Now it's a slap in the face? You just sound really insecure man. Honestly, just let it go. You don't have to justify your preferences to anyone.

trollin trollin trollin, keep this thread a rollin

its cool that i can dismiss you as a dirty troll now though, thanks for that.

How is that trolling? He likes Meer's voice acting, which is often criticized. He doesn't have to get all worked up about something entirely unrelated.

I love how you always try to twist things. Stay classy.

I'm a Mass Effect fan, and saying there is any "correct" way to play the game is asinine.

It seems pretty clear to me that the writer was just expressing an opinion through rhetoric; I wouldn't take it so literally.

You seem to have misunderstood that Sheploo is canon; as has been said so many times by the devs, the marketing Shepard is just the "default" Shepard and is not canon (there is no canon Shepard).

I still laugh whenever someone brings up this 'canon' debate for the ME games.

Besides this isn't about who is canon or not, it's about the cover and the cover only. I could just imagine some people refusing to pick up this game if they saw Femshep on the REGULAR cover which probably won't happen and even if ME3 gets rave reviews/critical acclaim etc they will simply not accept the game purely by it's cover.

Example, see Final Fantasy XIII.

Way to take my post completely out of context.

I'm not sure what kind of reviews Final Fantasy XIII recieved, but it was a pretty big departure in terms of structure from other final fantasy games(i.e. The most linear **** I've ever played)

I agree, which is why saying "femShep fans would cry sexism" (paraphrased because I am too lazy to go back and copy+paste) was dumb.

Here is the problom Femshep fans to Cry Sexism at the drop of the hat, it isnt An Exageration

oh please. femshep fans have made 100+ page threads freaking out about super minor things. denying that is laughable. comparing the two just makes you lose your credability.

dont remember how they freaked out they didnt advertise femshep in kestral armor? :police:

Dude, what the hell is your problem?

So, the femSheps want to see femShep in the DLC armor before they throw money at it. They'd like to see her in trailers. Big ****ing whop-de-do. I'm sorry you got offended over one article, but for crying out loud, not every goddamn femShep fan is responsible for it.

Its just looks like that you and a couple of other regular posters in your thread have come into this one (which should be a celebration for many femshep fans) and made a big issue over two or three words used by a journalist.   Just gives the impression that your feeling a little bitter and upset by all the new attention.

Although I stand corrected of course as your reply points out.  Just wanted to let you know of the impression your giving.

I play both male and female Shepards and I'm happy for femshep being in the cover and all, but I hate when people start to criticize default maleShep/Mark Meer (which are both awesome) saying things like default boring bald dude etc...

There are fans of default manShep out there you know?

That wasn't meant to be spiteful, so I apologize.

This thread from what I've read is nothing to do with who is canon or not but there are certain people who while they might acknowledge femshep's existence in the ME games won't ever accept her on any cover or marketing whatsoever simply because they believe Sheploo is the only one worthy of the cover because he is male and femshep is female.

I know people that would definitely not buy this game if there was a femshep on the cover or for ME1 and ME2.

How do you know the people who post in 100+ page threads about some random FemShep thread represent a majority of FemShep fans? The games have each sold at the very least 2 million copies each by now, so I think we can say there are probably at least 2 million people who have played Mass Effect. Where are you drawing your demographic/statistical data from to make these claims about the "majority" of FemShep fans?

A few persisten malcontents on these forums are all it takes to drive a thread to 100+ pages, as people with opposing opinions flock to them and post repeatedly in an attempt to shout them down.  Hell, somestimes all it takes are individuals--look at smudboy, and Sylvius the Mad for example. The fact that a thread may spawn over a hundred pages says nothing about majority opinion, or lack thereof.

The Kestral Armor info was relased, bunch of people got their knicker s in a twist cause there  wasnt  a picture of femshep

some starts a thread about  music videos firs tpage theres some one complaining about Femshep

these are pattenrs of behavior that repeat themselves, maybe you persoanly are not responsible but that dosent excuse the actions of others

A very vocal handful does not indicate majority opinion. In fact, that the term is usually rendered "vocal minority" should give you pause before issuing generalizations.

Escapist has also caught onto it and posted a similar article.  Not so biased this one.  Although they make distinctions over "canon"  but whatever :P

I wholeheartedly believe in your sincerity, but you have to understand that default manShep has the spotlight 100% of the time.  femShep has nothing.  That’s why we created the site, to fill the void and support femShep in all her many incarnations.  I can assure you, no matter what goes on elsewhere, the site is not about bashing Mark Meer or screaming sexism.  It's just something fun to do.  And that's why this is good news.

I don't think you understand what  a lot of "femshep" users were actually complaining about.  I believe the issue was down to the fact they only did a "Male" armour.  If you use the Kestral Armour on femshep she looks flat chested.  I personally didn't care if they showed us a picture of femshep wearing the armour or not.  What I would have liked is to have been warned that there was no "female" variant of the armour so I could have saved my money and not bought it since it was clearly meant only for the Male Shep.

As for femshep appearing on the box, great to hear, not that bothered about it because to be honest it won't be MY femshep so it is neither here nor there for me
