Seriously.... Bioware has portrayed Shepard as a Male from the beginning.... Up and changing that at the end is a kick in the nuts kinda. Why not save the female marketing for a new character in the ME universe....

Yea, I am totally OK with Femsheps (half of my Sheps are Femsheps) but I do not want her on the cover of the ce. Unless she is modelled after Natalie Portman. Then she had better be on the cover of the CE. Or else.

^ This. Replacing Mshep on the cover is like one of Laura's lakies being featured on her cover for Tomb Raider and expecting people who've seen the ads for TR in the past to pick it up. All it will do is confuses these people, " I thought TR was about a girl." Same with ME, " I thought ME had protagonist was a guy." She could be featured on the inside book but not on the main cover. I hope its a variant like comic books have buy cover A with Mshep's cool art or buy cover B with fshep's cool art.

You are misinformed. Both fem shep and male shep will be on the cover of the collector's edition. And unlike Tomb Raider, the Protagonist isn't static, and can be customized to fit the individual's desire.

Exactly. People who would go "I thought ME had a protagonist who was a guy" will learn a thing or two by seeing both possible protagonists. Better advertising for the game.

Now that you mention it... my soldier femshep looks a little like a tanned Natalie Portman with dark blonde hair. Maybe I should send her face code to BW...

Wow, people complain about the most umimportant aspects of a game. The cover?!? Peopleplay demos and watch trailers of the game, I doubt they care about th cover except for a small group of people.

And why have Femshep on? The first two had Mshep on, so they should keep it going. Its dumb having femshep or both on. That would have been like Bungie having MC and Arbiter on the cover of Halo 2.

No, actually it wouldn't be like having Master Chief and Arbiter on the cover of Halo 2. The protagonist of the Halo series is clearly Master Chief. Previous marketing for mass effect would have you believe that the protagonist is male Shepard, but this is false. Both female and male shepard are the protagonist of the Mass Effect series. This is about equality between the two genders. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

So please, stop your whining.

no they wont.
the regular edition still has MShep on the cover and the collectors case is in a N7 sleeve so unless your a long time fan or just a big spender you wont be seeing Femshep.... unless you watch her still work in progress trailer.

If you don't want Femshep on the cover, don't buy the CE. Simple as that.

I'm a little surprised that people are so against the idea of having her on the cover of the CE, even though Sheploo is ALSO on the cover.

I partially agree because I do not like the way the default female avatar looks.  She looks like a grade school teacher or a soccer mom who would have trouble carrying 30 pounds in one arm. She just looks silly and out of place. I've seen some believable modded versions, but the default is less than spectacular.  Listening to current fans may not be the wisest decision. Such a strategy may do more harm than good if they are looking to attract new customers.

My advice, for what it's worth, if you are going to market a female avatar, spice her up a bit. Give a mohawk and some biceps. Something.  Those hair and makeup model versions I typically see are kinda laughable.

They're not using the default Femshep as the marketed Femshep. They're creating a new one for the trailer, which I'm assuming will be used for the cover art as well.

That wouldnt work. Most of the people who play femshep are guys who want to watch "HAWT ALIENZ LEZBIAN SCHMEX"(oh yes they are. Dont fool yourself ppl) so if they made femshep all bulky and scarred they wouldnt get their fix.
