Ohhh!  I had completely forgotten that Garrus kept working on the Mako in the hold in ME1.  This scenario makes complete sense to me.

In all likelihood, we will be limited to dialog choices that basically can be surmised as "LOL I CHEETED ON U", seeing that we got three variations of "LOL IM WITH CURBURUZ" on Horizon.

Liara seems to have been spared from such derpage if her reaction in LoTSB is anything to go by.  Feel lucky, former Liaramancers.
