I've finished the 3rd demon battle at the Throne with my consoled-together character, but I've been reading about the rest of the fight and being a newb to Ascension (let alone SCS-Asc.) I'm not sure how I'll proceed.    Anyway, I need to catch up with my legit playthrough :)

_____
On the way to the Keep, there's another ambush.  Tristyueld & Nalia went invisible, and I kept her to the side and soloed the battle.  There's wasn't much that was different this time; Tristy lost against the mage's Remove Magic, but an invisibility potion took care of that.  O/w it was just buff --> decloak with Sunfire or ST --> refresh Mirror Images as needed.  The mage's MGoI still buggily blocks Sunfire, but my buffs took long enough to cast that her MGoI was down shortly after I decloaked.
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

In the Keep, Tristy rested a total of 4 times (3 before Torgal), but did so invisibly so it wasn't too unjustified.  Scouting invisibly let me ambush most trolls rather than vice versa.  The yuan-ti mage battle was fine (I've definitely had problems here in the past with a variety of spell books, particularly when the yuan-ti has Cone of Cold, which it didn't this time).  The yuan-ti cast TeleField and Animate Dead, which raised two skeletons and which let Tristy know he was dealing with a mage he could probably handle.  I invisibly waited out his MGoI since with the bug I didn't have any way of hurting him, but once it expired, it was a standard battle except he had some spell protection spell (minor spell deflection?) that blocked my MMMs, so I had to cast Magic Missile once or twice to take it down.
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Against the umberhulks, Tristy used the dog stew to distract them and take them on later.  Against Torgal, I RPed it by scouting invisibly, though it turned out he could smell poor, unwashed Tristy.  Tristy cast DimDoor to escape nearer the entrance to the basement, and then buffed (with other solo books, I've cast Haste here and buffed on the run).  Heading back, Tristy found them right on the other side of the door, so I cast PfMW and used Sunfires and STs.
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

To kill the umberhulks, after resting upstairs, Tristy used a potion of clarity before attacking since there's no metagaming problem here (he knew they were down in the basement).  For the golems, what I usually do is Haste+MGoI (to counter their Slow)+MMMs, but since my spellbook was low on level-3 spells and I didn't want to rest again, after I killed only some of them, I grabbed the items and used invisibility to elude the awakened golems.  Nalia dominated Glaicus, which freed him and finished all the tasks for the quest.

With that, Tristy declined her offer to travel with him.  (I kind of hate doing that since I find her story so sad - it's really misogynistic that she's in that position, but at least it spares me that one line of hers everyone knows and hates.)  Heading back to Athkatla, he arrived at the Promenade at night and came across some thieves talking to a vampire.  The vamp flees and the thieves attack, and they were easy enough to quell.  With the quest's cash and loot, Tristy made 23,126gp, but since I roleplay it as though Nalia let me take the items and gold in order to keep it out of the Roenalls' grubby hands, in order to keep a reciprocal promise to her, Tristy donates 50% to Ilmater, for a painful 11,563gp donation.

Right before Tristy donated, though, Valen talked to him since he was passed the 35,000gp milestone, and he went to the Graveyard District to talk to Bodhi before the donation so I wouldn't have to deal with the spendthrift accusation.  That triggered the teddy-bear and kidnapper quests, which are up next.

I'd be interested in reading a write up of you CLUAed character's experiences at the Throne. If you'd like to post a guest report in the SCS-Ascension Solo Challenge  thread, feel free: maybe you'll get some feedback that will help when Tristyueld arrives.

Thanks, Alesia!

I haven't had much time tonight, but I have been taking notes on what I've been doing so I'll try writing stuff up tomorrow night (or maybe the night after - I again won't have much time to play but I have some more ideas before I go asking for help :)).  Balthazar and Sarevok (who has a non-magical weapon) have been a pain.

(PS, I love Astrid's portrait!  My mom had red hair when she was a kid and I've wanted it ever since I was very little.)

To be clear, I wasn't offering help so much as soliciting it.

My sorceress, Alanis, No Reloaded the original Ascension and also soloed it on Insane, but I'm open to suggestions on how to handle the SCS version. I was hoping to pick up some ideas from your posts.

(PS, I love Astrid's portrait!  My mom had red hair when she was a kid and I've wanted it ever since I was very little.)

Thanks. I like it too. I like the sort of goofy new wave vibe about it. When I look at her portrait I think of Devo, the Waitresses- stuff like that.

I thought Sarevok was gimped without a decent weapon but there's another side pointed out that I hadn't considered.

But then I also thought the portrait had touches of Daphne from Scooby Doo (cartoon not film version)

A quick visit, thanks to an Elder Orb Imprisonment. in the no-reload thread.
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/182/index/3120942/217#14728007

Vhorl the Cavalier
Spell Turning foils Imprisonment and the Elder Orb is FoABelmed at the second attempt. Once that is done I carefully empty a faceted imprisonment machine and stoneshape a pit for the Swirf village.

To the east is a kuo-toa breeding colony. Five demon knights work through a skeleton warrior and three Deva's, and badly wound me too. After a brief rest I clear the area including a prince and guardians of the exit before turning back to the Underdark where a drow war party ambush turns out badly for them. Adalon transforms my appearance into that of a drow so I can infiltrate their city.

I stock up on potions in Ust Natha (might as well take what I can into ToB) before setting to work. My first task is interrupted as I head to an illithid ambush (Boz and "slay the child of darkness" always catches me out - I was editing this as I moved from Ust Natha to the ambush) but I quickly recover.

I drop Chandrilla and retreat to a narrow bridge where I attack Pitch but Boz can reach over the flappy little beast to hit me. I retreat further and summon a Deva then move forward to lay on hands. From that point the battle is ours and I can return to the matter at hand.

Two skeleton warriors and a Deva help rescue Phaere then I return to the city. Lasaonar and Chalinthra are defeated in the fighting pit then an umber hulk, nabassu, sahuagin and beholder defeated in the animal pit.

The brain of Quilue is passed to Aboleth, then the eye of a beholder is handed to Phaere. After that the helm of a swirf patrol leader is handed in. Then the cloak of Solaufein. After a strenuous 8 hours rest (a paladin's got to do what a paladin's got to do) it is time to visit the temple.

The Matron Mother calls Phaere a fool and tasks me with obtaining one of three items. I have them all but another job beckons so I pretend to obey her orders. Once Deirex is dead and his gear looted I return and all three items are relinquished. Phaere has more for me to do but first I have to deal with Ghaunadorians for Taso Kala.

A sanctuary egg-switch lands both the Matron Mother and Phaere in trouble. I loot their corpses and leave the city for good, stopping only to free some slaves on my way out. As that task is done everybody turns hostile so I cast sanctuary instead of having to force my way out.

A few drow later I make a bargain with Elhan and convince Drizzt not to help me track down Bodhi. I head back to the Promenade where Kruin the wild mage appears. I have no need for his silver sword so hand over the broken parts rather than kill him. Then I provide Cromwell with a wealthy retirement, obtaining Crom Faeyr, the Equalizer and the Wave. I have no need for Gesen's Short Bow though so dump the parts.

After doing some shopping I track Bodhi down to the graveyard lair. My plan is to turn undead so I equip EasthavenSentinel to minimise any attacks on me. I have to meleeBodhi though so I'm glad I thought to summon a Deva before facing her.
Posted Image

I return to Elhan (no interest in the three small areas), and take a direct route through Suldanessar to a green clearing. Improved Haste Carsomyr works until I am buffeted away, but on my return the dragon is toying with my Deva and a skeleton warrior so a second haste finishes it off in next to no time.
Posted Image

I return to free Suldanessar then decide to have a final stock-take before confronting Irenicus. Once his three parasites are dead only Kitthix stands between he and I. Then a Deva. I join in but Carsomyr fails to dispel his fireshields so I retreat and re-equip to foil his flames. I've added a Spell Turning and finish the battle as my Deva is Mazed.
Posted Image

Irenicus is dragged into Hell and I am taken with him. Five tears of Bhaal are required and all have to be good choices to avoid becoming a fallen paladin;
Wraith Sarevok. Wisdom/Charisma +1.
Blackrazor. +2 to all saving throws.
Selfless path (-2HP, -1 dexterity, XP loss but still 8m). +10% magic resistance.
Immunity to fear without the nymph cloak. Immune to +1 weapons and less.
Talking to a dragon. Fire, cold and electric resistance +20%.

Time to finish Irenicus, only for Deva (1 of 14) to land the final blow.

Why didn't the Spell Turning cause the Elder Orb to Imprison itself?

Nice update, and good going passing the Hell Trials. Would have just sucked to become Fallen now with all that summoning goodness Vhorl has access to.

Tristyueld is still alive!  I lost interest in his spellbook for a bit after I discovered these two bugs (Incendiary Cloud can "hit" you for no damage and dispel your PI and trigger your on-hit contingencies), but I've decided to keep going at least until the bugs start affecting things.

Congrats on getting Vhorl to the SCS-Ascension thread, Gate70!  It took guts to nerf him when you got there.

Tristyueld did the teddy-bear quest, and decided to follow-up on a rumor Nalia gave him that the Copper Coronet had slaves in the back.  It was routine (invisibility - buff - attack with ST and Sunfire), up until the very end.  I'd run out of damage spells except a single Sunfire casting, and there were 3 Copper Coronet guards still shooting arrows at me in the main room.  I lured two of them away into that long back hallway to kill them with the Sunfire, and had to kill the other with just the staff.  Lehtinan needed better guards, because my little elf won in melee :P
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

After resting, some invisible scouting let Tristy ambush the hobgoblins.  He used MMs and MMMs on the otyugh, but failed to go invisible before it closed in on him, and so the otyugh slowed and sicked Tristy before it died.  Tristy used one of his bhaalpowers (Cure Affliction, per aTweaks) to cure himself of the sickness, waited out the slow effect, and attacked the jellies with MMMs and Sunfire.  At this point, my resource management had been so bad Tristy needed to go back to the Copper to rest before clearing out the rest of the sewers, solving that random puzzle, resting yet again (I've been doing terribly!), and killing that first group of slavers.  Oddly, the "better calls for help" component of SCS2 brought that second group (the one from the NW) into the hall between the slave cells, but not so far as the room of the first battle.  This was convenient since it let me hit them & the yuan-ti with the same area-damage spells (to some extent, anyway).
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

The next day, the kidnappers were easy enough, but I discovered a glitch: I decided to ignore Reti and let him flee, just killing the dwarven ringleader and freeing the noblewoman.  When I left, he was still hanging around the outside of the door!  I guess it's a scripting thing, but Tristy now has another pair of boots he'll never use.

Trademeet next!

Tristyueld tithed, and headed out to Trademeet.  He survived an ogre ambush to make it to the town.  There, he told Cernd he'd meet him near the grove.  One point of interest was the SCS2 spiders, whose web bypasses (to my surprise) both MGoI and PfMW, forcing Tristy to roll a save v. spells.  Killing the trolls outside the troll mound brought Tristy to level 13, and he took Farsight, Lower Resistance, and Mislead (again, my modded version).  Inside the mound, it was just a matter of running around "collecting" the trolls so the area spells could have maximal effect, after buffing with PfMW etc.
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

After resting invisibly, Tristy attacked the druids who yelled while attacking trolls that they were Shadow Druids.  But he didn't want to go around assuming every druid was a Shadow Druid, so when invisible scouting revealed the next batch of druids, he buffed behind a rock and then tried talking to them.  They attacked, as he kind of expected, and Sunfires and MMMs kept them from casting aTweaks' Woodland Creatures (aTweaks Nymphs autoblind you, and Tristy'd have to DimDoor out if that happened since there's no counter save True Sight, which he doesn't have yet).  After they died, just two skull traps and some Magic Missiles killed off the batch of trolls in front of the Ogre Tower (which Tristy didn't steal from).  After buying some potions from the rakshasa-in-disguise and resting, invisibility let Tisty bypass the Spore Colonies (there's no RP reason to kill them since they aren't threatening the town) and meet up with Cernd.
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

On a whim, I broke my plan and took Cernd along.  Tristy and Cernd rested (with Divine Remix, picking the druid spells is quite fun), and scouted invisibly, falling back and buffing upon seeing the Shadow Druid welcoming party.  (Tristy's buffs included SI:Conj, for the insect spells, of course.)  I hadn't had Cernd memorize any fire-protection spells, and I didn't think to buff him with Tristy's PfFire, so Cernd was just in the way.  He had to pull back as Tristy used skull trap and sunfire; a Fire Elemental followed him and was doing a number on him, so Tristy spent nearly a round fishing some extra-healing potions out of his pack to toss to Cernd.  The close call in this battle was where an Adherent managed to summon a Nymph.  Great timing had a ST detonate right as the Nymph materialized, which was enough to kill it (which is sad in a way, since it's good-aligned).  The leadership challenge went really well.  Cernd had saved his spells for this; he had cast Iron Skin on the way in, whereas Faldorn had pre-cast Resist Fire, Cold, and Regeneration.  Cernd cast two different insect spells, and then used his summoning spells, getting 3 hamadryads and a fire elemental.  While the hamadryads kept Faldorn charmed half the time, Cernd's shapeshifting and the fire elem kept the damage output up.
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Back at Trademeet, Tristy decided to kill the genies since he and I both think they're screamingly evil, as they're starving out a bunch of civilians to coerce them into doing the genies' own job they're just too lazy to do.  (Plus, there's no way I know of short of scroll-spamming that Tristy could beat the rakshasas.)  His buffs included both SI:Abj and SI:Conj since I/Tristy can't remember whether they cast Maze or Imprisonment.  With PfMW, it's not much hassle, and Tristy goes on to do the Skin-Dancer quest and the dueling-families quests.  His rep has been 20 for awhile, so he buys the Cloak of Displacement and the Belt of Inertial Barrier.

I realized I forgot to keep track of my income, so I don't know how to tally Tristy's charity/tithe.  I'd drop that RP practice except it does seem to be making a bit of a difference with the money-constraining components I have.  I'll have to manufacture a number to donate next.  (edit: I'm just going to guesstimate 15000.  Hopefully I'll soon reach the point where I've made so much money the 10% donations won't make a difference anymore and I can ignore it.(

@Satyricon - Yeah 15k is how much gold you need to get to Spellhold if you didn't add any mods that increase the price. Also, Cernd is win, but maybe I just think that because of Final Fantasy XIII-2 seeing as Noel and Cernd have the same voice actor, and kind of the same voice.

Alright, I've decided to try to get as far as I can in BG2, before BG:EE is released!

First update on Amara.

Major Battle: Kalah
Tactics: First we attacked his buddies, and then moved onto Kalah. Amara cast Cause Light Wounds, which basically killed him because everyone else was regularly attacking Kalah.

Major Battle: Shape shifting Creature and Pieces of Nightmare at Innershade
Tactics: All the usual stuff except for casting Negative Plane Protection on Jaheira. Also, Yoshimo got chunked so, no more Yoshimo, but lucky for us Viconia is a Cleric/Thief.

Major Battle: Shade Lord
Tactics: Negative Plane Protection on Amara-Lee. Adrian cast Breach on the Shade Lord to get rid of his protections. Minsc used Berserk.

Amara-Lee: Cleric/Mage - 9/11
Jaheira: Fighter/Druid - 9/9
Minsc: Berserker - 11
Mazzy: Cavalier - 10
Viconia: Cleric/Thief - 9/11
Adrian: Sorcerer - 12

Reloads: 0

Note: Difficulty set on Core Difficulty, and doing good so far. Also, as for the lack of screenshots..I keep forgetting to to press the Prt Scr Key. Heh.

Thanks, SapphireIce! Actually, I decided to retire Tristy. Just to fess up, I reloaded when I realized I forgot to have Cernd cast Ironskin, and it was such a small thing I didn't want it to count, but now I feel guilty and it's tainted the playthrough for me. So, I'm sorry about that and next time I'll do better. In a way, it's just as well since I've had more RL work to do lately.

But -- best of luck with Amara-Lee! I like your playthroughs since they always have such a light-hearted feel, and I'm a fan of cleric-mages, so it should be good. Adrian's a great mod and you're in for a treat if you haven't already played through with him.

Ouchies, and have fun with the RL stuff!

Adrian seems to be quite fun with his snarkiness!

Major Battle: Unseeing Eye
Tactics: Amara used the rod, everyone else regularly attacked, and Adrian and Amara were using their magic missile.

Major Battle: Tanya (Adrian Mod)
Tactics: Took care of her buddies, Amara cast Death Ward on herself, then Adrian and Amara cast Magic Missile, while the others attacked regularly.

Amara-Lee: Cleric/Mage - 10/11
Jaheira: Fighter/Druid - 10/10
Keldorn: Inquisitor - 11
Anomen: Berserker < Cleric - 11 < 13
Viconia: Cleric/Thief - 10/12
Adrian: Sorcerer - 13

Reloads: 0

Note: Anomen got turned to stone, and thats why his cleric level is at 13. As for Adrian he seems to be really snarky, especially with Jaheira. Also, Adrian dislikes Anomen, but he seems to be fine with Keldorn, and Viconia. Also, I do believe I'll have to try my own sorceror someday.

Major Battle: Faldorn
Tactics: Amara used Magic Missile, Cause Light Wounds, and Acid Arrow.

Amara-Lee: Cleric/Mage - 10/11

Keldorn: Inquisitor - 12
Cernd: Totemic Druid - 12
Viconia: Cleric/Thief - 10/12
Adrian: Sorcerer - 13

Reloads: 0

Note: Tiny update, and yes, I replaced Anomen with Cernd. Only time will tell if that was a more prudent choice or not.

Major Battle: Bhaal
Tactics: Amara used Cause Light Wounds, and Magic Missile

Major Battle: Balor
Tactics: Attacked regularly, using whatever magic would work on the demon.

Major Battle: Suldanesselar Dragon

Major Battle: Irenicus
Tactics: Used Summon Deva and Fallen Deva. Also cast Horrid Wilting.

Major Battle: Illasera
Tactics: Magic Missile was used, as well as having Adrian try to out run Illasera so she couldn’t hit him. Heh.

Amara-Lee: Cleric/Mage - 16/15
Jaheira: Fighter/Totemic Druid - 15/16
Keldorn: Inquisitor - 20
Imoen: Adventurer < Mage - 21 < 20
Adrian: Sorceror - 20
Cernd: Totemic Druid - 24

Reloads: 4, all of them on that dragon. First time he chunks Imoen, Second time Adrian. Third and Fourth time he Chunks Amara.

Note: So many weird things happened since the last update. For instance, Keldorn killing Viconia in hell after I thought I talked him out of it. So, curse you Keldorn for making me five man Hell. Err...Adrian had a sudden alignment shift. I dualed Imoen in Chateau Irenicus, but when I got her back in Spellhold she was a thief again. Very weird stuff.

Final Update.

I've been having a stoneskin/ironskins bug. In which the person with Stoneskin/Ironskins on can't really cast other things on themselves, or things that remove Stoneskin/Ironskins(I thought it was working, but I was very wrong. Hah.) Also, with BG:EE coming out on Wednesday, I don't want to worry about completing this before then.

So, heres the last update. So close, and yet so far.

Major Battle: Kiser
Tactics: Used Horrid Wilting, and had Keldorn use his True Seeing. Also, a finger of death was used.

Major Battle: Phyldian
Tactics: Used Horrid Wiltingx3.

Major Battle: Gromnir
Tactics: Took care of his buddies first. Used Horrid Wilting, and summon Deva.

Major Battle: Wraith
Tactics: Took care of his buddies first. Then, cast pierce shield, and horrid wilting as well as Negative Plane Protection. Also, Summon Fallen Deva was cast.

Reloads: 4.

Doing a quick bump, and saying that you can go to the BG:EE Minimal Reload Challenge thread to post your BG2 exploits, or keep posting here if you wish to.
Heres the link: forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/14574/minimal-reload-challenge-spoiler-warning

Also, you can still keep posting in this thread if you want to!

Good luck, and have fun for any future challengers.

Goodguy (Corey_Russell) - Cleric/Mage and Badgirl (Dogdancing) - Fighter/Thief Update:

Ages ago, Goodguy and Badgirl started a trilogy no-reload run in BG1. We got stopped in BG 2, but we continued our run with reloads. We had to stop playing for quite a while, her work got insane, car injury hurt her mouse hand/arm, my computer had to be reformated, software re-installed, etc. I did make a backup of our save, which is how we are able to continue our run still. We finally had a chance to resume our game, here's the account:

Goodguy and Badgirl had just broken into the Saradush Jail and defeated the vampires in there. Dogdancing hasn't played BG for ages, so wasn't even sure how to to do many of her own abilities, like GWW (which would have been handy this fight...). But in any case, Goodguy asked Badgirl to de-trap the trap by the door. It was slow going, so Goodguy summoned a skeletal warrior to pass the time - the summon set off the alarm! Ooops...intense battle then commences, Goodguy is forced to summon a vast army to hold the tide - he does win the battle, but Badgirl is slain. Being a cleric, Goodguy resurrected Badgirl and made her full heath and the duo pressed inward.

Summons dealt with the time-stopping mage. Goodguy and Badgirl were then able to finish the riff-raff on this floor on their own. For the next floor, Goodguy does a lot of buffs and they battle the enemies. Goodguy deals with the enemy mages, while Badgirl worked on the melees - this worked well, and no one died this time. Also Goodguy got a level - he can summon a planetar now! Goodguy has the party rest in the pocket plane, return, buff to the max and battle Gromnir and his forces. This time Badgirl uses her GWW and things are much smoother, Goodguy brings out summons as needed, and success.

Melissan finds us after the battle and tells us of Yaga's invincibility - we will have to take care of that. So the party sold their stuff, pocket planed and then appeared in the Wilderness, and ended our session here.

Goodguy (controlled by Corey_Russell) Level 23 Cleric/Level 19 Illusionist and Badgirl (controlled by Dogdancing) Level 21 Fighter/Level 24 Thief continue their adventure...
Areas Battled: Wilderness Area, Forest Glade x2, Yaga's Temple

Goodguy and Badgirl investigate the Wilderness area...lot of Yaga's troops here, but with the help of summons, the duo took them out without much trouble. Here's a screenshot of that action.
Posted Image

Goodguy tried turn undead at Nylee's Glade, which destroyed some but many undead were just in fear. As a precaution, we had Badgirl put protection from undead on herself (Goodguy is immune to level drain thanks to AoP so it's less of a problem for him). Didn't work so great, so Goodguy summoned a planetar to finish this powerful undead enemy. We press in and with summons we defeat the undead here as well, though it took quite a while...Nylee says she will help but needs Yaga's heart and her heart...ok we have a goal.

Think I should mention weapons at this point. Badgirl is using Sword of Mask/Sling of Avoreen, and Goodguy is using Gromnir's +4 Flail/Sling of Seeking. As soon as Badgirl gets a proficiency point will put in Bastard Sword so she can use the Foe's Bane +5, which is so much better in so many ways. She can't backstab with it, but she rarely bothers to backstab anyways, as she tanks to keep Goodguy safe, though he's pretty capable now.

In any case, we make it to Yaga's Temple, surface area. The plan was to put up summons, haste group/summons with group haste, then burn down the giants as fast as we could. This mostly worked, but Badgirl got killed so had to stop and resurrect/heal her. While looting the giants we had already killed, more spawned and the duo wasn't ready - Badgirl in particular was far away from Goodguy and his summons. Goodguy came to assist fast as he could. Badgirl tried to tell her character to move, but it didn't and she took two big hits dropping her to like 20% heatlh. Finally she was able to run, and use RoR heal on herself. She then "trained" Goodguy (EQ term), but that was OK, Goodguy's summons did interference, and Goodguy slinged away with his 1 APR...(I miss my fighter characters!) Success!

Time for the huge fight inside the Temple - we buff to the max, including what potions we have. Dogdancing gets confused, and thinks HER character is Goodguy. She isn't isn't worried when "Goodguy's" character is surrounded by 4 Fire Giants, she assumes I know what I am doing...well she's right I do, but my character had already moved to a side room for cover as he got under attack and his defenses (mirror image/stoneskin) were burned through...Badgirl then died...time to adjust tactics. Goodguy knows tanking is a bad idea (at least it is with his current spell set), so he goes invisible, does cloudkill via wand, invisible again, and cloudkill repeatedly out of sight...lots of cloudkills, at least 12 going, and of course the giants heal themselves while this is going on...but his patient strategy pays off..the cloudkills kill them all!

Ok resurrect Badgirl again..by the way, should be mentioned that both characters have >100% fire resist via equipment for this section. The next 4 areas that have to be cleared to turn off the force field where cleared mostly by summons/ranged attacks/traps. Goodguy was extremely impressed with one of his summons named Chan - this guy slammed one group of enemies fast, we spawned the next group and he slammed all of them fast too before he expired. He's like a walking army.

One of the groups gave us trouble the many fire trolls, sword of mask can't kill them nor can energy blades. We paused and Corey_Russell looked through Goodguy's inventory - ah yes Frostreaver! Badgirl has no skill at all with it, but this fight was exactly why Goodguy was holding onto it for her. He handed it to her, and right about then Goodguy ran out of energy blades. He checked his own flail, oh it does cold damage too! Excellent, now the party cleans up the mess with the help of a mordy sword tanking. Should mention mordy swords extremely useful for the entire temple, as they tanked great to allow the duo to sling the giants dead.

We aren't using the Cloak of Mirroring for Badgirl as the graphic gets in her way. We finally make it to the next level. Ilbratha, energy blades, and a GWW see the initial giants off. For many of the next group, Goodguy would "pull" them (another EQ term) to the small opening, we kill the fell cats then sling the giants, who were unable to reach Goodguy and Badgirl - easy kills. We did this several times.

Next major fight was Imix - Planetar, 2 skeletal warriors and Goodguy did most of the work here. What was funny was Badgirl set off many of the traps, which is ironic considering she's 1/2 thief, including a maze trap (ooo, would hate to run into that trap solo). Imix necklace was a great upgrade for Badgirl. It's hard to go wrong with +3 AC for a thief, that isn't even armor.

We pocket plane, have Caspenar do a few upgrades, and do our last shopping spree in Saradush. We then head over to Nylee's Glade and pick off a few undead that we missed earlier who ran away from Goodguy's turn undead. We buff to max and talk to Nylee. The spike traps go off but they weren't effective for some reason, so it's a pitched battle. Goodguy calls his summons into to action, while he sanctuaries and gets some distance. Badgirl got hit with some disabling spell and couldn't do anything (perhaps stunned) and was killed. Hmm up to Goodguy again. Goodguy goes invisible, and regroups. He summons some more friends, sends them to the battle without him, and buffs some, then he moves to assist. The planetar finally kills Nylee, and the summons/Goodguy concentrate fire on the surviving shambling mound - success!

After getting Badgirl up to speed, the duo think they have made enough progress for one night have ended their session here.

Goodguy (Controlled by Corey_Russell) Cleric/Mage and Badgirl (Controlled by Dogdancing) Fighter Thief Update:

The duo crashes Yaga-Shura's Siege camp. The duo both had mirror image up, and some summons. Goodguy did Storm of Vengeance, Dragon's Breath and also refreshed summons to replace ones that got killed. Badgirl did hardiness and all her WW and GWW -- combined this destroyed Yaga.

The Oasis enemies were defeated almost the same way, but not as many spells were needed by Goodguy as his summons weren't killed fast like at Yaga's camp. Badgirl was laying in the hurt on the enemies with her GWW.

The party ended their session in Amkethran, each player has about 7.3 million experience.
