Now that I think about it...these were already in ME1.

Liara and Tali occasionally flared up with biotics & Omnitool, respectively, at some points of conflict. Not often enough, I say. Please extend this to Shepard!

I wouldn't mind not using them in cutscenes. What bothered me was the fact that, with all of this social stigma regarding biotics, Shepard (as a vanguard, adept, or sentinel) is never mentioned as a biotic even in passing.

When it comes to guns

I get that they just want Shepard to carry the assault rifle because it's the most widely used gun. But clearly Shepard's on-hand assault rifle changes from scene to scene depending on whatever weapon he/she is holding. So...why can BW just apply a general gun-holding animation, and apply it the the assault rifle, sniper rifle, SMG, and shotgun as well? They all basically need to be carried in a similar fashion, and the in-game engine could handle the necessary sound effects and muzzle bursts associated with each weapon. The only thing anyone would need to worry about would be the firing rate.

Yeah, that was another thing I noticed in LotSB. When Vasir was trying to repel Shep with biotics, you'd think Shep would have pushed right back with his/her biotics. Obviously they wouldn't be as strong as an asari, but trying makes more sense than not to.

Actually, Tali compares Kaidan's biotics to the asari saying that they are the only ones that compare to it. Meaning he is roughly on par with an asari commando in terms of biotic abilities. But Shepard spikes higher than Kaidan. That would make Shepard more than a match for an asari.

As for the topic, cutscenes may be harder to do. If they can't do it at least don't make them suck (e.g. Tela Vasir vs. biotic Shepard). However, I think they can throw in a few optional dialogues mentioning Shepard's biotics or tech abilities. The dialogue in ME2 was too generic to me (e.g. Gaby saying the commander is bored if Shepard is an engineer, sentinel, or infiltrator).

Wouldn't say that Tali is a definite judge on biotics since the Migrant Fleet had little to no biotics, but Liara is definitely a match for an Asari Commando according to "lore" (ie cutscenes and the comic).

It seems pretty common knowledge to anyone what asari commandos (and asari biotics in general) are like and Mordin knows that asari are more uniform in distribution in terms of biotic abilities than humans to make a reasonable guess as to what they are by randomly selecting one. You could argue that asari like Vasir are outliers and thus may be evenly matched with or more powerful than Shepard and I may agree but I'm speaking of Kaidan and Shepard being more than a match for your average asari commando which is what I think that other post was assuming. Not necessarily your cream of the crop asari commandos like Vasir or matriarchs like Benezia. Tali, or any quarian, saying they are better than your average asari is indistinguishable from some random NPC of any race telling us what they were like. Nevertheless, a biotic Shepard doesn't think too highly of asari commandos when talking to Benezia after killing them all.

When it comes down to biotics

Well, we obviously don't need six different animations depending on their respective class (though that would be nice). All we need are three, like in DAII.

Adepts and Vanguards are both viewed as biotics in cutscenes. They get the same animations for given situations.

Engineers and Sentinels are both viewed as texperts. They get the same animations for given situations.

Soldiers and Infiltrators are both viewed as gun masters. They get the same animations for given situations.

(+the texperts, biotics, and infiltrators get mentioned in conversations a few times, as neither of those classes get any verbal love)

They did it in ME1. The only reason not to do it in ME3 is to save on resources, and honestly.... this is the last game. Go all out or not at all. If they screw this one up I'll have lost faith in Biowares ability to make a good game anymore.

It's the little touches that make games great.

I like 100k's suggestion! "Texperts!" I like the designation as well!

Agreed. However, it would be nice to see a biotic Para/Rene choice similar to the animation frrom LotSB when Vasir conjures a biotic throw behind her back while talking to Liara and Shep. Rene, you'd hit them like in Jack's loyalty mission. Not enough to kill them but to bring them to their knees. Para, you'd just get rid of the biotic you've been charging. But despite that, I still agree with you.
