So, it only really applies to people that chose the spacer background story, but what about Shepard's parents?  Seems like the chances are pretty good that they are going to be killed relatively soon.  I can't remember if they addressed where Shepard's father was, but you talk to your mother in the ME 1, so she's still alive.  But that can't last for long in ME 3.  It seems like she'd be dead pretty soon with the invasion, whether she's on Earth or in the fleet guarding it.

Considering the other backgrounds already took Shepard's parents out of the picture, looks like they're going to round that out for all options,  I'm going through my first playthrough with the spacer background and was kind of wondering if the folks were going to be there at the end to tell me how proud they were, but I don't think the odds are good.

Anyone else have any theories on the matter?  Does Shepard have any interaction with the 'rents in ME 2?

As you said my Shep's parents are dead so...yeah. But I hope they do develop the backstory for each Shep more. I think I heard somewhere that they said they would do this.

I feel bad cuz my Spacer Shep never talked to his parents in ME1. It was my first playthrough and I must have missed the side quest

I have been wondering if Captain Hannah Shepard was going to be there for her child's trial. If spacer that is.

Shep's mom sends and email in ME2. She's a bit upset to have to hear her child is alive in a round about way but she understands. Based on how the message is written, she sounds understanding but thinks that you were on a highly classified mission rather than dead and brought back.

I've heard that each backstory is going to play a part in ME3. How bid I dunno, but that probably means we'll hear from Mom Shep in ME3 in some form or fashion.
