Somewhere along the lines of this anime.

I can't wait to see who they get to play Shepard and I wonder how they're going to do Wrex, Garrus and all the other aliens (in the live action film that is). It should be sick! I'm so stoked!

They're gonna be awful. I WANT them to be awesome, but I really haven't seen any videogame film adapted well. Pretty much....ever.

I mean seriously, can you imagine how Wrex or Grunt's going to look?

<sigh>

Resident Evil: Degeneration was better than the live action movies because it was true to the source material and characters, but until I find out who the director is, I'll give the live action Mass Effect the benefit of the doubt.

Interesting. I'd be interested in an Animatrix style film, a bunch of short, well produced, different art styled, self contained stories, by some of the greats of modern animation.

I hope all the game voices don't get recast for the animated film, dumping the established actors for 'big names'.

I'm particularly nervous about the rumour that the film will be about the First Contact War. Can't see there being a film in which the earth is saved because an Alien UN which the Humans knew nothing about decided to step in at the last minute, so retcons are pretty much guaranteed.

I can't wait, I will see them. I hope The Movies have nothing to do with TIM or the known series. I don't mind if it having something to do with the Asari and Turian, that be hot. Yes we need aliens. :D I am sure the two films will be interesting and great, I know I will see them. I hope it be mature and Rated R just like the games, it should. Mass Effect is not for KIDS. I been heaing too that The Live-Action movie will be before the know series, I don't mind it during the known or after or something new. I hope we get to see The Asari and Turians, also some other species beside Humans.

The Tomb Raider movies turned out decent, IMO.  That's about the only one I can think of.

I'm looking forward to it. As long as the anime isn't like Halo Legends.

Film Adaptations are one of those things that I quite like, like remakes.

If they suck, I can ignore them and pretend they never happen. If I like them, I end up with awesome additional content to enjoy.

See, the animated one I'll probably pass on, because generally speaking - beyond comedy animation, I can't stand animated films. Live action though, as long as they don't grab the worst actors known to man, I can deal with.

My fear is that they will both suck horribly and bomb in the theaters. I'd be horribly embarrassed just by association.

Why do you not care for animated films?

Mass Effect has the potential to be a really good movie, but it really depends on the plot. The main story of ME was great, but making a movie based off of it would't be a good idea. They would have to leave way too much out. They would be better off making one set in the Mass Effect Universe. We wouldn't want another crappy movie like The Last Airbender.

Just haven't enjoyed any beyond Shrek, Toy Story and Disney. I have a hard time being drawn into the worlds I guess.

*shrug* Its no biggie, I don't hate them or anything, just get really bored watching them. I keep trying every few months with a new one...meh.

Subnote: Oh, I guess my first post did look rather strongly that I hated them - but I don't. It was a poor choice of wording. Coffee hasn't kicked in yet ;)
