The black grimoire is found in Irving's chest, so the Circle was already investigating the book (or at least Irving was). As far as Flemeth being evil, is she any more or less evil than Morrigan? Morrigan who would rather see kitty possess the little girl. Morrigan who executes her mother's plan, which is why her mother save your character and Alistair in the first place. And why was Morrigan watching your party in the wilds, doing mom's dirty work? She knew Flemeth had the treaties. Flemeth knew the Blight was coming. Flemeth know the warden's would come for the treaties. She had Morrigan watch and wait.
What if both Flemeth and Morrigan have orchestrated an act to fool your character and Alistair? Morrigan true intent is to see the world and bring back a god child.
Morrigan saves your life for her own selfish reasons.

Where is the real grimoire? I have the quest, killed Flemeth, got the robes, and have no grimoire. Not in plot items, not in inventory -- nowhere. And talkign to Morri (at least in camp) give no indication of quest being done...

Real Grimoire should have been in the same chest with the robes. Sounds like a bug to me.
