I noticed around the Internet that some people think there's a "rumor" about Shiala kissing Shepard at the end of her sidequest. I know that it's true, and that you need to have never romanced anyone in the first game for that to happen; I wanted to film the scene (to clarify, so I can put it on YouTube and people don't need to resort to save editors, since I know a lot of people romanced someone in the first game, and from what I know, there isn't a video of this alternate scene on YouTube yet).

Except it's not working.

I did a playthrough of the first game with a non-romancing Shepard, started the second, made it to Illium, found Shiala, did the quest. It all worked fine from there; however, at the end of the last conversation, she just does the "standard" animation--smiling and touching Shepard's arm--and walks off.
I used a save editor to check my variables, and it says there that I haven't romanced anyone, yet the animation doesn't play. Is there more than just one variable? Perhaps I just need to validate my files?

That rumour is wrong. Gianna Parasini kisses male shep, Shiala just makes an awkward offer for Shep to come see her if he/she gets the chance.
