I'm not going to say anything but if Kaidan wants to get back with Shepard he better have something good to say.

Kaidan: "I'm sorry. I was wrong but we have the rest of our lives for me to make it up to you if you'll give me another chance." (Granted, that might not be a very long time).

Hopefully it'd be a bit better written than that, but like I said, my Shepard is still pissed. Kaidan is the one that needs to do the talking and then MAYBE Shepard would take him back over Garrus.

 I didn't cheat.

Logic dictates that death = end of relationship.  So when I took Miranda to the champagne room I wasn't cheating on Ashley because it seemed like the relationship I had with Ashley was over.

Of course in ME3 I will be able to decide whether to re-kindle that old flame or stick it out with Yvonne Strahovski.

Ugh. I don't get how it's cheating on your LI when a relationship wasn't even established in ME1....And even if it was, how long has it been since Shepard's "death"? People move on.

It would suck if there are negative consequences in ME3 for "cheating"

I certainly didn't want to cheat on Kaidan in ME2, but I just had to try out Garrus. Then I felt awful (and a little creepy inside) afterwards.
Gotta love Garrus, though.

If there was ever a good excuse for breaking things off, being dead for two years has to rate right up there as valid reasons. (Of course on Horizon your existing LI acts as if dead for two years = staying out late with the boys for beers.)
