Didn't I say Mark wants a new lady for ME3? No? Well, he's planning to start a new romance in ME3.
I just planning to see if he'll survive... especially the wrath of Kelly. She'd probably talk Boo into bloody plan of revenge...

To reply to the OP: Did you cheat on your mass effect 1 romance just to see the outcome?

First and foremost, my Shep didn't cheat because she died, thus ending what she had with Kaidan. Secondly, I didn't have her move on just to see what would happen in ME3. She moved on because she had wanted Garrus in ME1 and couldn't have him.

I'm actually doing this right now with a femshep who romanced Kaidan. She's going for Jacob. I'm just really curious to see how this all works out.

My mainshep is loyal to Ash.

Y'know, I've been thinking a lot about this. Is it really considered cheating to pursue the affection of someone else if your previous love interest told you in more than a few words to "****** off?" I'm of course referring to Kaidan/Ashley. Liara, on the other hand, is... interesting. It's difficult to pinpoint her affection early on. She's kind of icy until the Shadow Broker mission.

But yeah, I think I'll pursue Kelly with the Shepard that romanced Ash in the first game (yeah, I know it doesn't technically "count," but Bioware may elaborate more on the Kellymance in the next game). Just to see what happens in ME3.

I've done it twice:
Maleshep: romanced Ashley in ME1 and romanced Jack in ME2 => Jack died at the end
Femshep: romanced Kaidan in ME1 and romanced Garrus in M2 => Garrus survived

All my other playtroughs I've stayed Loyal or didn't romance anyone

 Yup, I've got one FemShep who's stayed faithful to Kaidan and another one who has cheated with Jacob - absolutely only reason being to see the difference between the two situation's and any potential drama/confrontation 
I'll probably take the faithful one through ME3 first and then the 'cheater' second.

Yeah I made a renegade character and "cheated" on Kaidan with Thane. However having been missing 2 years I don't think you could consider it really cheating.

16 playthroughs, 4 of them cheated on an ME relationship, 2 have so far not had any (1 will remain so throughout, the other will if there is non 'squad' LIs in ME3), the other 10 have only 1 LI in either ME or ME2.

1 cheated on Ash with Tali, both still alive
1 cheated on Kaidan with Garrus, Garrus is dead
1 cheated on Liara with Thane, Thane is dead (not played LotSB yet)
1 'sort of' cheated on Ash with Kelly, both alive (say sort of because Kelly isn't flagged as a proper romance)

Whilst I'll admit that I did purely do them to see the outcomes, with regards the first one, that Shepard is a bit of a man-**** anyway as he tried flirting with everyone in ME and also ME2 including renegade basement funtimes with Jack, as well as a kiss with Miranda and being flirty with Kelly.

I hope the LIs you choose to do this to/with have vastly different dialogue options because I already have a few "cheat" games but was kinda planning on having every possible combination (since I'm gonna be playing ME repeatedly until the ME3 relaese anyway)

I did but not in my canon play through. I was very disappointed with Shepard staying true to Liara and all he did was look at her picture. It would've been cool to have a reminisce scene. Maybe he could've been chilling in his room or a room having a casual drink and laughing with her. They could'be showed a past love scene. Something with visual incentive to keep the Liara romance. It's over now but that would've been cool. Liara is awesome.

I didn't intend to romance Kaidan with one of my non-canon Sheps,but somehow he ended up ninjamancing her and I just ran with it.
That being said I didn't intend to cheat on him either,but hey,talk to Shepard like that and of course she'll dump your boring ass for Thane.

Yes. I don't like Kaidan or Liara but I made a Kaidan/Garrus romancing PT just to hear what Garrus has to say about the love triangle in ME3.

Aren't this Shepad's unmentionables in a quad - or is that - quint? They're certainly in some kind of bunch!

As for my Shep, well, she's saving herself for Miri (Wait, this just went someplace terrible) - so, yeah, she "dumped" Liara, but with good reason (at least she thinks so anyway)

I didn't do it to see the outcome; I just found Kaidan about as interesting as watching paint dry. Garrus, on the other hand, was always one of my favorite characters.

That said, I am looking forward to seeing how this will all play out.

On my canon run I don't romance anyone in ME1 and go for Kelly on ME2, so no cheating. But I do have another save with a Liara and Garrus romance. I will use it just to see how that works out.

My only ME 1 romance was Liara. I might have cheated on her for Miranda, Jack, or Tali but there's no way to tell. As far as I know, Kelly is considered a fling and sleeping with her isn't even logged in the save game files. Of course, she was gooified in my only playthrough. :/
