Would you like to see flashbacks of Shepard's life before Mass Effect 1?

They could work similarly to how you have conversations with squad members. You simply go into Shepard's cabin and there would be a small icon above Shepard's couch. You click on it and Shepard sits down and it triggers a flashback where Shepard remembers his old life. After each mission you get to see another flashback just like how you would get another conversation with a squad mate. They earliest flashback would only take place a few years before Mass Effect 1 so they wouldn't have to worry about aging and stuff like that.

A few examples of flashbacks we could see: ( I wrote them real quick so they might sound retarded )

1) Shepard is on Shore leave and is hanging about in a bar with some freinds. They just talk and spend their time getting drunk or something.I dunno, it could go anywhere I guess. Maybe some girl (or guy if you're femshep) starts to take interest in you and you can have a drink with them or tell them to screw off.

2) Shepard returns to whatever ship he is serving on right after completing a high-risk mission. Everyone congratulates him and the CO gives him a promotion. Youget the option to give a paragon/renegade speech or just accept the promotion and walk away.

3) Maybe this flashback could take place right before Mass Effect 1 where Shepard gets assigned to the
Normandy. It could be Shepards first time meeting Captain Anderson, Joker and the rest of the Normandy crew. Or ateast just Captain Anderson.

There are alot of different possiblities. It won't happen but I thought it might've been cool to see something like this in ME3. What do you think?

Sorry, don't mean to be blunt, but what would be the point of these flashbacks?

hmmm, I'd rather more people acknowledge and perhaps have side missions about Shepard's past based on choosing spacer, colonist, earthborn and sole survivor, war hero, and ruthless.

Flashbacks wouldn't fit in that well, I think. I'm sure a lot of this game will be ramping up to the finale of the trilogy, so there won't be a lot of flashback navel-pondering. Besides, lack of flashbacks means we have more room to roleplay what our Shepard was like before ME1. I think the backgrounds and psyche profile give us enough of a start on who Shepard was and what was important to him/her.

It could be a break from the fast paced storyline and show more insight into important characters.

That's what I was thinking too.  If flashbacks were relevant to those choices, I do think that would be pretty cool.

No, because a lot of people have a specific headcanon and the flashbacks wouldn't work for them. Would rather stick with the ass-kicking of the Reapers and spending time with my squad instead.
