Elevators. That's not even a question. Guess what? It was a loading screen in disguise. It would've taken just as long to get where you're going watching a traditional loading screen. At least we had squad banter to pass the time. With the ME2 loading screens it was a meaningless animation. In terms of immersion, consistency, and squad development, the elevators were superior as a gameplay mechanic.

That's only true if you're playing on the XBox, chief.

Loading screens for me. I never played ME1 but ME2's loading screens aren't as bad as some people say.

If the loading screens were as quick as the one going from anywhere on your ship to your cabin, then i wouldn't mind but since their not i'd like them faster or sort of masked. Please do not bring the elevators back it was on of the thousand gripes i had with ME1 -,-

I liked the elevators but they did an okay job at the loading screens too, it could have been worse.

I'd say keep the elevators though. But if its going to be a long elevator ride then just black the screen and transition you to the the next area.

Elevator conversations would be better in my opinion, if there were a lot of them and they changed according to your decisions/current squad.

I want seamless loading, regardless of the form it takes; elevators, ladders, cutscenes. The fewer load screens I can tell are load screens the better.
Banter should be spread around and not just during elevators and other loading screens.

Elevators, as much as they annoyed me in ME1 they did provide for some quality party banter time. Something that was sorely missing from ME2. I mean what gives? You have two mute squaddies following you around, atleast have them through comments at each other.

Most elevators on the citadel could be avoided since there was a fast travel option in ME 1 so you could go all around the citadel pretty easily without using elevators. The only elevator that was annoying was the Normandy elevator but other than that I didn't have a problem with ME 1 elevators and I always used them, didn't fast travel.

I played ME2 first, and then when I played ME1 at a later point I'd heard how bad the elevators were. Started using them and actually thought they were 10x better than the ME2 loading screens; the cheesy music mixed with banter/news broadcast was actually much more fun than "press [button] when in situation X so that you can do Y" load screens.

Too bad the Squaddies were completely mute after you did every ****ing planet known to mankind.

Elevators >>>>> Loading screens
IMO Loading screens break gamplay atmoshpere while elevators and decontamination chambers were a good and realistic way to hide loading without breaking the atmosphere

Uh, I found the gameplay atmosphere in the elevators to be broken when I hear the *SAME REPORT FOR THE 20TH TIME*

Nothing serious that can be implemented. Anyway is still better than the freaking mute load screen.

Somekind of elevators like the ones on Dead Space 2 would be a nice improvement

Ah yes, elevators. The things that disguised loading times in the first Mass Effect, everyone complained about until the developers removed them. We have dismissed reimplementing them.

This further proves that having people vote on femShep was a bad idea. People just don't know what they want :P

Of course elevators are way better than a plain loading screen.

Elevators sounds good. Just put party banter with them. *looks at wrex*

Don't care about the elevators, since their only redeeming quality was the banter, and we'll probably get plenty of those elsewhere.

I never protested against them however they implemented loading screens in ME2 but a lot of people disliked it. Some kind of improved elevators with music and news is more appropriate IMO.

These people you were referring to are pretty much the same who were complaining with MAKO exploration in ME1 and what was the result....no exploration at all in ME2....I think the majority would like game features implementation rather than elimination altogether

Yep the elevators were better... It was quite a clever mechanic that should have been expanded/refined rather than discarded...

In ME2 we could have had squad conversations in the shuttle and news reports from there...

Loading screens kill the immersion.

Now I only played the PC version of ME1 so maybe on xbox those rides lasted for eternity but on PC there were fine and really added a lot of perceived size to the citadel.

Loading screen that goes away, when loading is done would be nice. Elevators and animations are there until game is done showing elevator ride or animation. They are cool for a while, but after some time you have seen all of it too many times.

I'd say I liked the elevators more because of team talks and the galactic news.

Just make the elevators go faster, the news reports longer and the team talks longer as well. Please.
