It's 'mass' got to big and it collapsed in on itself. Anyways it won't be end of Mass Effect just Sheperds story, lets face it the guy/girl needs a holiday anyways. I'm thinking he or she might go fishing.

lol I don't see how Shepard will not be a basketcase after all is said and done.  The things he/she has seen as well as done would drive anyone else to insanity.

as said before this is just the end of shepard's story. there will be more games within the ME universe just someone elses story instead.

Bioware *used* to be a company that moved onto new IP after virtually every title. Until ME, Baldur's Gate was the only game they ever released a direct sequel to.

Whilst I have no doubt that EA will keep producing games in the ME franchise well after ME3 - whether Bioware will be at the helm, and whether they will be RPGs or not, is another question entirely.

I can imagine him/her now with pants down running around in circles flapping his arms and clucking like a chicken in the middle of the Citadel come the end of his story, due to what has gone through bound to have a few screws loose. Failing that (if) survives which probably won't then he or she will have lost the plot and gone off alone to a random planet living with thresher maws shouting "get off meh porch" with straw hat on all the time before sitting back down on his rocking chair.

Bioware has spent the last 6 years building one of the most definitive titles of our generation. Mass effect has since then expanded greatly and picked up many fans along the way. I have become not only fond of the gameplay of mass effect but also emotionally attached to the characters and story. Seeing Commander Shepard grow into one of the greatest heroes of gaming like masterchief, i dont want to see it end and im sure lots of fans dont as well.

The only viable reason to end it is because of the final reaper invasion, but who says they are the only threat in the universe. Like Soveriegn said there is a relm of existence beyond your comprehension. Give me your thoughts on Mass Effect ending and ideas on how they could continue the series.DONT LET MASS EFFECT DIEPosted Image

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Shepards story NEEDS to end after the final destruction of the reapers.

Why you ask? BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT TOP THE REAPERS AS A VILLIAN. Seriously, how are we supposed to take day to day galactic threats seriously when shepard JUST curbstomped the Reapers? And trying to increase the power of shepards foes past the reapers would just be silly. Oh they'll destroy the galaxy even harder oooooo.

The Mass Effect universe can be used in an RTS, an FPS, an MMO after Shepards story is done, but Shepard cannot be involved.

It'd be like making a cop drama where the main character is God with a capital G, there's no tension.

This. Having even more powerful enemies will just turn ME into another Dragon Ball Z (not saying it was bad, but...). No more external threats to the races of ME. What would be good would be a shooter (1st or 3rd person) or RTS or both set during conflicts/wars set before ME1.

As long as they're not dragging out the Reapers to other games and show that they do have some imagination, I don't really care.

Stories do but not settings.  No reason  to not go back to the setting.

I would like for future mass effect titles to be prequels; if it is a small story after the reaper threat, I personally would like to import the state of the galaxy, which would be very costly on bioware's part.

So prequels are a go go!

thats because they didnt really have their own IP. they would use other peoples, such as D&D for Baldur's gate.
the entire reason they dropped Kotor and gave it to obsidian was because they wanted their own sci-fi IP. so they made mass effect.

the reason they dropped the D&D license was because they wanted their own fantasy IP, so they made dragon age.

EA does not own mass effect, they dont own dragon age. they own bioware. while they COULD in theory rip it from them, i highly doubt they'd do so. as bioware is basically one of their top developers, they wouldnt ****** off everyone at bioware for a quick buck that'd kill a franchise.

not if you set it a couple decades in the future and set a super vague canon and allow for shepard imports for history.

by canon i mean something as vague as "the reapers were defeated and none of the races were wiped out" wouldnt really need to get much more specific than that.

The dropped Kotor and gave it to obsidian in order to make Jade Empire (there own IP) not Mass Effect. At least that's what i believe to be true.

They said the same thing about Halo and look how far that's come. Again I think it's just the end of Shepard's story not Mass Effect as a whole.
