Exactly, so I'm wondering why I got it

But neither did I sign up on those forums.
Big plus points for bioware locking the accounts before those hackers could actually do something with them!

Problem is... I haven't actually received any emails from Bioware or EA. I went through the Recover Password procedure from another browser, twice even, but 20 minutes later those emails haven't arrived either. I guess while I'm waiting for all these emails, I can kill some time changing any passwords that are similar enough to the one I used here... oh joy.

Are we one of the 18,000 if we got an e-mail about an hour ago?
Some people mentioned they got e-mail to reset their password while I got an email with "we have disabled your legacy Account." with no mention of reset

I got both.
Checked the email that my legacy account was tied to. I'm assuming the old Bioboards were interlinked w/ NWN, as I signed up on those in the KotOR1 days for discussion. It had an email from today (but not from a week or so ago) stating that it those forums had been breached, blah blah.
The one I got in the email tied to my EA account had the password reset. Problem is, as we can clearly see, they were not linked. Two separate emails, two separate accounts. I'm kind of confused as to what's going on, and why my EA account was even an issue. I don't recall ever having linked them together in any fashion.

I'm sure they'll sort things out eventually, but it is frustrating not knowing what's going on and being unable to change our passwords and access our games/profiles in the meantime.

Looks like the link in the email from Flynn was legitimate though (I clicked on it to make sure it took me to the same place as the password reset from the actual site)

Well I am referring to e-mail that was sent out 8 days ago, which was suppose to flag the 18,000 compromised account. The new e-mail doesn't indiciate if we are in that category....or that the number have expanded from 18,000. I hope they will clarify on that so that we may know if we have to be concern with our CD keys have been compromised notMaera Imrov wrote...

My guess the difference in e-mail has to do with where you imported your social.bioware.com. I had EA and Legacy account and if I recall I ended up importing from EA. I never did quite figure out how to bridge the two, and I guess it was a good thing that I never did.

All in all, it's pretty much irrelevant. Pass is changed to my EA account, legacy account never had anything sensitive on it, anyway. Maybe my birthday, but that's about it.
As to those waiting on password reset emails: I finally just got the two I requested before I gave up and clicked the link in the initial email, so maybe you will get yours soon. Haha.

Still waiting on my password reset link. Thanks Bioware for your timely reaction.
We really need to find a way to crack down on these hackers. Wish we could torture their families and then make them watch it all. I mean that's what they do in China at least.

I just now got the email and it also felt inclined to say "EADM is going to be Origin". Not like I care.
I merged my legacy account into EA's new system (yes this is legacy) and I would have lost everything Battlefield, Neverwinter 1&2, Darkspore, DA:O, Dead Space, Mirror's Edge.
It makes me feel real good that I was playing Dragon Age just about two days ago and completely oblivious to this hacking which is nearing ten days in age. I got the email about 2 hours before this post.
