allow you to reset it. This is how I finally got everything squared away. Hope it helps

To solve: make a new account (if you haven't already), then use it to log into support.ea.com and use the "Contact us" form. You can opt for chat or phone call. Tell them you can't log in, you tried "forgot password" and got no emails. Then follow their instructions. They may ask you questions only the account holder can know. Be patient and use clear, simple language. Worked for me.

Tried that, didn't work. I can't seem to get any e-mails form EA. Also tried the chat, still no e-mail, and they couldn't reset the password themselves and tell me what it is. Something like 1234 would be nice and I could change it once I log in.

I did receive an e-mail about my account when the site was initially hacked, but the link within that e-mail just brings me to the EA accounts website with an error message.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Create a second account, go to support.ea.com, and click contact us.
Input any game/platform you want (I used Mass Effect 2, Xbox 360) and then select Account/Registation followed by User ID/Password Help
You will then get an EA rep in a chat window, they will ask for stuff like the email address of the account, the birthday of the account, the gamertag attached to it, etc
Provide those, and they will then send you a password reset e-mail. Problem solved.
