This Tileset is sadly never released because of Bioware don't wan't a premium modul in this setting this time, but if I look on the pictures of it, I become sad! That Tileset looks so great! Why I post this? Because maybe some great Custom Content maker may be inspiried by this?
I have one year ago written an email to the creator of the tileset but I don't recieved an answer! The other Models for NWN looks great to, for example the armor! Have a look! :)

I hear you! This This thread might be of interest to you, too. No tileset sadly but a little more info on the subject of abandoned CODI content and encouragement for all who take a stand for more Planescape material. There's also the monthly poll on the theme forthe next Custom Content Challenge, in case you haven't noticed it yet. If you keep voting for Planescape, chances increase that talented Custom Content creators might get inspired and help revive stuff like this.

Yes, that thread is great... but I never understand why the author not upload this tileset. Heard because of the copyright of bioware (because of premium module) but I don't think bioware have anything against the upload now.

It's more likely that wotc/atari didn't want a premium mod in that setting. I believe bat in the hat was the guy behind that tileset, to whom we are all eternally grateful.

Atari didn't care one way or the other, but WotC prevented that setting, in fact, they blocked ANY setting other than Neverwinter based storylines.  NOTHING else, no matter how good, was allowed.  No planescape, nothing in their "other" world lines, only Neverwinter was allowed.  No creatures found in their many other worlds, no cities, towns, characters, etc, were allowed.

Small matter, but actually they blocked anything but Forgotten Realms based storylines as opposed to Neverwinter based, hence why we have Infinite Dungeons (Undermountain) and Wyvern: Crown of Cormyr.

This has come up a few times. When I contacted Schazzwozzer and batinthehat about it, I was told that there were no legal restriction to them releasing the artwork - Schazzwozzer hadn't even signed an NDA - though some of the files had been lost. Schazzwozzer even said he'd upload it to the Vault as soon as he got chance to document it, as he thought if it got released everyone should have access to it (though it'd not be in a useable state and would take work to make it so).

After this I never recieved another reply from him, until I emailed him about using some of his content in Q two years later and he responded quite quickly. I took that opportunity to ask about his unreleased content, to which I again never got a reply.

It's a real shame. The amount and quality of content that the CODI team had lying unreleased is staggering.

maybe they've been paid to NOT release such a good tileset, considering the ageing of nwn :wizard:

It could just be a case of project fatigue. Having worked so long and so hard on it, he/they might not want to release it in anything but a usable state yet can't find the time and/or will to do the needed final work, or find the idea of someone else doing the last 5% of the work uncomfortable (like a parent handing over their baby). I know that feeling myself.

Anyway, as I've said before, it's amazing work and anyone working on tilesets in NWN would be privileged to get the opportunity to bring it to a usable state.

Only thing I ever from Schazzwoozer when I inquired about the unreleased CODI stuff was to talk to
Papermonk. When I asked Papermonk about using CODI stuff in NwnE, he gave the nod. However, any inquiry to unreleased stuff went unanswered. I think there is a lot of hard feeling surrounding that unreleased stuff and it might be best to let it rest. However, this doesn't prevent someone else from tackling their own rendition of the material.

Wotc what fools... there's not likely to ever be another official planescape game yet they couldn't let codi do their thing. We all know how Atari has treated the property, but wotc isn't much better in my opion.

4th Ed. took the awesomeness of Planescape, and watered it down into pandering drivel.. I have never raged more than I did when I saw what the great and vast, immersive and interesting Multiverse was reduced to.

WotC have no idea what their consumers want, and are more interested in ditching their long-standing customers in favor of seeking out the WoW crowd with the oversimplified game structures of 4th Ed. ..Sounds like a certain other company we all used to look to for good RPGs.

I supect that might have been one of the reasons why they didn't want a Planescape Premium module - because they more or less abandoned the setting and don't really sell anything Planescape related anymore. What use to bring it back to player's memories and get them all excited about it, if it doesn't lead to people buying WotC material ... :P

So that they buy NWN? I'm sure there's a sizable group of old Torment fans (not so keen on the overdone Forgotten Realms) who would have gobbled up what Codi had been working on. The decision cost them alot of premium mod sales...

So that they buy NWN and discover you can have fun roleplaying with your pals without having to buy lots of sourcebooks? I can't see how that would be in the best of interests of WotC. ;)

(Mind you, I'm not talking about BioWare or Atari, just the WotC licenses. I'm sure the Premium module would have been a big hit. I for one admit I have never bought any of the Premium modules - except for those included with NWN Diamond - and I didn't like their DRM scheme but for a Planescape module I'd have ignored alll that and bought it immediately.)

It's ironic, too, considering that as far as I can tell the Planescape setting was the most well-received of the settings at the time.

But probably not the most popular, despite the good reviews and the cult following? I suspect neither the Planescape books nor Torment were big sellers when they were first released, rather some kind of underdogs. For whatever reason it seems the majority of players will always prefer the same old standard fantasy that FR offers to them. Nothing wrong with that, I guess, I just could never really relate to it ... :?

I always loved the article written for the /tg/ board's wiki page, 1d4chan, on the artist for Planescape, Tony DiTerlizzi. Namely due to the humorous implication that Planescape and its artwork were better than all the other settings and artists' work, and thus WotC killed it because of that. Basically the Too Good To Last notion. You know. Like Firefly and all those other series that got canned despite being awesome.
