I thought the fuel thing was slightly annoying, and a weird limitation for a covert space ship to have. Like if Batman had to go to a gas station in order to fill up the Batmobile.

Aside from that, it's not really a big deal to me.

Me1's implementation was better - and much nicer to peruse the galaxy - Also being able to see planet names BEFORE you flew to them was a godsend.

But the fuel itself didn't really bother me, it was cheap and readily available, by the time I was halfway through my first playthrough, I'd pretty much droned out and was doing it automatically.

I preferred ME1. You're the Captain. You should say where you want to, tell your crew to "make it so" and wait until it is, not fly around some silly model.

Yeah, that was kinda disappointing. It didn't add anything in ME2, and I wouldn't be surprised if it won't in ME3. I don't know what people's problem was with ME (1)'s Galaxy Map, but the only thing ME2's did right for me was checking where I have had already been to. That's it. Just put that tiny thing in ME (1)'s GM and you're done if you ask me.

More loading screens is clearly a better solution.

Piloting the mini-Normandy didn't take the place of load screens. It just added an extra step before you could even get to the load screen to get to your destination.

Pilot the Normandy, dumb. Fueling stations was even worse. I couldn't explore plantes until after I beat the game and started a replay because. The first playthrough, I didn't have money, or resources to spend, just plain annoying. And then to conserve, you had to explore the whole system before returning to the mass relay.

I found ME2's system to be annoying. Not a big deal though.

Blah, I was hoping they would ditch this 'feature'. As if flying around in a miniature Normandy isn't silly enough, they have to add a ridiculous fuel system which serves no purpose other than to annoy people.

Oh and being a pointless credit sink to!  Dont forget about that  :P   Flying to see Liara really ate up my fuel bill.

I honestly hoped they would get rid of this feature too.  Alas it looks like its staying  :(

At least you can buy fuel on credit. :D

In my opinion fuel and probes is rather stupid idea.

To be honest, I don't care. Either system would be fine.

What i question the most with this system is why did they need to implent it, the only real reason i can think of is that the needed something for player to do while in space (as with planet scanning) and that's about it,

And personally i found this is system rather childish and not very convincing if it comes down on adding immersion or depth to the universe, Shepard is just ploting out the destination of were to go next, it also makes the galaxy map feel like a clutterd board full of toys rather then maps of Systems and planets.

Actually, I preferred travel in ME2 over ME ... it was easier in the long run, while ME1 you had to try and remember which mission was on which planet and sector ... the second game told you as much, so you didn't have to keep jumping back and looking at the quest log before each jump.

I would hardly call it a mini-game, however, as there was no "game" go it ... you simply directed your icon around and there you were.

Personally I don't see how this is a big deal, either way. It is such a small part of the overall game.

This awful Normandy mini-game made me laugh from disbelief when I saw it for the first time, and it is strange this haven't been brought up before. As the game is exellent in many other ways and nothing is perfect, I just tolerated it, but it is damn stupid. ME1 travel was perfect, and I definitely would like to have it back.

Personally found piloting the little Normandy a bit silly, but I can live with it if they keep it in ME3.

I liked the navigation in the ME1 galaxy map, although the galaxy map in that game had problems of it's own (such as not knowing which planets you had explored, kudos to ME2 for fixing that)

The planet scanning on the other hand needs to be significantly revamped for it to be remotely interesting, so I prefer if BioWare put their energies into fixing that.

I think the best balance would be to have the information that ME2 gave us (percentage explored, missions, etc) but with ME1's point and click travel. No fuel micro-management.

ME2's system was definitely quite annoying and unnecessary, ME1 made more sense and gave a better overall experience, IMO. (Except for having no indicator as to which planets you had already explored.)

Edit: Basically this:

I rather have loading screens then waste time at refueling station and traveling. Since developers said they will try too make seamless loading. ME1 had perfect system:
- click on galaxy map
- choose system and the planet and whola you were there with no problems
ME2 system:
- click on galaxy map
- driving Normandy to Mass Relay
- choose ONLY system
- driving Normandy to specific planet
I swear i spent more then half of time on galaxy map just refueling my ship.
Besides what's the point of Joker then? It makes it look like Shepard is driving ship.

I personally didn't mind the flying around. I do agree though that fuel and probes, and especially the mining wore off quickly. I am thinking about playing ME2 again but so not looking forward to the mining. I do hope for ME3 there is a better system for attaining resources.

I prefer an interactive map over the flying minigame.

I want to feel as if I (Shepard) am using interacting with the map directly from the CIC. I highly doubt that Shepard would stand at the railings of the galaxy map and steer a ship around it.

EVERYTHING (except the Reapers) takes place in the Milky Way. Yeah, you definitely need to play through the game.

Hm, perhaps i should just go to bed Posted Image
