Are you expecting a proper apology/explanation from Ash/Kaidan for their behaviour on Horizon ?

I'm expecting a more in depth apology/explanation for those who romanced them but a smaller one for those who didn't. My Shepard pretty much understands their reasoning and is ready to let bygones be bygones but I'm sure no matter how heartfelt and/or reasonable their explanation is, plenty of people won't see it as enough or too late and will want to drop the VS like a burning coal.

Me, I'm cool with a fist bump and opening fire on some Husks.

I want an apology for them acting like complete morons. Kaiden was blinded by his distrust of Cerberus, and he had the nerve to accuse the hero who saved the galaxy of treason. Shepard oughta slap some sense into him, he's the one who made Kaiden what he was.

"Dramatically potent" my ass ...

There was no reason to even give "us" (the player) any choice via conversation in the scene at all.

They basically all give zero explanation and works only to confront ashley/kaidan.

Horribly forced and non realistic.

I could understand a huge confrontation via a renegade "screw you" break up option. Plus argument over cerberus in generel but letting us explain ourselves.

PS: I just played through the scene again and... well ... it's ridiculous...

PPS: Notice how many of the other squadmate conversersations is also about your dislike / distrust of cerberus yet these options are utterly lacking in the conversation with ashley/kaidan AND anderson
.

Bolded for emphasis.

I'm expecting better written dialogue, which was the major reason the Horizon confrontation sucked (especially if they were a LI).

Indeed.

I have no problem with them being suspicious of Cerberus and its motives
I have no problem with them being worried about Shepard working for them
I have no problem with them being unable to be recruited.

I do have a problem with the terrible, terrible dialogue (on both sides) which appeared to be specifically designed to drive a wedge between Shepard and the VS.

I'd go along with this, I think what bugged me about the whole horizon scene was the refusal to give Shepard the benefit of the doubt, I just expected more loyalty from Ash especially.

Now maybe there is a reason beind the reaction, but if not my Shepard isn't going to be too happy

The whole Horizon scene is nothing more than a big advertisement for the new LI's. Followed by "Oh we're checking your gamelogs and see that you cheated! Have fun meeting your old LI in ME 3!"

They don't need to apologize. They never needed to apologize. SHEPARD needs to apologize. Anyone who hates the VS because they give Shepard a hard time is either narcissistic, unable to understand character POV, or just emotionally immature. Seriously, how young do you have to be to completely ignore the fact that EVERYTHING the VS says is TRUE. Working for Cerberus? Pretty sure that's a court-martial-worthy offense in the Alliance military. The VS should have taken Shepard into custody, as well as Joker, Dr. Chakwas, Jacob, and any other ex-Alliance folks like Ken and Gaby. Of course the player knows that the Collectors are a threat—but Shepard fails the Diplomacy Check to get the VS to understand the situation. The VS sees Zombie Shepard in the company of a shadowy organization like Cerberus, even AFTER all of that business in ME1 with Cerberus—not to mention Akuze. So to all these young kids that are PO'd that the VS "hassled" Shepard: grow up—not everybody is going to agree with you, in real life or a video game. You might want to let go of that fantasy sooner rather than later.

Their behaviour? Hah, I'm expecting that *I* can explain Shepard's behaviour to them.

"Hey Ash, how've you been?"...honestly.

If anyone should apologize for Horizon it is Shepard.

Or Bioware for giving bad lines to Shepard.

Absolutely agree with the guys above me.

Shepard behaved as a total d-bag during Horizon reunion. I demand a self b!tch slap interrupt and a nice apology FROM Shepard.

Relax, breathe, its just a discussion.
Just because someone dosent share your opinion it dosen't make them "a kid". to label them as such is just well ,,,,,,,,,, immature

Shepard arrived out to the colony, stopped the collectors and saved the remaing colony members (including the VS). I think that should at least earn him the right to explain himself fully, certainly before being labelled a traitor from (in some cases) his/her former lover.

Yeah Shepard is a jerk/idiot on Horizon. While I would've liked to have some slightly better lines to explain the situation to the VS they still shouldn't have accepted what I Shep said.

Poll.

Personally, I just wanna move past Horizon. It was horrible, both in-roleplay and from a metagame perspective.

I'd actually enjoy a really stilted, awkward atmosphere with the VS for the first part of the game. You should be able to trigger a big confrontation but I would like the timing of that to be optional. I'd enjoy lots of icy glares and little snipes to rebuild some of the tension and chemistry during the early game.

Disagreement doesn't mark immaturity. Immature positions mark immaturity. The difference of opinion is irrelevant.

Shepard arrived out to the colony, stopped the collectors and saved the remaing colony members (including the VS). I think that should at least earn him the right to explain himself fully, certainly before being labelled a traitor from (in some cases) his/her former lover.

And Shepard does get to make a defense... and does a mighty poor job of it.

No wait...

I only told garrus that (?)...

Oh I dunno, when you mean reason do mean like one in which Shep comes back from th dead, doesn't even bother to let Kaiden/Ashley know they're alive and working with a terrorist organization ? The same organization that in ME1 turned an entire colony into husks, killed an admiral and experimented on rachni?

Those sound like reason enough for their reaction. Unless there is some self entitlement clause that said a character (LI or not) is never supposed to question your actions?
Well... is the murder of an Alliance Admiral, the turning of an entire colony into husks and the illegal experimentation of rachni and the teaming with the organization responsible for those actions not a traitorous act?

How are they supposed to go about confronting you about it? With kid gloves and cookies? I'd be surprised if they didn't call Shepard out.
Alien team mates or no you are still working for a pro-human agenda (hey could that be why they save a human colony?) terrorist organization. Now how do they react to that? In the first game your fighting against them. Your other ME1 squad mates (Garrus and Tali) even question it when they get on the ship. Tali does so on two occasions! When you meet her on Freedoms progress and when she gets back on the Normandy. Again if you save the collector base and she survives the mission. (So three times if you're keeping count)

But no hate for them right? Tali and Garrus are just a little nicer about your affiliation becuase you either saved them or saved them twice and got them safely on the ship and they had nothing else to do, but help Shepard]

Considering the higher up argument... Ashley and or Kaidan was in the Terminus systems on a human colony. Ever think they didn't get told about they meeting between the councilor Anderson or Udina, until she got back in council space?

And incase some of you didn't know, Cerberus is a pro-human organization. They only reason Shepard is working with aliens is becuase they need they're help (for now) and in the long run after the suicide mission is over Shepard's teams importance kinda declines a bit.
This thread and it using recycled arguments that if thought out a little could explain the VS's reaction to Shepard working with Cerberus. (Horizen could have been done better, but still)  So instead of a long winded over blown speech.... I'll just quote myself. Oh yeah and they don't need to appologize . Image IPB (I know big shock)

Not to mention telling them Tali can back Shep's claims about the Collectors with footage from Freedom's Progress...

Oh, wait...

You can get Joker and Chakwas to help you convince them...

Hmm

You can remind them about the time you stole a warship from the Citadel and became fugitives to save the galaxy, and this is kinda like that...

Oh, wait...

You can ask what rumors are circulating about Shep and perhaps put them to rest...

Okay maybe not...

You can give them a copy of all the files you made available to Jack.

Oops.
