What the writer is saying in that article is irrelevant, it was just a long winded way of asking Casey Hudson "will there be MP in Mass Effect 3". What is relevant is what Casey Hudson says and his reply clearly shows they are not ruling MP out of Mass Effect 3 and they are not saying there will be MP in Mass Effect 3. It is just Casey being vagued and not committing himself to either situation. So using what Casey said in the Game Informer article as "proof there will be no MP in ME 3" is inaccurate.Lumikki wrote...

That doesn't say there will be no MP. So no, not good enough.

Come on. It's easy to say, Bioware.
"There is not and will not be MP in ME3."
Just say it. It's not hard.
They won't say it until they're absolutely certain that it can't be implemented. Guarantee there is a BW think-tank somewhere in Canada asking each other "How can we fit this into ME3?"
Thus far, they all seem to be looking at each other saying "Uh...."

That depends on what you define as "future" doesn't it ? May I remind you that the Game Informer article came out BEFORE the delay was announced. Now I don't know about you but 2012 could be considered "the future". The fact that there is NO definite statement as to the situation with regard to MP in ME 3 should at least get you thinking "why are they dodging the question here ?"KainrycKarr wrote...
Infer? He says "in the future as a company". Not much left to infer there.
It's clear that BW is trying to find a way to have MP in ME3. I have faith that they won't find a way.

EA wants it in ME3, Vertigo.
Oh I'm sorry but where's your proof that EA wants to take a risk to put multiplayer in RPG even though fans are against it and already have The Old Republic and Battlefield 3 with that team that never made multiplayer and game is aimed to be almost long as ME2 in just 9 months?

Yep, I totally agree with you. I think MP is still being considered for ME3, but they won't publicly commit to it until they have something to show. That's quite different however from stating in clear, unambiguous language "there is not and will not be multiplayer in ME3." Which is why they refuse to make statements to that effect.KainrycKarr wrote...

Reading the rest of my post will answer your question; because they are still trying.
Now, if they are still trying, and won't say yes or no, and are dodging questions with "future" talk, what can we deduce?
They are working on it for ME3, but have not announced it because they haven't come up with a surefire way to make it work.
But they want people to be aware of MP as a feature in futre BW games.
Using "future talk", they give themselves breathing space; if things keep going as they are, and they can't make it work, then noone will bash them for claiming it would have MP because they said "in the future".
But, if they do make it work, then it's like you said; 2012 IS the future, so they were telling the truth either way.
They wanted to make it known that there will be multiplayer, without giving themselves an unachieveable task by confirming it in ME3.

If MP is in, I don't think it's suddenly going to shorten ME3. They've already stated that is should be about as long as ME2 (maybe a little longer). We also know that a fully playable build of the game existed months ago (albeit without VO or polishing/hardening). The game won't suddenly shrink to a third of its size to accomodate MP. If MP is put into the game, my guess would be that it won't be a big part of the experience, or might even be introduced as DLC or a seperate disc/add-on.
You don't know EA very well.

LOL, that Casey can be a slippery one. Still no denial.
Mr. Hudson, "all there is to say on it" is very simple: there is not, and will not be multiplayer in ME3.
Assuming of course that's what you guys have decided on.

Casey is simply alleviating people's fears about the quality of the single player dropping with a MP added. If they can find a way to add a MP. Then they'll do it. If they can't, they wont. Simple as that. So no, not even that part.

Then it IS NOT CONFIRMED that there will be no MP in Mass Effect 3 then is it ? This rumour could very well be true, I don't know. All I am saying is that people going "derp derp Bioware has confirmed Mass Effect 3 will not have MP" are incorrect in saying that. There has been no statement categorically stating there will be no MP in Mass Effect 3 from any Bioware employee. Until you have seen a Bioware employee go "there is no MP in Mass Effect 3" you cannot rule out the fact that ME 3 may have MP in it.

Not possible in 9 months without cutting out something.
And even in 9 months we would not have well made multiplayer since Mass Effect is now on XBox 360, PC and PS3.
