Idk what you're looking at but this one kicks mass effect 2's ass.  

Mass effect 1 box cover = Epic

I think ME1's was okay...but there were too many problems with it:

• Garrus doesn't have his correct armor
• Ashley's face isn't shown and you can see that it was
  the placeholder face she had on the first trailer
• Sheploo's face is messed up
• Shepard's stance is kinda awkward
• (Saren's eyes are pretty cool though)

I love the cover of the collector's edition. Just the N7. I wouldn't mind if they used that for the regular cover art too

That artbook picture should be the cover... wow.. gorgeous... and yes, it has a great space opera vibe to it... and Mass Effect is very much space opera.

I like the ME3 cover, even more the N7 edition. But as we saw with ME2, one cover isn't set in stone. (A superior one was dropped for the current one, a severe downgrade in my opinion).

I actually have a feeling we may be looking at the final art. I mean, the collector's edition has it's own unique graphic. I doubt they'd make up two different placeholders. Of course, things can still change, but I doubt the 'tone' of the cover art will change (Shepard = badass action hero).

It will be MaleShep and FemShep     =)    then we both get our Shepards on the box. I only play FemShep so it's great to finally get her on something    <3

They need to jazz it up, maybe with Shepard oiled up and dressed only in a Canadian flag cape doing a Shoryuken into a Reaper's private area with Miranda, Undead Ashley, Tali, Samara, Liara, Jack, a female volus and a hanar all swoon over his macho awesomeness. There would of course be fireworks in the background and a unicorn, because unicorns are cool.

If It's place holder how come GR (Gamereactor, danish gaming site) had all 3 platform covers up of that exact same picture?

Why not? Online stores also showed ME2's placeholder cover before the final version was revealed. Why can't they do that now?

I guess BioWare thought the website was too flash-dependant, and dropped it for the new one, and the cover reflected it.

But, I like the ME3 cover, though I think the GameInformer cover looks a little bit more badass.  Maybe add the omni-blade to the GI cover and it'll be perfect.
