Okay, i was just wondering which one everyone preffered and would like to see in ME3. Personally i prefer the elevators and hope they make atleast a small return, maybe use them while your on a hub world, but when your on your way to the world, use a load screen (or whatever)
Thoughts?

Oh man screw the elevators, I hated that in ME1, took forever to get where you needed to go,
the loading screens I can deal with, but they need to load quicker, ME2 had it right but loading time
was slow as hell

I just liked the elevators because of the banter. Remove that and they can might as well remove the elevators.
Other than that, I don't really care how I'm getting from point A to point B.

yeah i suppose you are right. What if the elevators were quicker? My major problem with the load screens is they break continuity. Although I suppose im not really bothered haha, still pretty excited for the game!

I don't mind, really. But what's really silly is to have load screens and then have to wait for the damn things to finish, like in ME2.

You can have banter without elevators.
I didn't like them because A. they were still clearly load screens but one's that didn't allow me to wander off for a moment because there MIGHT be dialogue and B. they didn't even do their job since you'd still get that stupid LOADING message as soon as you stepped off.
I prefer the load screen from 2 though they could do with shortening the time but it sounds like they're going to take a page from Uncharted 2 and Dead Space 2 and work in ways to load in levels seamlessly as possible.

I hated the ME1 elevator in the Normandy. Shepard could have walked up the stairs quicker!
The other elevators were actually quite cool for purposes of banter or news reports etc. Sometimes I went in them just to hear more dialogue
I hear banter is better in ME3 anyway so elevators probably aren't necessary. As long as they're not tedious and in places you have to use a lot, I'm not too bothered.

I think the loading screens are good. Gives me the chance to stretch or go to the bathroom. Don't really care if it's breaking immersion or whatever kind of lame excuse there is that's popular these days.
It's just a game.
It's just a game.

If it's banter you want, you don't need elevators for that. DAO does it with triggers in certain locations, for instance.

This again? Just make a poll.
I prefer loading screens.

Exactly and it feels a hell of a less artificial than the elevator system.
Its a shame they only used it that ONE time in ME2 with Garrus/Tali but hopefully we get more of that in 3.

If the loading screens were as pretty as they were in DA:O and DA2, then I'd want that.

I don't mind either, believe it or not. For some reason, based on the quick cut you saw of it in the trailers, I thought the "renegade" sex scene with Jack was going to be on an elevator as some kind of tongue in cheek reference. Missed opportunity, BioWare! jk

I admit the elevator in the ship was a little fustrating but after seeing the loading screens I miss it.. As for the citadel, I'll miss those times, I always wanted to see what Wrex, Tali, & Garrus would say next!

As long as there is content to keep you interested elevators are fine, the main problem in ME1 is that the banter or radio announcements filled up only half the time of the leaving you staring at the walls and twiddling your thumbs

When I got ME, I didn't mind the elevators, even when they didn't have any banter or news. Then I registered on the old boards and everyone was like OMG ELEVATORS ARE TEH SUXXORZ. I thought, "I must be doing something wrong".
But I digress. I think elevators are better than loading screens. Not having them in ME2 wasn't a dealbreaker or anything, but I preferred the ME1 system.

Don't want them because I don't need them. They weren't put into ME1 for the banter. They were put in to hide how long it took to load the next area on the XBox. So even on my fast up-to-date gaming PC, I am limited by the XBox's loading times? No thanks. The only elevators they were able to speed up for the PC version of ME1 were the ones that did not feature banter or news broadcasts or anything like that. If I want news, I'll hit a news terminal. Banter? Another vote for the DAO banter system please. Then I can decide to stop and listen or just keep walking.
I'm not opposed to there being an elevator scene of some kind if it's part of the story. If it's NOT an elevator I have to travel up and down ten times on the Citadel or something. ME2 had scenes in the landing craft that were a nice touch. More of that, please.

the only good thing about the elevators was the banter. put banter in different spots and bam. elevators are worthless.

I preferred the elevators. Think about it. In ME1, the loading was integrated into the game through the elevator sequences, which gave you something to look at and listen to in the meantime. In ME2, you got the standard boring loading screens. Worse in my opinion. I'll take the elevators anyday.
