That is exactly what almost everyone in this thread has been saying--it's not confirmed, but not denied either. You've got a real problem of reading what you want to believe into the words of others.

Not so fast. The article writer still did it, the question is WHY?

charmingcharlie wrote...

I have no problem with backing what I say up.  However like I said I do find it curious that you would use someone paraphrasing what Casey Hudson said as absolute definite proof but you asked me to paste the entire thing.

Because you showed that Bioware did not sayed it, while the article writer still did say it. So, the question was how did the article writer end up with wrong conclusion, what was behind those sentense, what they where talking in general. How the sentense where connected to article writes saying.

If people just take example one sentense from any place, other sentenses around of that sentense can change the meaning of that one sentense. Because you have to get bigger picture to get it hole.

ME trilogy is single player only.

Some clown posts something out of his ass, and everyone else reposts it. That's gaming journalism for you.

Casey already said twice it won't happen.

And why would they make it?
Both fans and reviewers are against it.

No. YOU are against it.
Make the distinction.

No, it's more like YOU are for it.

Multiplayer isn't a bad idea; for a FUTURE mass effect game. It's an AWFUL idea to shoe in to the trilogy at this point.

Splitting development resources at such a key point of the story? I guarantee the SP will suffer, if this is true.

If they announce MP, I will be cancelling my pre-order.

Thats just journalism, not unique to gaming circles. Need I remind anyone about the dihydrogen-oxide scare a few years ago?

Are you calling Ray Muzyka an asspulling clown?

Actually, thinking back to the "emotionally engaging dark second chapter" hoopla of ME2, I'm somewhat inclined to agree...at least when it comes to his ideas of hyping games

The magazine writer DIRECTLY QUOTED Casey Hudson :-

Game Informer wrote .... "As a single-player experience, and just as a world that people want to
immerse themselves in and share, we've been trying to think of a way that makes sense for people to experience Mass Effect with friends," says executive producer Casey Hudson.  "We haven't yet come up with a way to do that, so we don't have anything to announce at this time.  But obviously, multiplayer is something we want to do more of in the future as a company".

See the bit I bolded and underlined, the bit that says "executive producer Casey Hudson" ?  The writer was directly quoting what Casey Hudson said.  So yes the writer wrote it but Casey SAID IT.

For the record, it looks like they're "trying" to find a way to get MP into ME3, but haven't come up with a solution, thus why they haven't announced it.

Ok guys lets say there are co-op horde style stuff ad such.

But co-op stuff could;d also be like someone taking over contorl of a npc during combat missions, such has Tali and so instead of an ai how would you all fele about that

Personally dont see ME3 has needed,., just hope its not require for the game to be played fully and is more of an option.

My bolded; that sounds an awful more like they've been trying to fit MP into ME3 but haven't been able to, and are thus figuring out how they want to implement it in the future of the franchise.

Sounds like it's something they plan in later games and not in ME3.

Well you can infer that if you wish but that isn't the issue here.  The issue is that people were using the Game Informer article as absolute proof that there will be no MP in Mass Effect 3.  It is quite clear from the actual article it DOES NOT rule out MP in ME 3.

Sorry, I don't mean anything what you try to say. Meaning you are talking totally different thing than I.

Meaning you are talking what "Casey" sayed. When I was more interested what the article writer sayed when he/she quoting what Caseys was saying.

The only way MP would be universally accepted, in my opinion, is if they put it on a separate disc, for X360 and PC versions obviously.

So make it a 3 disc game, 2 discs for SP and 1 for MP.

If the SP gets in anyway compromised like Dead Space 2 (I finished it in 6:45 mins) then I'll probably just rent it.

I never thought I'd say that.

Perhaps. As you can see in the June 8 2011 E3 interview with Ray Muzyka, they're still trying to keep their options open and not make any promises either way, whether it will be in the game or definitely NOT in the game.

"Like Ray said, we evaluate lots of tech/designs but as you saw at E3 we're focused on the best SP experience in the series."

Good enough?

Infer? He says "in the future as a company". Not much left to infer there.

It's clear that BW is trying to find a way to have MP in ME3. I have faith that they won't find a way.

To quote the great Jeff Goldblum; "Life MP will won't find a way!"

Nope. Sounds to me like he's allaying fears that the SP won't be polished.

Come on. It's easy to say, Bioware.

"There is not and will not be MP in ME3."

Just say it. It's not hard.

Edit: seeing the question that garnered this response, my suspicions were correct. Casey was responding to a question of the quality of the SP campaign, not a question of MP.

MP status: "stay tuned."
